This was WAY more than a bit awkward. Azubahiel couldn't quite remember if this was a normal part of toddlerhood or not; her toddler days were a blur to her. Her darling little daughter had, well....she was now a he. And 'Zuba wasn't sure whether she should be concerned or not. The split spawn picked up the phone, pausing as she flipped through her address/phone number book. Ebony babysat kids, so she might have some insight, right? She hoped so.
She dialed in the number and waited for her friend to answer. "Hello, Ebony?" she asked, her tone soft and calm. "Can I ask you a question about kids?"

The dancer blinked, having just gotten out of the shower as her phone rang. "Hm? Oh! Zuba! Hi! Sure, go ahead." what did the other girl need to know? The girl had heard both from Zuba and from Adhara that the other had a child now, but it couldn't be that confusing could it?

"Thanks." 'Zuba said in advance before pausing, thinking of how to word her question. "Do children normally change genders when they're toddlers?" she asked, hoping that she didn't sound as stupid as she felt.

Ebony gaped for a few moments, before collecting herself enough to reply. "No, no I don't believe so?" she said, cocking her head to the side a bit and sounding utterly confused. "Did your little girl become a little boy suddenly?"

'Zuba nodded at the phone before remembering that her friend couldn't see the gesture. "Yeah...Cabonna turned into a boy...." she said, worry starting to creep into her tone. "Was hoping it was normal... the parenting books don't cover this." She knew that for a fact; she'd checked all of hers over thrice-fold.

"Yes but parenting books also don't cover jumping in age several years at a time, so don't panic okay? I'll be right over." Ebby said, looking around for a pair of jeans and something to put on. Zuba sounded like she was going to have a panic attack and Ebony probably needed to be there to help out. Where was Adhi in all of this?

"Okay...." 'Zuba said, nodding. "Thanks, Ebby. See you in a bit." she added, her tone saturated with gratitude. She hung the phone up, looking across the living room to her little boy. The little candycane snake was preoccupied with playing with his dollies, much to busy to notice his mother's panic, thank goodness.

The purple skinned female arrived in no time and waited patiently to be let in. Poor Zuba was probably a wreck and who knows how the poor little one was feeling.

'Zuba answered the door, smiling a little at her friend. "Hey, Ebony." she greeted, stepping aside to let her friend in. "Thanks again for coming over. Sorry for bothering you." she apologized, a bit embarrassed. "Bonbon's right over there, by the couch."
The green-haired child looked up as his named was mentioned, a grin spreading across his little face. "Hi!" he greeted, grinning as he waved to the new person at the door.

"Hey Zu" Ebony greeted, hugging her friend quickly before going over to see the little one.
"Heya cutiepie!" she greeted, leaning down to hug Bonbon too, 'How're you?"

Cabonna grinned, hugging the nice new lady. "I good." he said, nodding once. "I C'bonna! Who you?" the toddler asked, tilting his head to the side. "You Momma Zu's friend?"
One thing 'Zuba was definitely thankful for: her little BonBon was still the same personality-wise. She closed the door, walking over to her friend and son. "BonBon, this my friend, Ebony. Ebony, this is my dau...my son, Cabonna." she said, catching herself.
"Auntie Eb!" the toddler said, giggling as he hugged his newly-dubbed aunt.
"Sorry about that, Ebby." 'Zuba said, chuckling once. "Sh-...he has a think with calling everyone relatives." Oh, this was SO going to take some getting used to.

"Yes, and Adhi's friend too." Ebony said with a smile, sitting down on the couch and pulling the little one into her lap. Such a little sweetie!
"It's okay, I don't mind being Auntie Ebby." the girl laughed, petting the snake child's hair idly. "How're you feeling today, BonBon?"

Cabonna giggled, quite happy with the attention. Then again, the little snake child was happy with just about anything. "Feel bit diff-ent. Hair shorter and voice changeded." He explained, then shrugged. "But I okies! Found shiny under couch!" The little boy held up a penny for his newly-dubbed auntie and momma to see.
'Zuba took a seat on the couch next to the purple spawn. "That's a pretty penny." she confirmed, nodding a smiling faintly. She knew she shouldn't be worried; Cabonna seemed completely fine. But, she couldn't help it. Ah, the joys of first-time mother anxiety. "So, what do you think?" she asked, looking to Ebony.

"I think it's a very pretty penny too." Ebby teased, reaching out to take it and waving her hand lightly. The little shiny coin vanished and she made a little o expression with her mouth, making her face seem like ^o^. "Where'd it go?"
"I think BonBon will be fine, don't worry about it, Zuba."

"I hope so." 'Zuba said, nodding. Her friend's assessment was definitely comforting, and got rid of most of her worry. Not all, but most. "Thanks for coming over....sorry for wasting you time, Ebby." she said sheepishly, feeling a bit embarassed. Seems she'd been worried over nothing.
BonBon's eyes widened, jaw dropping. "Penny? Here, pennypennypenny!" He called, flipping over so he was hanging over the edge of the couch, looking under. Maybe the penny had gone back home under there?
