
She stretched out, well up, really. Using the wall of the outside of her den, Lela raked her nails across the stone and shivered at the noise it made. It both excited her and made her want to cringe away from it. Either way, her nails were sharpened and she felt ready to start the day. It was still early morning, nice and cool with the promise of rain heavy in the air.
Her fur bristled at the scent and feel of the water heavy air. Khahlela enjoyed the rain; it brought out the most interesting creatures. Birds of all kinds, some lizards and snakes, easy pickings if you want a snack. And, since Lela didn't feel like really hunting, it was perfect. All she had to do was wait. But she hated waiting. "Vicious cycles," she murmured to herself, wandering out into the green plain she'd settled on. In the distance, thunder rumbled.
