Kamaria Mizuki loved night time more than anything in the world. It was the one time she could just look at something and feel at peace. The night was a time she didn't have to worry what others thought, and the moment she could just be herself. The self no one outside her had ever seen. The night sky bought out the best her, though she never knew why that was. Deep inside though she felt a connection to it, and maybe that was due to her wondrous markings. The marking of the stars, or that was she called them anyways. The only thing was no one was ever able to see her shine as brightly as she did at night...

"I wish I may ... I wish I might ... have this wish ... I wish tonight ..." Kamaria Mizuki whispered to the glowing night stars, as she lay on her back in the soft green grass. Instead of saying her wish out loud though, she kept it in mind. For what she wished more than anything was that she could show one person this side of her. The side she loved more than, the one that wasn't trying hard to fit in or feeling lonely in the sunshine.

"So stars ... think my wish has a chance?" She giggled as she glanced towards the stars brightly shining. Not noticing anything around her, but the sky above her head and the things it contained.

Borealis was tired, not physically but mentally. For almost a year he had been searching for his sister. His sister he had never actually laid eyes on, his sister that he had no idea what she looked like, his sister that he didn't know if she was alive or not. A phantom that tugged at the dark place in his soul that said he was missing a half of himself. His twin. It was nearly a year since his mother told him about his missing twin, shortly before her death, and he still had not found her. Borealis was certain that when he met her he would know her, something would spark inside him, besides she would at least look familiar after all he took after their father rather then their white mother.

He pondered his current situation as he traveled slowly across the grasslands. Navigating the the occasional hole and tree by star light since the moon was almost new, only a small sliver of it remained to light the grass in a silvery light. Even though the moon gave off so little light the stars provided plenty so Borealis followed the path of the stars, a path that was quite clear.

Traveling north the dark serval spotted a particularly bright star and couldn't help but to say a phrase taught to him by his superstitious mother; "Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight..." He fell silent as he made his wish, even though he kept moving towards that bright north star. He hoped that one day he would find his sister but deep in his heart he knew that right then he wished that he was no longer alone in the wide world.

Kamaria Mizuki couldn't help but wonder do wishes really come true? As much as she trusted the stars, she just hoped they wouldn't let her down this time around. She had been hiding her true self for so long a time now. Though now she knew she could hide no longer, and just as she was about to roll back on to her feet.

She heard a voice, one that was wishing on the stars just as she had. This person was using her favorite I wish I may I wish I might speech. Though now that she thought of it just how far away was this person? Were they close or were they far away from where she stood now. As she whispered under her breath, "I wonder what they had wished for." The possibilities she knew were endless since there were so many things in this world one could wish for.

The ideas of all the different wishes flowed through her head like a bolt of lightning had hit her. Though then she woke back up to reality, and realized something. Maybe this random voice she heard was the stars way of helping with her loneliness. She knew now she couldn't pass it up, so she whispered into the star bright night, "Hello? Is anyone out there?" Right after she said those words she laid waiting for a response.

Maybe because Borealis heard the voice because he was secretly hoping to hear it or maybe because the night wind that had been playing around with his fur and the grass quieted down right then, almost as if destiny itself stilled it. At first he thought it was the stars themselves talking to him which really sort of freaked him out, after all they don't normally talk. But after a moment of stillness where there was no abnormal sounds Ali realized that it was someone else out in the grass that spoke, which wasn't nesasarly better but he had a feeling that who ever was out there was nice.

"Hello? I know someone is out their.... Did I just imagine it?" Ali really hoped that he hadn't imagined it since maybe it was someone who could relive the vast emptiness that had been growing steadily since his mother died.

As soon as Kamaria heard the voice answer her call back, her eyes began to sparkle. The voice sounded nice enough at least to her. Then thoughts began to run though her head, should she answer? If so just how should she answer the voice, since inside she didn't want to frighten them away so soon. Then she realized it, why she'd answer the person as herself! It was as good an idea as any, and it was definitely worth a shot.

"Hello there, and no you didn't imagine it. Though I very may well have," she said with a giggle as she rolled over back onto her belly. As her eyes began to scan the grass for the owner of the voice in the starlit night. Now she was sure she didn't dream the voice, though where was this person hiding she wondered to herself.

"Hello and nope you didn't imagine me either. I'm as real as the ground beneath your paws." Borealis took a few steps closer to where he heard the voice coming from, and a rustling as the owner of the voice moved around. The voice sounded nice and that giggle made him think female, after all he didn't know a male who giggled but then again he didn't know many to begin with.

He walked slowly and deliberately through the grass, his markings glowing slightly in the starlight. Ali stopped suddenly when he came upon a female who looked like a sunset. Her back nearly blended with the starry sky, it just needed to be a few shades darker, while her paws were this light violet of the sky shortly after the sun finally sinks below the horizon. "Oh. Hello." He said softly.

"Well good I'm glad," Kamaria said in reply as a smile grew on her face. It was definitely good to know she wasn't imagining things out here late at night. As she listened more closely to the voice she could tell one thing and that one thing was that they sounded nice and friendly. Plus in her mind anyone who wishes on stars is bound to be a wonderful person, since she didn't know many who still did that aside from her.

