Ary moved around the room, putting things away and moving other things, like her desk, out of the way. For once it was cold out and thus cold inside, energizing her for once. By the gods above she HATED spring and summer. That meant sunlight and heat and all sorts of unpleasant things.
Just thinking about all that put her in a bad mood, which probably wasn't going to be a good idea. At least her student wasn't of wrath to push her over the edge or something. Ebony... She thought she had heard that name somewhere before...

Ebby entered, looking her usual pleasant self. Her curvaceous frame was visible in her dark jeans and white turtle neck. She was probably much to cheerful for Ary's tastes, but she had to be otherwise she'd be annoyed and bored because she had to visit for another stupid melee class. And an annoyed bored Ebby is just not the kind of Ebby that did anything. So best to stay cheery.
"Hello there." she greeted before blinking her seemingly sightless eyes, "Hey, I know you. You're one of Cody's relatives aren't you?"

Ary turned and looked over Ebby, recognition finally dawning on her. "Yes and no, and you're the one who babysat him that one time. I'm merely friends with his mother and share a house due to me owing her a favor and she owing me a place to stay," she replied and cracked her knuckles.
"But enough about personal lives and before you ask, call me Ary. Seeing as this weather is putting me off and I could really care less for intricate fighting styles, you wanna learn how to defend yourself through fist fighting?" she asked, masking her fatigue and overall tired look. She didn't want the spawn's pity or sympathy or her help, much less for her to think she was going to make things easy.

Ebby nodded a bit, understanding how situations like that could be. "Nice to meet you Ary." Well, to say the least this person was more direct than her last attempt at melee class.
"Sure. That sounds like something I can manage." the girl agreed, bracing herself carefully for how this would start.

"You know how to block areas that are most vulnerable? Such as the face, stomach, and chest?" Ary asked, taking up a general defensive stance. She'd go through the motions of defense, then offense, then see what all Ebby could do in a mock fight. That was where the real learning began. One COULD learn from just watching and mimicking moves, but one didn't really learn unless actually doing them in a real-life fight.
Well, as real as one could get in a classroom where the intent was to teach, not beat the living crud out of the other.

"Yes and no." Ebony commented, putting up her arm and making a quick jab with the side of her hand at Ary's arms before ducking back a bit. The girl wasn't the master of BLOCKING, but plenty of dancing and contorting had made her much better at DODGING, which could be just as good in some senses.

Ary blocked Ebony’s punch with ease while watching her dance back. Ah, so she was a dancer of sorts, or did something involving similar moves and such. All this she managed to tell from how the spawn lashed out and withdrew. Man she was good. “Mm, I see. Dodging is more your thing, as is getting straight to the point. A mock battle till a side gives, gets seriously injured, or class ends... I’m hoping for the latter,” she said, half to herself and half to Ebony so she knew a little of what was going to happen.
So how was she to teach a girl that had more grace than she did even if her leg was broken and was in a coma? Well, Vampy never said things would be easy. Transitioning into a more fluid battle stance, the teacher lashed out with a light punch to the girl’s middle while continuously moving forward. Vaguely she wondered how Ebony would react to such a move as she tested out her mobility and flexibility.

Ebony twisted her hips to slide out of the way, grabbing Ary's arm to guide it, so to speak, into another position. She wasn't a fighter, but working with other dancers, she often had to do things that required more physical strength than she possessed, so the girl had a bit of practice in using another person's momentum to spin and toss them.
It wasn't an exact copy of her usual dance moves, but she was able to throw Ary away from her a ways.

Ary stumbled a bit as Ebony used her momentum to guide her teacher elsewhere and out of range. This girl was a sly one and quick too. It was time for a different strategy, and hopefully one that would actually work against her student and provide a bit of a challenge. Regaining her form and balance a split second or so after being thrown, the female turned and in one smooth move raised her leg in a sort of kick at Ebony’s knees. To be honest, she never really expected the blow to connect. She did, however, expect some sort of dance-like dodge that would be met with some sort of punch. How Ary planned on doing that all depended on how Ebony moved and danced away.

Ebony didn't as much dance AWAY as fall backward onto her hands, leaving the teacher's kick and the momentum from her punch sending her forward. As Ary fell, the young woman kicked at a point on the teacher's solar plexus, throwing her back while she was off balance.
