Reyn pouted, dawdling as much as he could. He didn't want to be here. It would have been fine if he had just gone to a normal doctor, like the one Lisa went to. After his last parental visit the boy had stopped pestering Lisa to go see Kayen and Apoxi. For the life of her, Lisa couldn't get her 'son' to tell her why. It was a strange role reversal when the letter for his appointment came. Lisa was surprisingly eager to go and figure out what had changed Reyn's mind and Reyn had tried every tantrum and pity tactic he could think of to get out of going. It hadn't worked.

Lisa turned around, fixing Reyn with her best glare. "Quit it. You have to see Kayen for a physical and the longer you put it off the longer it's going to last," she snapped. "Now move your feet and get up here." Her meager patience was long depleted. Still moping, Reyn picked up his pace, his face sheepish and resentful in one.

The two finally settled into a small waiting room. Reyn pouting settled in on the ground in front of Lisa's chair. The dragon glanced down at the kid before pressing her lips together and staring straight ahead. Hopefully after the exam she could corner Apoxi and find out what had happened while Reyn was last here visiting.

Reyn shook his head, pressing closer to Lisa. "Uh-uh," he muttered avoiding Apoxi's eyes. Glancing up at the older dragon he frowned. "Do I really have to...?" he whispered, one last ditch attempt at avoiding the entire thing.

Pressing her lips together the woman stared back. "Yes. You do," she replied firmly. Whatever was causing Reyn to act so strangely wasn't going to be fixed by avoiding the lab forever.

Reyn looked to the other side unhappily. "I do.." he muttered. "Just.. don't want to...." The boy was nearly sitting on Lisa's lap he was pressed so close to her.

Abruptly the woman stood up. Well beyond the limits of her patience, Lisa crossed her arms. "Stand up," she ordered. Startled, Reyn struggled to his feet. "I don't know what's wrong but you are not acting like yourself and pretending your not is not going to help," the woman ground out sharply.

"You are going to go talk with Apoxi and straighten out whatever needs to be straightened out. Do you understand me?"

Looking somewhat close to tears Reyn nodded silently.

Reyn slunk into the exam room, shifting from foot to foot.

Lisa nodded tightly, keeping her temper under wraps. "Sure."

Reyn looked down at his feet, quiet for a moment before bursting out. "I don't want you to like her more!" He shrank back, lower lip quivering. "Sharing is good but.." he trailed off unable to find the words to explain exactly what he felt.

"The..." Reyn waved his hands around his head, getting more frustrated by the moment. The more frustrated he got, the harder it was to get the words, and the harder it was to find the words the more frustrated the dragon got.

"It's not the same," he finally spat out tears pricking at his eyes. Roughly he scrubbed at them, trying not to cry.
