Riordan huffed grouchily, sending a scathing glare at the cold unresponsive piece of technology. "I...Refuse to surrender! Though it now occurs to me, that I am not as proficient with these sorts of things as I presumed myself to be." Hoisting himself up off the floor and pulling his hand free of the tangle of wires and circuits. Dragging his gaze from the open floor panel to the wall frame, watching the operation lights flicker in they're orange and red 'warning tones' "Stupid piece of machine, I am a designer not an electrician!" Vibrant red hair floating about his shoulders as he growled at the silent empty house. Aiming a bad kick at his walls that only left him to hop about in pain...

"Ow ow ow! This is hopeless..What I need is a worker, someone good who can handle my precious Doris" Riordan nodded firmly to himself, half limping his way back to his study. He'd barely sat himself in his plush rolling chair before his fingers went flying across his desktop screen, bringing up a viewpoint of his electronic notebook. The bright neon image hovering before his eyes, displaying a long list of names and numbers. Friends and acquaintances, and all other manner of people with whom he occasionally found reasons to speak to.

Truly what he needed was not someone who was 'good' at working with electronics and programs, but someone who was brilliant about it! A person who would have the know-how and skill to even think of laying hands upon his oh so beloved Doris. Riordan treasured his home above all things, after all the place represented more then just his impeccable taste in style and decorating ability's. It was a window into his soul (Whereas his eyes were surely not), showing off all the things he loved and felt best represented him as a person. Better then his impeccable wardrobe even! After all, fashion changed constantly, but he almost never meddled with the state of his home.

"Lets see..I need, a man." Riordan hummed to himself, not that he had a thing against women, oh no not at all, but he had enough of a woman's touch of his own! Tsk, would be far better to find a male worker, and preferably someone who understood discretion when dealing with certain clients. Huffing lightly as a small smile came over his face, leaving his little notebook behind on one screen and bringing up another. Setting out on a little search to find someone suited to handling the task.

The name Kārlis Zariņš, came up more then once, though he could find nothing more particular about the person. Not even a photo, still the light recommendation and praise he managed to dredge up regarding how he handled certain systems was enough to intrigue Riordan. Promptly sending a mail to the man, cordially inviting him to his home. Letting his short but sweet note convey his need for new software and installments, while also mentioning the magnificence of his own talents and home decor. "Hopefully you'll respond soon my dear Karlis..Karlis..Now is that Russian or German. I'll have to remember to ask when I meet him." Riordan grinned, sure that the man would not dare turn him down! No one turned down a chance at seeing his home, and even fewer a chance at earning some side money for a simple job.

"Tech support?" Kārlis snorted derisively at the request he'd just received. After a moment, he shrugged. Ah well, my rate's the same either way, he decided. Therefore, he promptly sent a reply to schedule a date and time. Besides, he'd seen the place before, and it did look interesting.

It was, in fact, the very next morning that they scheduled he be there. Since he'd never met this Riordan person before, Kārlis chose his outfit carefully. First impressions are important for a good business relationship. He chose a fairly nice suit--black pants, black jacket, a light blue shirt, and a dark blue tie. It was not a new set, rather old, in fact. But that matched with society in general. The high quality stuff only came out for special occasions.

Kārlis collected his remote nanobot controller (which bore a resemblance to ancient smartphones from the 21st century), and headed off to meet with this new client. On his bus ride over, he idly ran checks on the nanobot swarm, which could coalesce in the air to form small geometric shapes (cubes, dodecahedrons, and the like...dice) as control tests. They were useful little machines for messing with computers. Not something to give to anybody at all, but carrying with him for "maintenance" was definitely a boon.

A short time later, he found himself in front of the residence of Riordan. He spent a moment looking around at it, then walked up to the door and rang whatever sort of doorbell the man had. This aught to be interesting, he thought.

The doorbell chimed and twinkled brightly, a light yet warm sound that carried itself loudly through the many rooms in Riordans home. The Artisan yawning loudly as he roused himself from his drowsy state on the living room couch. Dressed casually for once, his usually eccentric outside ware left in his closet. Seeing as he would be spending this day at home. Wearing in long black slacks with a dark blue trim, and a fleecy white pullover. His usually wild hair pulled back into a lazy, scraggly ponytail.

Hoisting himself to his feet, Riordan made his way from the plush comfort of his living room out onto the hard flashing tiles of the hallway. Game-fully skipping every other step until he'd reached the front door. "Hello! Sir you have no clue how glad I am to see right now, I could just about hug you I'm so happy." Riordans bright grin plastered across his face as he eagerly opened the front door, truly glad to have someone here who could fix his problems. "I swear to you my kitchen is trying to kill me, and I for one cannot bear living without access to a simple cup of coffee." The redhead nodded fiercely, stepping back and pulling the door wide as he quickly invited the man inside, a rush of semi-warm air swirling around the entrance. Riordan was none to eager to have all the heat leave to quickly, he prided himself on having an extravagantly effective way of blocking out the cold. Owning thick doors was only a part of it, that and keeping them closed as much as possible.

"I should warn you, I'm terrible with names..Not my own of course, but I've completely forgotten yours. I'm always writing these things down yet still..." His shoulders lifting lightly with a shrug, eyes trained upon the man he was welcoming inside.
