Though many other fawns had been jumping up with joy and excitement. There had been one in the wood that just refused to use her legs. Instead. She took long long days just sitting. Oh. And when she moved.. It was a sight to see. The lil femme would wobble like a duck~ or. When there was a huge threat. Like. Another fawn. She'd roll right in to a bush.. away from prying others. At this time of day. She was curled up in the corner where the stream breezed by her... She stretched her neck and softly lapped the water.. In a calm tranquil way.. No mist.. no fog..

Magnus was exploring, he tried to do it as often as possible, and always alone. He hated for others to see how an errant root or an uneven patch of ground could make his footing falter. He hated when others realized he was blind, and worst of all he hated when the realization struck him. Over and over everyday he was reminded in small ways that he would never see, never know exactly what the colors were that others spoke of, or what others even really looked like. He knew shapes, smells, sounds, gestures, but to be able to see...no that he was constantly reminded was beyond him.

He moved steadily through the woods his legs making graceful sweeps and his ears moving to catch every small sound. His nose was on alert as well for any scents that could help him navigate. He picked up the faint moisture and the sound of running water and with a smile he picked his way to the stream and slowly bent his head. His nose touched ground, ground, ground, before finally plunging into cool fresh water. He smiled and drank his fill before lifting his head, the water evaporating quickly from his muzzle. His ear twitched and he knew he wasn't alone, but the sounds were tiny ones, a small woodland critter or a fawn?

When she dunked her head in.. Wiggling it and picking her head up happily.. Feeling out refreshing it made her.. she dunked it against until she opened her eyes in the water to see a lil.. black spot.. then red. Via inside the water. She wobbled on land as her head was still in the water.. nearer.. and nearer to the dark black object even though she could have easily lifted up her head and looked at the form. The small attention span of a fawn.. Holding her breath that whole time.. then poking the black dot with her nose under water. Noting. Her head and neck was the onlly thing under water as her body was on land and wobbling every which way. But once she was about to poke the black spot.. it disappeared. She squinted her eyes.. [c]

Confused... popping out her head and looking at the water. Parplexed and astonished. Confusion.. Poking her head in the water again.. to see if the black dot was there. Not noticing a BIT that the black thing was right next to her.. a young adult. But instead thought it was in teh water.. but she couldn't see it.. gasping for air then dunking her head in again with large cheeks of air.

Magnus slowly moved his head down and brushed the area where noises were being made, soft little splashes. "Hello?" He tried to inject confidence into his voice, but it was tough when he wasn't sure exactly what or who he was addressing.
He felt his nose brush something then and he inhaled, the scent of another herla hit him along with a small brush of familiarity, but he couldn't quite place it.

When she dunked her head in... she felt a nudge. Blinking her glowing eyes in the water. How could.. something nudge her OUTSIDE the water.. Confused.. she lifted her head and looked at what nudged her.. Following the black nose all the way up to a body.. Eyes went wide as she finished her anaylsis and basically flipped out. Wiggling around and catching herself unbalanced by her position ~right in to the water. Splashion around only to have her pores open wide and fog just pour out like a waterfall from them. Making it thick and flow like mist around her.. she could even make a small portion of a forest disappear with it if she was crowded and scared..

Wiggling around and catching herself unbalanced by her position ~ and like a turtle.. the surprise got to her and made her fall on her back. only to have her pores open wide and fog just pour out like a waterfall from them.. Making it thick and flow like mist around her.. she could even make a small portion of a forest disappear with it if she was crowded and scared.. She was found. And the only way to disappear was to make it foggy and make it unable to see to other deer~ and roll away to safety. But this time. She wobbled a bit to try and go to her legs but her brain did not process such things.

Turtle style she spend a few minutes moving from one side to the other to get momentum.. Determined and scared made it harder to operate this fawn- an escape root. But once she did get to her stomach she started to roll ~ right in to the bush. The bush rustling as she made it in. Wiggling a lil.. and the wiggling turned in to shivering instantly.

The scent of fog was the only thing that obscured Magnus, but the lack of sight was nothing new. He relocated the fawn easily by her shivering and rustling and he quickly nosed her again. "Hello?" He wondered curiously if perhaps she was incapable of speech or if he was confused and mistaking something for a herla that wasn't. He inhaled again deeply the fog making his nose twitch, but certainly this was a fawn and he nudged her again softly to assure himself.

