As each day passed I felt like I changed. Its harder to control the so called darkness that lurks within me. Darkness exists within every man, woman and child. According to Lord of the Flies, rules and civilization keeps the darkness at bay. But I felt as though no matter how hard I tried to follow even the silliest of rules, the darkness wouldn't die down.
In my dreams I could see him. The mysterious creature who seems to always show up at the right time. He told me that I had a gift. The gift to control darkness. But it comes at a price as I must sometimes force myself to hold back the darkness which can cause extreme stress on my mind, heart and soul. I had no clue what the hell it meant, but I felt as though I could relate. Its whats been happening since I was twelve.
On a Monday morning I was forced to walk to school. James and Leo had left yearly and Tom slept over at a friend's house the weekend before. So I was walking on the sidewalk by myself in my jean capris, long, red, short sleeved, collared shirt and my dad's black tie.
I wasn't alone for long. Zéj was suddenly behind me. I've gotten used to him sneaking up on me. I didn't bother turning around because he'd be gone. Something told me he's the one who always finds himself invading my dreams and rescuing me. I didn't want to tell him what I felt. Where's the fun in that?
"You could just walk on t'he side of me." I said rolling my eyes.
"You're getting good." He said appearing beside me.
I turned to catch a glimpse at him. He wore is usual emerald eyes and a white collared shirt, black jeans, black tie and chain belt.
"Nice outfit. I'm actually impressed.....But now I hate you."
"Why?"
"Cuz you wearin' a black tie and I'm wearin' a black tie."
"At least I'm wearing shoes." He pointed out.
I stopped walking and looked down at my feet. My shoes weren't there. Letting out a sigh and blowing my bang off my forhead, I continued walking. All Zéj could do was laugh and keep walking along.
Different POV
As Zéj tried to keep up with Kelly's slow pace approaching the school, he sensed a disturbance. He shot a slightly worried glance at Kelly to see her pause in fear, but quickly shake it off. They walked up the stairs to the entrance of the school. Zéj could sense them watching. Luckily so was Giratina.
In the Reverse World, Giratina observed through random bubbles floating around. He could see Diomus' underlings watching from the shadows. They wouldn't strike as they weren't powerful enough to show themselves in the humand world. Zéj was one of the sons of the most powerful demon in existence. Automatcially that gave him the power to appear human when he please although he's going against his father's wishes.
Giratina looked at Kelly for the first time.
"Possibly she is a child of the moon. Born of darkness, but raised by light."
I felt like I was being watched as I opened my locker. I hated that feeling. I was reaching for my flip flops when something caught my eye in the locker's mirror. I gasped. The bizarre serpentine like figure was gone as quickly as it came.
My life just gets weirder and weider.
The bell rang and I made my way to my first class, Literature.
The day went by rather quickly. Before I knew it, school was over and Zéj and I were sitting in my living room finishing homework. I didn't realize how late it was. It was almost 8 pm and my brothers had not yet returned home.
"Its gettin late. You should go 'fore my brothers get home and James lectures me." I said clearing away the books from off the table.
"Yea you're right." He said gathering his things and heading to the front door.
I unlocked the door and let Zéj out. After he left, I began closing the curtains. As I was closing the curtainsat the sliding door, the door opened on its own and a large gust of wind blew through my straightened hair and blew the bangs out of my face.
On the ocean's horizon a full moon was emerging. The second the moon began rising, I felt sick; like my power and strength was being drained. Worst of all, I heard growling. I quickly closed the door to fend off the invisible danger. But it was too late. The growling was coming from behind me. I slowly turned around and saw nothing. But something was definitely there, preying on me.
I backed up toward the sliding door as I heard the vicious creature advance in my direction. My heart pounded. My H2O regeneration powers can't help. I close my eyes to expect the worst. But out of the blue, something like tendrils grabbed me from behind and pulled me into a void.
