Abi was just as chipper as she had been all day, though a bit nervous. She had never had a real checkup before, and was always worried about things the first time she did them.
"Momma, is this gonna hurt or somethin'?" she asked, jutting out her lower lip as she sat in a nearby chair and kicked her feet as she waited for the doctor.
"No dear, I don't believe it will hurt, don't worry." the mother comforted, receiving a quick nod and a smile from her little girl. Abi stood up and offered the chair to her mother, being a polite little girl for once as her mother had taught her while looking around to see if she would be waiting much longer.

The door was opened by a little woman who looked familiar but not quite. Rather than large black glasses, Apoxi wore small clear ones, and her usually wild hair was all braided back, including her bangs. The woman dressed like a real doctor and seemed quite professional today.
"Hey dearie! Ready for your checkup?"

Abi looked a bit shocked, the doctor looked so nice and... well... doctorly! She smiled and nodded, trotting over now. Her fear was obviously gone as she spoke, "Yeah! I am! I'm super excited too, will I get a sucker or somethin'?" she asked, receiving a glare from her overly-polite mother.
"I mean, if not s'okay, just wonderin'..." she added, trying to save her own skin so her mother wouldn't scold her later. She didn't get it sometimes, didn't her mother know how to have a little bit of fun? Apparently not.

"If you're a good girl and don't misbehave during your checkup you will." Apoxi assured her with a big smile, letting Abi into the room. "You can go out and enjoy the party, ma'am, she'll be out in a little bit with her report. The examination room is tiny and I'll have to drag her all over, so you may as well just relax outside."

Young Abi's eyes lit up at the woman's reply. She looked over at her mother, smiling as the stoic woman nodded and exited the room. Abi didn't mind being alone with Apoxi, she had always seemed nice... even though Abi didn't know her well.
"So what do I haveta do?" she asked with large, curious eyes, tilting her head to the side lightly. Was this like a regular checkup where she stuck out her tongue and said 'ahh'? The girl figured not, since she wasn't at a normal doctor's place.

"well, first we start with normal stuff. Just sit on that bed thing there and I'll come over and check your heart and stuff." Apoxi assured her with a warm smile, pulling out a stethoscope. "We will do more advanced checks after that."