"I know your there, you can at least answer me?" He frowned hating to think that some fawn was watching him, maybe laughing at his inability to spot it. He stepped a bit closer to it and slowly looked down trying to pretend he could see it, and trying to look right at it, perhaps fool it into thinking he could see. Often when he looked at the direction of others voices it took them a while to figure out he was blind at all.

She was shivering more.. And when he dipped down and touched her again. Her big glowing lavender eyes opened in terror. Almost scary looking like pappa. Those horns.. "Ah..ah.. ahhallo.." She inched away more but only stopped because her back hit a tree. her ears up as she inhaled and exhaled very deeply.. emitting more fog.. that usually would make others scare away.. but he went right through it and spotted her! "Ahh..I dun wanna die!!!!" She squeezed out and whimpered a little. Ears went down as she shivered more. "Dun hwurt me~" She squeaked.. closing her eyes tight as though he'd go away instantly when she opened them.

"I'm not going to hurt you...why is there someone trying to hurt you?" He frowned his tone harsh at the thought of anyone picking on a little fawn. Being unable to read expressions he had managed to learn to pick up local tones. She was female, young, and obviously very very afraid. He moved a bit closer to her and lowered his head slowly before moving to bend his legs under his body and lay down near her. Perhaps if he was down on the ground near her she wouldn't be so very afraid. "Whats your name little one?" He asked curiously sniffing at the fog, curious it hadn't been there before and it was fading a bit now.

Shivering and a lil click could be heard from her jaws even if her maw was closed.. but when his voice had softened to one that was familiar. Like.. Robin's... her ears went up.. "Yu-yuwr not gu-gunna hwurt me?" She whispered.. her head low as she looked up at him.. slowly rising her head and sniffing at him.. Her pores started to close.. but the fog was still there.. But it was now able to blow away within the wind.. still. They were now invisiable to any more prying eyes.. Ears went down as she sniffled a lil more. if he wanted to hurt her.. he'd be on his hooves. Not stomach. Blinking curiously and jerking her head back any time he moved. "Ah..ah.. Ash--e--rah~~~~" She tried not to studder.. which only happened when she was scared.. and nervous. Father said that strangers can be malicious.. though she didnt know what that meant.

"Was..as yuwors..?" Her ears went up.. her nervous were slowly easing.. slowly easing.. Before long like this.. she would be playful! But she still hadnt noticed he was blind. Nope.. but his blank stare at her almost made her shiver on the spot.

He could hear the stutter in her voice and he offered her a comforting smile, he knew how it felt to be different. Still she seemed a sweet little fawn and he wondered why she was so afraid, had someone hurt her? Why was she alone? He shook his head slowly, a gesture he had learned along with nodding when his mother had done it against his neck.
"I won't hurt you, maybe we can be friends?" He offered trying to put her at ease and understand her fear. "Asher? I'm Magnus." He might have placed some more enthusiasm into his tone, but he felt it might simply frighten her. It seemed his usual calm tone inherited from both his parents went a long way towards soothing the trembling fawn.

Something about him.. Maybe his looks.. Something was familiar.. a bond was already forming without her even knowing it.. and slowly.. she moved closer.. but by wiggling closer. She.. would never walk. Not until she stopped being scared of falling. "Furrends?" Her ears went up again.. her glowing eyes examining him. "Magnus. Can be friends.. we me..? No hurting or stomping on .. rwight?" She chirped.. hope fully coming out in her words.. Slowly she edged towards him like a duck.. her tail wagging.. but slipping through making 'whishing' sounds.. like a snake on the ground.

He stretched his neck out slowly until the tip of his nose touched her softly. "No hurting...no stomping, I wouldn't let anyone stomp you, why are you afraid of that? Did someone try to hurt you Asher?" He slowly pulled back now that he had figured out where she was. What had her so afraid he wondered. His ears perked at the sound her tail made but he quickly noticed the subtle differences and proximity. Odd though, she was lower then a fawn would be standing, and the sounds she was making were not the soft clop of hooves. Had someone hurt her so badly she couldn't even stand up?

When he touched her.. her cheeks became a soft lavander color.. but easily slipped away when he spoke and her attention was all on him. "They don't see me.. so they stomp and tramble me." She whispered.. her ..felt kind. And out of instinct rubbed her cheek against the nearest part of his body before lowering her head to look at him. He sometimes looked directly at her.. but sometimes not. Thinking she may have upset him or she was to ugly to look at.. Knowing a distaste for her look was among others that chirped around a certain lady deer. "But.. I dont think they can help it.." Her voice was soft.. sometimes studdery .. her long waving hair always remaining to look as though it was floating.. when really it was just the mist holding up the hair.. "They can't see me!" Her nervousness spouting.. but then she looked away. "I don't want them too.. their so scary.."

