Elke didn't know what in the world had possessed her to join a pick-up soccer game. It was a good thing, though; she was playing with people her own age, something the nurse at Crystal said she wanted to see more of. You're spending too much time alone in that gym, the woman had said. Get out some. So, obediently, she had gotten out some.

"Hey," she said, jumping back as the crowd of girls rushed by her. (She was the goalie, of course, because of her splinted wrist.) One of them shouted an apology and she grinned, widely, as the ball came her way, skimming along the grass. Elke, who was also Virgo and distinctly remembered how to properly kick a ball, slammed the laces of her sneakers into it.

Her training was paying off, she thought as she watched the soccer ball fly. Then she noticed the dark-haired boy in the way and cupped her hands around her mouth to yell: "Look out!"

Mother of pearl? Did anyone actually say that? Elke filed in away in her 'questions to ask Grayson' folder as she bounced past the dark-haired boy to reclaim the ball. "Sorry," she called, turning towards their poor victim again. She hurled the ball over his head, back to another girl, and she waved.

"You are Azzo, aren't you?" She tilted her head a bit. Specific faces from Barren Pines were starting to blur a bit. If it was Azzo, well. Some of her teal hair she hooked behind one ear. "Sorry about that, I haven't played for a while... or ever, really..." Elke was not much of one for sports.

"Uh," she said, tugging on her hair. How had he forgotten? She knew most of the civilian survivors didn't remember much after the first death but certain incidents had happened before and. She flushed a little red. Elke didn't want to talk about Barren Pines, so. "No." The bluenette linked her arms behind her back, arching one eyebrow a little like Grayson did sometimes. "What, you mean you forgot me?" And then her hands on her hips, she tossed her hair. "How mean!"

"My brother Grayson goes to Meadowview with you," she said, sounding more irritated than anything. She didn't think about Barren Pines anymore, and it seemed like Azzo was fixated on it. Why would you be fixated on something you couldn't even remember? It seemed so pointless, just take what you had and move on--Elke frowned, crossing her arms and setting her legs akimbo. "I saw you at a school event, I wasn't part of an organ ring."

She wasn't lying, was the thing: she had seen plenty of people at 'school' 'events', and Barren Pines hadn't been an organ ring. Instead of all her little idiosyncrasies that gave her away all the time, the blushing and the looking away and the stuttering and stammering, she stared at him flatly, unamused.

Then she gave a rolling shrug. "It was a short meeting, anyway," she said. "More greeting. I'm not surprised you do not remember."

"There's a first time for everything," said Elke tartly. She wasn't mad, just still a little frustrated, and it showed in the annoyed little moue of her lips. But this only lasted for a few seconds more, and then she relented, her easy smile coming back. "It happens to everyone, okay? Don't be sad!"

The blue-haired girl helped him pick up the knight, tossing her locks over one shoulder. She had a necklace on, a star-shaped cookie with a little strawberry charm. It was irritatingly adorable, rather like the girl herself. Elke smiled through her bangs, straightened up and hooked her thumbs in her back pockets like Grayson did. "I've been okay. What about you?"
