Midnight wings spread wide through the dark air as the heavy creature glided above the slumbering lands. Despite his pelt of toxic hues and markings, the night skies provided all the stealth he needed. The only clue any would have of his presence would be the strong flap of his leathery wings. With glowing eyes narrowed against the wind, Soul peered down below, trying to perceive passed the silhouette of trees for any hint of prey. And while he had flown over small herds of soquili earlier, frankly the stallion was in no mood to hear others scream.

Slowly dropping his altitude, Soul grunted as he noticed a nearby shimmer caught by the moon. It was a lake, and one of the largest ones known in these lands. How interesting, he had never come across it himself, and to imagine he found it in the dark. Tilting his wings at a hard angle, the male cut across the sky as if to dive upon the mirror surface. However the male also didn't want to bathe in freezing water either. It wasn't until he found a simple cove that he kicked out his legs and made a jogging landing upon the ground. Hooves sank in the sand, despite the baby grasses that meagerly grew there. The shadows of birds sprouted up into the sky, along with their sudden cries alarm. Unperturbed, the kalona marched along the water's edge, almost sleep walking if it wasn't for his hunger. It was time for a midnight snack, no doubt.

With the night settled in the skies above him, Khajag blended perfectly with the green foliage around him. The night brought a cool chill down the stallion's spine. No matter how much he traveled during the night, he still could not shake the feeling of danger lurking in the darkness. The moon brought some comfort, lighting the lands enough that he could see. Still, if something popped out of the underbrush, he would spook and panic a bit. It didn't happen too often, but it did happen before.

The stallion continued on in the darkness with no destination in mind, and wandering aimlessly through the lands. Wandering through meadow and forests, he came upon a lake. His eyes scanned the area before him, approaching with caution before his eyes locked on the kalona male before him. His coat was dark, and his neon markings made him more visible under the moon's light. The stallion had no clue if the kalona stallion could smell his presence, and wondered if he should keep his presence unknown until the kalona did notice him. He felt a hint of fear for the stallion before him, but would give him the benefit of a doubt that he wouldn't truly hurt him.

His attention perked, hearing the birds sprout out from the ground and into the sky. He found that quite odd, mostly because he would have thought that the birds would be nestled in their homes and asleep. Of course, he couldn't say he was familiar with all the birds, but that was just his experience.

Spreading his wings to their fullest, Soul gave a bemused sneer as the other winged creatures fluttered in a panic from the very sight and smell of him. A meager but empowering event none the less, to see such results from other creatures. And how lucky they were that Soul Lexis had no care to pursue after them. Unlike a fair share of other Kalonas, Soul had way too much fun pestering rather than destroying his toys. Well, for a short time that is.

Done with his act and still rather bored from his sleepy state, the stallion withdrew his wings to his sides, creating a fairly normal Soquili silhouette to those not paying close attention. Hooves moved forward through the muddy grass and his tail followed like a snake in the shallow waters beside him. Such a quiet lake, perhaps there'd be an easy slumbering meal to hook from below the surface? However....

Finally bothering to tune into his other senses, the colorful Kalona straightened his neck and sent sharp eyes peering into the darkness to his side. There was some living scent out there, large and fresh enough to be noticed above the pond musk. With his tail curling in energy and his muses ever tickled for being a nosy pest, the Kalona stepped away from the pond with strong but slow steps. It might very well be another predator to be cautious around, but Soul would acknowledge that fact after discovering just what the other participant was.

From the edge of the forest, Khajag watched the kalona male scare off the birds. He was still apprehensive about the stallion, not sure if he would be dangerous or not. How fair would it be to judge another based on their breed? There had to be some deviations to the general characteristics of the breed, right? It was in their right to be their own individual, at least, that's what he believed.

Seeing the kalona stallion approach him, his mouth pursed as he weighed the options of what to do. He could go on forward to meet the stallion, but what if the generalizations were correct? He still had the will to live, and live his life to the fullest. Just seeing the kalona peer straight at him in the darkness made him shiver with fear, and quickly, he tried to shake off the fear. Taking in a deep breath, he suppressed any fear that he might have possibly felt for the stallion before him.

Khajag took a step forward away from the forest's edge that provided him shade from the moonlight. His dark coat blended well into the forest with his teal markings on a dark coat. Stepping into the moonlight revealed his position to the kalona, and stood there with slight hesitance as well as a posture of courage.

Oh, was that all? Just another soquili stallion roaming the night? His luck could be worse perhaps, if he tried to look at the positives. At least the other wasn't some boring creature like an Usdia or human. Those were short entertainments, what with their feeble legs and small statures. Here, at least, was another individual he could see eye to eye. Even if it was still just a normal soquili.

Furling his wings together tightly, the Kalona melded the wings to his sides as he walked. The only sound of his approached was the tail behind him, slicing and lashing across the taller grasses like a restless mongoose. His eyes glowed like an emerald gem in the night, their sights set on the individual before him and judging his body language. Hn, what an impressive idiot. Standing there like a brave statue before the bright kalona. Did he have a death wish this very night?

Muzzle pulling in a grin, Soul took his final step just feet from the green stallion. Hmmm, what to say first? Or what was that saying....silence can be so loud? Yeah, he'd try that tactic. Clearing his face of all emotions, Soul then attempted to do a daunting stare down with the other.

Khajag tried to stare hard at the other kalona, really he did. As soon as he met the daunting gaze of the kalona, his facade quickly faltered and he looked down to the ground beneath him. His ears flicked back momentarily in his embarrassment that he couldn't hold up his courageous attitude.

Trying to calm his frayed nerves, he decided to try and speak to the kalona stallion. "W-what bring you out here?" He asked in a soft tone, trying to steady his nervous voice.

Aw, sweet defeat even if it was so easily won over. Soul gave a scoffing laugh, like a crow hidden in the night, before sauntering over to the submissive soquili. "And so the lamb looks down in fright, does he?" The Kalona's tail poised behind him with a curl, much like how a feline's tail would tease in the air. Just what should he do with this lone individual? He'd make a decent meal, well into three days worth. But Soul found mind games to be so much more fun before a hunt.

"And yet here you are, asking about my own adventures. You'd be better trying to plan your own at this moment, wouldn't you agree?" As he spoke, the male walked in a wide and slow circle, if nothing but to intimidate the green fellow. And inspect if he had any visible weak points for a quick attack.

Khajag felt his brows furrow together. "L-lamb? What are you talking about?" He stuttered out, thinking that he was not lamb, otherwise his fleece would be as white as snow and he would have a fleece. The stallion didn't answer his question on purpose. He was a nervous wreck by nature, and to even let thi Kalona know he was getting to him could be the end of him? He really didn't know. It was his first time dealing with a kalona on his own.

The stallion watched the kalona cautiously. "S-should I? W-what's wrong with it here?" He asked, glancing about the area quickly before refocusing on the kalona. He could sense the danger rolling off of the stallion, but what was he supposed to do? Running could encourage him to take him down, right? Would rationalizing with him be better? He really didn't know.