Poor thing, she was trampled, no wonder she was so afraid of being stomped. How odd though that others didn't even use their sight as they should, that he should have sensed this trembling little fawn with his eyes. He focused back on her voice, but again she seemed so low and he slowly lifted his head up a bit towards where a standing fawn would be. "You stay down...so they can't see you?" He lowered his head again realizing she was on the ground.

"Who's scary? The other herla?" He couldn't tell her they weren't after all he had never seen the others. He had heard his mother called beautiful and he assumed his sister was a beauty as well. His mother had told him he was handsome, but didn't all parents think their children beautiful? He had no clue how to measure how frightening the herla might be to one who could see them.

She softly curled close to him and wagged her snake like tail.. whishing.. Nodding agaisnt his leg.. Of his questioning her lowered body. But.. she also couldn't walk. She wobbled. "There is another reason by yes that is .. the mostest reasons." Looking up at him,... those glowing eyes.. "Yes... other herla are scary..their so big.. and scary.." No real reason why they are. "Their so many of them too.. and I feel like im can't breath.." Slowly the thick fog cleared.. almost to none except the usually that was around her to keep her hair afloat. Like him with his blindness.. She didn't like others to know she can't walk.. she kinda just made up something...

He smiled as he felt her curl close and inhaled curiously as the foggy smell slowly faded. He lowered his head slightly to hear her soft words and smiled at her innocent speech. Poor thing, she was just afraid of a big wide world, it was as unknown to her as it was to his blind eyes. So many dangers, pitfalls, scary things unknown that could trip him up, and probably do worse to her. "You like your space hmm? I can't blame you, especially since the others are bigger, but you'll be big too someday you know?"

"I don't wanna be big! I dun want to .. their scary!" She looked at him almost distressed and shivering at the even thought of it. "And if pappa is around I just scuddle under his tummy. Because no one would stomp on him.. he is really big! But he isn't scary.. he is nice." Nodding happily.. then softly she placed her head on the other again.. Nudging in to the soft fur but skin like.. it reminded her of her father and gave her some sort of comfort..

"I'm sorry little one, but you can't stop growing...but your not scary." He softly nuzzled her in reassurance then smiled, ahh so she did have parents to protect her. He was glad to hear that, glad she wasn't alone in the world. He must be like his mother, to want to protect and care for the small and the innocent. He knew his mother would like this little fawn.
"No one should stomp you either, it's not nice of them, they should pay attention."

"thats ha ha ahorrible." Snorting a lil and shaking her head. Chirping and making clicking like noises that her friend Robin had shown her. He spoke.. the language of birds and they were fot pretty sounds. "They cant pay attention.. when they cant see me." She said half heartedly.. and off handed like.

"Then you should stand up and make yourself be seen...I'm sure that would keep others from doing things like stomping on you." He nodded softly against her giving a soft chuckle at the noises she made. "You have a sweet voice."

Before she said anything. She stared up in to his eyes.. just staring as if to find out if she should tell him her lil secret. Most knew when she retorted and made herself invisible.. but. After a sweet compliment. What coudl she do? ".....I can't walk." She curled in to a ball even more.

He listened carefully to her wondering why she couldn't walk. Would she learn someday or was she forever destined to lay or sit unable to find her footing.
He smiled softly for her, "Well...if you keep it a secret...I can't see..."

"Can't see? Whaaa?" She leaned up to his face.. Blinking and just staring. "But.. you looked at me.. and stuff. I saw you!" Rather confused and if there was such a think as to be blind? Slowly she wedged her way closer to him and poked her nose right on his. Staring with big giant glowing eyes. "You...really can't see me?"

He chuckled softly but inside he was relieved that he had been able to fool her for a bit. So many seemed to realize right away how useless his eyes were despite his attempts to keep the weakness hidden. "I've learned to move my head towards the sound of others, it seems to make them unhappy when I talk facing the wrong way. My mother taught me little ways to walk or move so it would seem as if I could see.." He didn't mind explaining it to her, especially if his own shortcomings gave her a bit more confidence about her own, though she didn't really seem to have any besides her timidity. Of course he knew that would probably pass and she would grow into a confident and graceful doe.

"I really can't..." He replied his eyes staring straight at her despite being unable to see even a shadow of her infront of him.

