Behind a legnthy front walk stands what Dian likes to call his manor. One story high, it has three floors, which include the ground floor, an attic, and the basement, which stretches underneath the entire house. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms, the estate is spacious, with an inbuilt studio, and garage. The exterior is a deep green in hue, to blend in with the surrounding foliage, but the inside is much more...Eclectic.

The kitchen and living room posess walls of a deep red, with black carpeting, though the kitchen has black marble floors with inlaid gold and micah leaf. A hallway seperates the studio from the living room, and is framed by two rooms on either side, the two on the left formerly occupied by Hikaro, Haku and Raissen in one, A'Hallei in the other. On the right closest to the studio is Dian Chegrin's master bedroom, beside it is the last bedroom, converted into a study. The only enterance to the attic is from Chegrin's bedroom, the door to which is usually locked. The walls are a vibrant cobalt blue, but he posesses a queen sized bed with orange satin sheets and a canopy. The floor is the same marble as the kitchen, though there is a small slate fountain beyond the foot of the bed.

The studio is a mess, covered with marble dust, tools, chunks of stone, clay, wax and plaster. Aprons hang on one wall, beside a large sink over which is an electric clock. A window provides the light, and a view to the large backyard that leads into the neighboring woods.

Within the living room is a large recliner, a couch and an ottoman, all in the same deep red. An end table sports a lamp and the phone, and a coffee table holds the remotes for the home entertainment system the kitchen is fully furnished and a hearth lies against one wall, but aside from that, the house is bare. No one save Dian knows the contents of the attic or the basement.

Here is a very basic floorplan

No floorplan for the basement or attic is provided as Dian will probably never let anyone see them.

Dian was working, as was his life, his hell now. Secluded in the back studio, he was hard at work cleaning his newest work. It really reflected the mood he had been in for the past few weeks, or as he could call it, the funk. A man sat on the ground, situated as though he had been standing, but slid to the floor in defeat, on his knees. Curled slightly forward, head bowed, his sculpted eyes were closed, over hands cupped on the floor. What was he contemplating? His hands could hold anything, a flower, a cup, a dagger perhaps, or nothing at all. Right now water pooled within the creases in his palms, from the shower spilling over his form, lovingly dipped and wiped around him from the trembling hands of his maker.

Allowing the sculpture to air dry, Dian stood beside the window, staring sightlessly at the backyard where not that long ago, children, his children ran and played. It hadn't really been that long ago, had it?

...Had it?

No, these children grew quickly, not much time at all. Dian vaguely brought back thoughts of himself before he'd met Hikaro, his first child. Not much in his routine was different, from then to now, but before he lived to work, taking little thrills in each new piece, content to learn and grow from each one. It was enough fulfillment. Not anymore. Sure, he still loved his work, but a desperation remained, to try and recapture that simple satasfaction he held before.

The door knocked. For a flighty moment, Dian's heart fluttered, thinking maybe it was Raissen, returning for something, but a click back brought the memory of the message Raissen left the night before, that he'd be out camping for a while. It wasn't him, Hikaro never knocked, so who...?
Salesperson? Who else would bother?

Dian wasn't in the mood to be treated as a mindless customer, and wasn't in the mood to donate any of his hard earned money, but wasn't in the mood to let someone walk off unanswered, regardless. He walked to the door, and stood before it for a moment, trying to straighten up his appearance before a resigning what for? stilled his hands.

He opened the door.

He didn't expect to see Catzi, of all people. He'd never have thought she'd ever find his house. Not even DT knew where the raccoon lived. GD knew somehow, but not DT, or so he thought at least.
He blinked, rendered speachless in confusion. As far as could be told, he looked alright, if not a little lackluster, tired, weary. He wasn't disheveled, gaunt, pale or sick looking, he was covered in a slight dusting of marble powder, which reddened his eyes a little, but otherwise seemed perfectly fine.
"Cat?" He almost didn't believe his eyes.

Chegrin's face turned slightly sour when the first thing she did was giggle at him, as if it were nothing she turned up out of the blue. It faded quickly, there was no use in becoming irritated over things that really didn't matter. What remained was a neutral expression, though he did take a small amount of amusement from how happy she seemed. Yes, she was happy. She even reached out and swiped a thin streak of the marble dust from him, staring at the powder for a moment. How akin their actions were, her cleaning his face as he had done to his statue minutes ago.

"Sorry, Cat." He offered, without explination or excuse. What could he say really? 'Sorry about dissappearing for weeks Cat, i've become overly emotional about everyone leaving and I forgot I still had friends.' 'I was making a mountain from a molehill.' 'Busy.'
He didn't even bother with It's like you don't like me or something, because he knew Cat knew damn well she was his best friend.

There was an extended and slightly awkward silence that followed. Dian noted Cat sunk into that same 'lost in thought' expression Raissen and he were guilty of posessing far too often. He could see the gears shift in her head, and deciding to break the moment, he stepped back and splayed open the door.
"Are you deciding on whether or not to come in? It's cold outside, and I won't hold it open forever."
Dian smiled at the lame bit of humour.

The rest of the house was nothing but dusty. Even the TV looked as though it hadn't been used in weeks. It looked as though no one had been around it at all, and only the kitchen and bathroom held signs of use.