Quieting her movement she heard the grass close to her move. As soon as she heard it she turned in its direction, and noticed the speaker of the voice. A male had come into her sight, and a look of shock grew in her eyes as she overlooked him. He was stunning! He looked just like the sky on a perfect night she thought, as she saw his blue coloring on his upper back. Then she glanced towards his paws, and saw something she couldn't quite believe. he had star like markings just like her. Though his were .. glowing in the starlight. It was as if he was connected with the stars, and that amazed her leaving her slightly speakless.

"Um ... uh ... hi," she said a bit softly with a smile. As she turned her head slightly to the side before continuing,"I'm Kamaria ... and to be honest I'm still shocked to find anyone else out here this late at night." She had to turn her face to the side since she didn't want to scare him away with all her staring.

Borealis smiled along with her. "Its nice to meet you Kamaria, I'm Borealis. I guess I can understand that after all most are sleeping by the time the moon reaches it's zineth." He looked up at said moon, or what there was of it. "But it seems that we are not most." He glanced back at her and smiled again before siting a discrete distance away, after all most disliked being crowded and Ali didn't want to make Kamaria feel uncomfortable. "I was just wandering by the stars, it always seems as if I travel better by starlight. That and I get to think things through in the silence of the grasslands. And you Kamaria? Why might you be out here this late at night?" He looked at her then away again back to the stars.

Kamaria listened to his words with great thought and replied, "It’s nice to meet you to, Borealis. Though that’s true we don't seem to be like most." She finished with a giggle, as she glanced towards him and watched as he took a seat. She took one step a bit closer towards him, but not to close. "He actually seems kind of nice," her mind thought as she looked towards the stars that were like her family. As the breeze came passing by, it was at the exact moment he took her breath away with what he had just said. Taking one look at him with disbelief," you travel by starlight...?!" She couldn't believe what she was hearing; another person traveled the same way she did! Night was the only time she really traveled, if she traveled at all. Night time was just the perfect time to travel, you had the stars as companions, and you could think without worries. "Well ... to be completely honest I'm out here tonight wishing on the stars...it’s kind of childish I know ... but I feel as if the stars are the one person in my life that will always listen and occasionally grant my dreams." Smiling like a young pup she took a seat where she stood. As she looked towards him, she slightly glanced towards the stars and all she could think was maybe they had just answered her wish sooner than she had hoped...

"Yup." Borealis smiled over at Kamaria then elaborated. "I find that I can get most of my sleep in the hot hours of noon and the few hours of rest I take deep in the night. In the daylight I have to meet too many others when I really just want to be with my thoughts." He laughed lightly. "There is one benefit other then the solidarity of the night and that is meeting others like you." He glanced back at her and realized that she had come a bit closer and he was oddly pleased about that.

"Wishing on stars? If it's childish then we both were childish after all I was wishing on the stars as well. I always thought that they were like our most precious dreams that the gods placed up there so we can always see what we are striving so hard to get. And that they are not just inanimate objects but beings that do listen to us and give us comfort when ever possible." Borealis believed that at any given time the stars could be a dozen different things and who could say he was wrong after all he was just a small insignificant mortal.

"Me too!" Kamaria said with a bright smile appearing on her face and a slight laugh herself. Maybe tonight really was a gift from the stars, since never in her whole life had she ever met someone who liked the same things she did. Even the family memories she had when she was younger, all she could remember was not really belonging. Though right now she felt home, like she could actually talk with someone and understand everything they mean. It was a wonderful feeling building up inside of her! "I feel the same way. Like sometimes in the day time when I do meet people, and I'm not myself around them. Since all I really want to do is be by myself and think," Kamaria said under her breath as she continued. "Though at night when the stars are shining, its impossible for me to be anyone but me." She glances towards the stars and knew that it was true. Out her in the starlight she was only herself, no fake pretender just her.

"Though wait ... you were wishing on the stars too...?" She was stunned, for she thought surely no one else would wish on the stars since it was a long shot for dreams. "Though your right I believe stars are meant for us to be able to realize what were going for. While at the same time giving us someone to talk and rely on. Someone who will never leave your sight night but will always show you the light in the darkness," she said with a slight childish giggle hoping he understood what she meant. "Though if you don't mind me asking, what were you wishing on the stars for Borealis?" Kamaria questioned as she had just said the question she had began to wonder the moment he said he wished on the stars too. Cocking her head to the side, she awaited his wonderful answer while at the same time her heart inside glowed bright. She was being herself and she felt as if she never want him to leave.

Borealis nodded and watched as she talked, her face lit by the stars that it seemed they both loved. He knew that such interest was not very common so finding one so like him was special, add to the fact that Kamaria seemed to pop up right when he truly needed someone made him think that just maybe the stars or even the gods were guiding his paws that night. "To be one's self only in the light of the stars.... " He trailed off realizing that maybe that last part was for Kamaria's ears only. He gave her a sheepish look and said, "Sorry."

