: O! Crazy right?! I had no idea he was modeled after some Dutch beefcake! Mark Vanderloo, very goo looking man. Though I'll never be able to look at him and not think of Shepard. I dunno about you guys, but this made my night. Sorta sad that it took me this long to find this fact though.

At first I thought this was a photo-shopped image until I looked up Mark Vanderloo and saw the same image staring back at me.

i still don't underdstand why the name john. why not something else i mean relly. i hate to bring the subject up but that is cheif's name. i facepalmed when i heard the name john.

Probably because they didn't care about the first name at all. The first name is simply a way to title your saved games to sort them out better. Shepard. That is his only name.

In investigations when they have an unknown male suspect/victim they give him the name John Doe until they know their real name. Same with females except its Jane Doe. And the generic fem. Shep is Jane Shepard. Anyway, he is one fine looking man and its crazy how much they look alike! @Soren: I literally lol'd.