Dian stared perplexed at her as she ran off all the reasons why she didn't call him before arriving unanounced. He slowly closed the door and swept his eyes around the room, regretful he hadn't cleaned up at all. Marble dust had the habit of getting into everything. Catzi's voice drew those vibrant golden eyes back to her and he lifted his hand as to brush it off.
"No worries hm?"

It was then she presented him with the treats, and he couldn't help but smile. She'd gone through the trouble to make these for him? He gracefully accepted the plate and looked down on the treats within.
"I suppose Rai also was the one who supplied you with our address?"

Turning, Dian walked the short distance to the kitchen and set the treats on the counter, unwrapping a corner.
"Can I get you anything? Soda, water? I'm afraid it's all I have at the moment." He said, sparing a mournful glance to the fridge. "It's been a while since I've had to provide for...anyone."

He took the crispie treat and nibbled at the corner to keep himself from spilling. Catzi surely didn't want to hear the ramblings of a depressed coon who just needed to get over it. Sheesh, he acted like Raissen had died, rather than was out camping for goodness' sake.

Dian wordlessly handed a treat to Catzi, keeping his teeth firmly locked in the sugary morsel. The marshmallows locked his jaw in place, and for once he couldn't be happier, Cat just had that ability to make him want to open up and cry out for all the trouble he went through to ensure that never happened.

He was already backed up against the kitchen counter, and when she approached him, he wanted to shrink back and retreat, but could not. Even within his own home she posessed great stregnth. So much for covering his tracks, as well. Come to think of it, Dian couldn't finger why he'd put so much effort in keeping himself secretive. The attic, the basement, his house?

Her expression changed again and she stepped closer again. The marshmallowy treat was no match for his teeth and it gave way again, and as Dian chewed, he had the sense to slide around the approaching woman to free space between them. What a question! Golden eyes shifted and flickered to the long hallway to the studio.

"I've just been working. I- I tend to lose track of time when i'm in the middle of a project." He said, which was mostly true. The reality was that he worked as an excuse partly, he worked as a distraction. Even if he was in the worst block of his life he'd probably still have lurked in his house like a ghost welling in self pity and doubt. His solution was clear- if he was lonely, go out and see people. It was never so simple as that, though.
"Would you like to see it?" He queried, suddenly shifting the focus of the topic.

Cat's look made him exceedingly uneasy. It was akin to Raissen's reaction to Ethan, the probing glance that bypassed all manners of barriers. She at least wanted to see his work, but her last comment made him cringe.
"L-Lame?" Dian exclaimed, before slightly waving it off. Turning, he started to walk down the hallway when her voice pinned him down. A crawl shot up and down his spine and Dian sighed.

"Cat, I doubt I could ever hide from you, and not just because you've already found my house." He sid, letting his voice linger on the air. Without turning around, he proceeded down the hallway, sparing a single glance inside the study before moving into the studio.

As soon as his gaze first fell upon the statue, Dian released a heavy sigh. How like an angsty teenager he must sound. He'd never handled tragedy very well, even the most minor. Just get over it, you're upset for no reason chimed again and again, like a warning to put on your seatbelt. Steeling himself, Dian forced a smile to bubble to the surface. People were worrying about him when they shouldn't be.

Despite the spaciousness of the house, it was unconciously built for many residents, and now stood at a near complete vacancy. Both rooms to the left were bare, the study packed tight with things but also empty, and his bedroom...well...

Voices carried though the house, which only amplified the solitude. You only had yourself for company. No wonder Hikaro had been so insistant Dian allow Raissen to stay...

Dian choked without warning, his throat tightening with emotion. Soundlessly he willed the thoughts away and focused on Catzi, who was displaying marvelous control as she balanced in heels on the balls of her feet. If she had seen his basement...

"I usually use marble, but haven't had the kind of money to spend on that recently. It's granite, cheap, but effective." he said, spouting off a little more than he had intended. The statue offered up little, just what was bared to her, and nothing else. A cool blue grey stone spattered with dark flecks. Granite was rarely a solid color.
"It's clean. You can touch it, if you like. Should be smooth." Dian said, working exceptionally hard to keep his voice even. His own hands had run over the smooth flesh a million times, forming it, hewing a life from a rock. It seemed the flesh would yield under the hand, but it was still just rock.

Catzi's hands were tender, and as they soundlessly roved the stone features, Dian shivered. He knew what her hands felt like, and it was simple transferrance. Yes, now that he thought about it, the granite man on the floor bore an odd resemblance to a human version of himself.

Her voice was suddenly very near to him, and Dian's eyes snapped open to reveal Cat had stood, and was now beside him. Brown hands reached up and took the file. As he held the manilla it warped under his hands quickly, suprising the young sculptor.

"Since I finished the Shiva commission, I've been out of work." He said quietly, no wonder his basement was so full, it had been several years since he'd last made a piece for someone else. Well, he worked at a forge, but that was making fences and silverware, and things like that.

"Wow, I'll look into this, thank you." Dian said quietly, smiling up at her. Perhaps work was what he needed. It would certainly keep him busy.
"Well, what have you been up to, recently? I hear your house is positively stuffed with little ragamuffins."