"Yeah. My mother always told me to 'Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.'(W. Clement Stone) but I always find that the moon never really was all that special since, you know, it fades in and out where the stars are always there. Twinkling and sparkling, each special in its own way." He smiled at her giggle, it was cute. When she asked what he wished for he said, "But if I tell you then it might not come true." He smiled and laughed softly before lapsing into silence.

"To be truthful I asked that I would find my sister but I'm not sure if that was my real wish." Borealis glanced at her and something inside of him whispered that maybe his true wish was granted but he wasn't ready to admit it to himself let alone to another, a relative stranger even if he felt like he knew Kamaria forever. Shaking off his strange thoughts he smiled, shakily, and turned her question back on her, "So what did you wish for?"

As soon as the words left his mouth she was speechless. He'd just summed her whole person up in just a few words. It began to make her wonder just who was this Borealis? An why was he so perfect and understanding? He was special that much she knew for sure. "No need to say sorry, thats exactly who I am after all."

Not quite sure what to say after her speechless moment. She just been to speak the first thing that came to her mind. "Your mother was wise then, and your right I think the same thing. Plus the stars are always watching over us, even when the moon leaves to sleep," Kamaria was really being to greatly enjoy his company. They talked as if they'd known each other for eternity, even though they'd just met. Deep inside her heart she was beginning to really wish he'd never have to leave. She wanted this night to last forever...but soon she was brought back to reality by his voice speaking of wishes. "True it might not but I think the stars are a little nicer than that," she said with a smile as she waited to see what he would say next.

"Your sister? Well that is something good to ask for no doubt," shesaid knowing family was always a good thing to have close. Though she wasn't sure if he would want to talk about that she decided to change the subject. "...but why do you not think that was your real wish?" Kamaria asked curiously as she awaited his answer.

She was slightly surprised by his question but she just smiled and glanced towards the sky. "Well this might sound silly after hearing your wish but ... I wished for someone I could share this side of me with," she said closing her eyes slightly as a smile grew on her face. Deep indie she always hated not being herself to others, but she was always worried that if she did they might not like her. All she ever wanted was to be accepted and by meeting this male, she was starting to believe that maybe just maybe she had gotten exactly what she wanted. "I'm starting to think the stars actually granted my wish already. So I think its okay to say it outloud," she said accidently with a slight giggle.

Borealis laughed softly, "My mother would be shocked and pleased at being called wise." His mood turned dark for a moment, "I would say that while she was smart she was too superstitious." After all it was because of his mother's faulty believes of omens and fate that made him grow up without his sister. True he did not know of her until his mother was dieing but that still did not excuse her from her abandonment of her new born cub. When Kamaria said that the stars were kinder then that he knew she was referring to his whole 'if I tell you' comment but at that moment it felt like she was meant that the stars were kinder then his mother thought.

"Yeah but its been so long..." He trailed off gazing into the stars. "Its just a feeling I have. After all its been a long time since I started searching and it seems like maybe there is something that I want more." He glanced over at her as he finished his sentence.

"Thats not silly after all I think we all wish we can find that one other who we can be our selves with even if we are not alike. The perfect souls that meet and it seems like the stars align." Borealis was still looking at Kamaria. "Maybe mine as well. My hearts true wish." He said this softly wondering if just maybe it wouldn't hurt to stop looking to just stay here with her.

Kamaria smiled, "Really? Well I can't believe people didn't tell her that more often with words like those." As soon as she finished speaking, she noticed his mood had changed just a little bit. His mood seemed just a little darker, "Oh I see, well to much superstition isn't always bad is it? After all I think I may be a bit superstitious myself," as soon as she said that she giggled a bit trying to lighten the mood a bit. "I mean I used to believe that one day the stars would guide me to a family I can call my own. Since it kind of gets lonely, being all on your own sometimes." When the words left her mouth she realized she had never in her life told anyone that. Everyone she had ever met assumed she had a family and even if she didn't she never got lonely. Though here she was trusting someone enough to tell the truth of how she felt...

"Sounds like me and my search to belong. Though no matter how long, its been I'm sure the stars are watching over her and keeping her safe," Kamaria said with a smile on her face. As she took her gaze to the same place his was for a moment. Until she heard him begin to speak again and took her gaze back to his face, "Really? Like what kind of something?" she asked curiously still looking at him and smiling brighter than she ever had in her whole life.

"Y-o-u ... you do?" Kamaria stuttered slightly, but happily as he got half way through his sentence. He understood just what she meant and didn't think she was silly. As she continued to listen, as he got towards the end of his sentence she was speechless. "...The stars aligning ... like our souls meeting one another on this wonderful starlit night," she said kindly before continuing quietly.
Due to his wonderful words, her mind had began to wonder and she couldn't help but to say what she was thinking. "To be honest tonight feels like a fairytale for me, one that I never want to end..." she whisper under her breath, unsure if it was loud enough for him to hear. Though as the words came out, for some reason her cheeks began to turn rose colored red as she looked toward Borealis. She had this feeling inside of her she had never felt before. "Well I hope they did, since when wishes are granted they always make the person feel happy I think," she spoke as she turned her head a bit trying to hide her rosey cheeks from sight.