Making a funny face as she moved back and had oen ear up and one ear down. Her head tilted with her tongue hanging out.. To giggle with him as if he would say he was joking.. But. Asherah's face instantly turned concerned and yet sad.. Nothing of pity could understand how she felt.. It ... made her almost cringe inside as if it was a big blow to the stomach.. Softly.. she nuzzled his snout.. Rubbing her's against his softly then poked her nose back to his. "That's so sad.. not even a little.. your so talented.. I wouldn't has guessed at all. I've NEBER met anyone like you before." She moved her head back. Lowering her head to his chest and wobbling over to him so her so she could nuzzle him along his neck. It was so sad.. Her heart feeling as though it was cracking.. "Your mother.. I thank her so much!" She looked up brightly. "I thank her so much because she taught you that and you don't have to feel bad because.. because." She looked around.. and absorbed it a moment.. "I CAN BE YOUR EYES!" She sqawked.. It could be able to scared him.. I mean she was calm and instantly cried it out. Her head went up and so did her ears. 'Because.. because thats what friends do!" Estaticly and almost in a different state in which he found her. Shy and scared of everything.. When you finally found what was under the fog..you'd be a fawn that was full of heart.. and soul.

He waited in silence until he felt her nose and softly returned the nuzzle. He could hear the sadness in her voice, it was touching, but also upsetting. He didn't want her pity, or anyones he just wanted to have a normal life. He was glad when she thanked his mother and smiled. "There are probably others like me, everyone is a little different Asher. I don't feel bad though, I can still do everything I want to in life, and I have a wonderful family."

He chuckled as she burst out with her suggestion and despite managing pretty well on his own he couldn't turn her down. Her offer was so sweet and sincere he nodded. "Alright, I'll keep you safe and you can be my eyes, you'll have to use as many words as you can to describe things to me though!" He added with a smile.
"Your a good friend Asher" He softly pressed his leg to pull her closer and nuzzle the top of her head. "We'll be best friends." He knew the words were silly but he knew they would probably make Asher happy, she was a fawn best friend was probably the best compliment she would understand.

She knew of some differences in others. Like how Robin was more .. polite and mature in some ways.. and Flora was amazingly attractive to everyone. Everyone loved her! There was another.. femme but she was tall and had long pretty hair. Everyone was all over her too and everyone seemed happy around her. A natural attraction where as.. Asherah felt. THAT was different in her. She didn't attract everyone.. unlike many of her 'friends'. Thinking everyone was a friend. She nodded.. "Because your amazing.." She whispered. Nodding.. she wouldn't even think how hard it would be to manage everything blind.. Like.. did that mean your eyes didn't work at all? Or..

She smiled from one end to the next.. except with words to 'show' him. Oh.. she had forgot about that part.. "Woah.. words. I think Imma have to.. learn a little more then.." She tried a pethedatic smile.. Aww.. she felt like he was safe anyways.. right from when she flipped out earlier at him. Well... not really. Scared to death of the size and look.. but of course.. he was gentle.. and now.. She had her own protector! But that didn't exactly amaze her like his next workds did.. almost off guard.. She blushed.. thick.. of pink.. And teh soft nuzzle made her melt and curl up against him even more. "Wow.. a good friend? Wow...We'll be the bestest friends ever!" She chirped and made soft bird noises.. the ones that Flora's brother showed her.. And the birds also did as well. Her tail unknowingly curling around his leg.. It wasn't like flora's tail. She was a bit on teh odd side but Magnus looked as though he had the same so she didn't feel a bit out of place. Not here.. "I'll be your eyes.." Looking up slightly.. now that she took his sight in. His familiarity.. made him look warm.. and cozy. Almost like pappa. Giggling and making some mist emit just ever so softly to make her hair float up and swirl around.. It was long enough to cover her eyes if she wasn't paying attention.. Or hide.

Slowly he moved to lay down around her the was she tangled herself so close made him aware of how small and fragile she really was. He held back a laugh as the mist caused her hair to float up the soft tips brushing him. He could smell the fog now, a unique scent he would place for Asher. He let her tuck herself close and slowly moved his head down to blanket her. "You have plenty of time to learn all the words in the world, for now you should just rest."

He knew once she woke he'd have to send her off lest her parents worry. Still he didn't mind stealing a little more time to let her rest, the little fawn had tugged his heart and made him feel...important. He slowly closed his eyes despite not needing to, it like so many things was just something he had learned to do at the right times.
