 It was his very first venture out of his homelands, out of the borderlands where his father and mother set up their humble home. Blues was excited about the chance of meeting new Soquili, and his wings beat faster as he soared through the sky.
Blues was infused with confidence as a sense of purpose enveloped him. His grandmother had been a grand adventurer, a grounded who had been swept up in a legacy of traveling around the world until she settled down with his grandfather, a fellow traveler. It was from Karma that he inherited his wings. Blues was grateful as he flew, powerfully beating his wings through the air. He didn't know what he would do without the sky. It was so exhilarating to be able to fly!
But the Alicorn knew that his Wind genetics were thinning. For the past three generations, though the wings were carried on, the Wind blood had been diluted by grounded blood. His mother had been a grounded Unicorn, his grandmother a grounded, and also his great-grandmother. He chuckled, seeing a trend in his family's relationships. But there was a charm that the grounded females possessed...something tangible, more so than the ethereal charm of the wing-endowed females. It was definitely something to think about, Blues thought as he steered in for a landing in a small clearing.

 Selenite had found herself wandering once again. It had been some time since she had interacted with any other soquili after the purple stallion she sought to help in his utter distress. She walked slowly and deliberately along the banks of the slow moving river it was a bright day one that didn't cast many shadows upon the clearing. She watched the smaller creatures frolic and play upon the forest ground as she wondered what was in store for her this beautiful day. Her thoughts and her gaze went to the skies and wondered in amazement. She knew of the kind that could soar with the birds she had on a few occasions met with those kinds but she felt the ground was calming, it was familiar and firm. There wasn't any need to worry about footing or falling for that matter. But still her mind wandered aimlessly as she caught sight of a large shadow dancing above the tree tops.

His hooves touched down lightly as he pulled in for an elegant landing. After all, you never knew who was watching. Looking around, he saw patches of shadow in the forest around him. They cast a blue-black shade over the green foliage, enough so that he nearly missed the flash of a brilliantly blue pelt. Surprised, his curiosity piqued, Blues started walking towards the other Soquili. Who would be out in this forest? It was far from the beaten path, and very few traveled here.
As he grew closer, he realized that it was a mare, and a very beautiful one at that. He had never seen anyone with such a vibrant coat. "Excuse me, miss?" he said, a hint of awe in his voice. "Forgive me, but...what are you doing way out here? You're not lost, are you?" If she was, she could be lost for days. The forest was vast and confusing. Maybe he could be of help to her, a sort of guide. He did have wings, after all, and could see the end of the forest. And it would be a shame for her to wind up out here alone at night. That wouldn't do at all.

Selenite watched as the shadow grew larger and then gracefully land in what looked to be a grand display. She smiled, it was very much a display for show but none the less it was amusing to see. He drew near and she could she the colour of his pelt cocking her head to the side thinking that his display of colour could have been from the sun but noticing that it was all natural to his own pelt she smiled even more.
Hearing his voice she lowered her head slightly her horn glimmering in the sun. Hearing his question she laughed slightly, her voice carrying gently on the wind.
"Lost oh heavens no. I had come out here to find Gypsum...he's a small rabbit and I'm actually quite fond of him. He just didn't like the idea of me coming out to the forest without him having looked through it first."
Nodding her head in approval that was exactly why she was out here...no other reasons. Or at least that was what she was going to continue telling herself. Smiling gently at the stallion she continued,
"I am not trespassing in your area am I? Perhaps you have seen Gyp...and maybe have him somewhere because sometimes he can cause quiet a stir when he gets going..."
