We begin our journey with the root. The basic idea of God Modding, is to do something that is in some way impossible without logic or understanding. Which brings me to auto hit. Auto hit is the most basic form of God Mod. Basically an auto hit, is making your attack, and without giving the opponent the chance to respond, continuing your action, with the assumption that you hit. Unlike most forms of modding, this is acceptable in certain cases, such as the victim being unable to counter. But you must at all times allow them to react. Thus leading to auto kill. Much like auto hit, auto kill is the act of killing your opponent without giving them the chance to react. This one is also justifiable, but with much more strict requirements. If your opponent wants to act like a d**k because of this, then this will lead to both fighters auto dodging. Unlike the other autos, this is not affected by your opponent. Auto dodging is the act of completely ignoring something your opponent did, and making your own attack instead. Simply dodging an attack with no explanation as to how also fits this term. There is no justification for this. You ever play halo with a friend and they look on your screen in order to kill you? Sadly, this also applies in rping. Its called metagaming (I'm a nerd, aren't I?) Meta gaming is, quite simply, knowing things you should not know. If your opponent is thinking about his next move, and you counter it based on his thoughts, that is meta gaming. As in your opponent may statement in third person that an invisible attack has been fired. You read this and act based on what you now know, not based on logic. Now to talk about powerplay....oh god how this is everywhere in this guild. >->
Power Play
Power play is when you take some ability, and stretch it beyond belief, making your power completely unbeatable. A good example of this is the common act of making an attack that cannot be dodged. This is power play. Power play can also be defined as an unbelievable power, something that is just too strong to be controlled. Now for auto action, I'm proud to say that I don't see much of this within the guild however, I will explain anyway. This would be the act of deciding your opponent's reaction for them. Such as stabbing them, and describing how they scream and grab the wound. Or simply claiming they did something they did not do, and acting as if they had. Power Boosting is basically when you pull moves from the blue sky. Not really a form of god mod, but it does overlap enough to earn a place here. Power boosting is as simple as it sounds. Changing your power level mid fight. I have seen plenty of justified examples of this, and I did not find a single one worthy of it. This is sometimes referred to, jokingly, as "Bankai" simply because it is a sudden power boost, usually gained in a bizarre way. No, I'm not saying bankai is powerboosting, its just an example of I'm throwing out. If you want a better example then if you watch naruto, then the nine tail fox could be considered one. Another thing I don't see often is when people feel they are gmodding by dodging constantly, so they decide to take a false fall. We've all seen this one I'm sure. This is when the person decides that they have dodged long enough, and have to take a hit to keep the modding levels down. However, even though they put down that they took the hit, they don't describe any reaction to it. Instead it is usually followed by an attack of their own. I have actually seen this done with fatal attacks, the person just throws in -Takes the hit- and counters instantly, despite the fact that they should be dead, or in pain at the very least. Invincibility is the defensive form of power play, this is a character that seems to feel no pain. They can take all the hits they want, fatal or not, and just keep fighting. No matter how strong your character is my friends, having your arm ripped off is very, very, painful. Even a masochist would not want to feel that kind of pain. This is the stuff that the new comers and the guild need to know- or made sure they already know- so that we won't keep loosing members over the slightest dispute. I don't want fifty people leaving because we couldn't figure out who stole Dakota's ******** cookie. There needs to be at least some sign that we as captains are stepping forward and taking the responsibilities to fix whatever flaws there may be. As I said before, the cause of these mishaps are no ones fault. If people leave then its because they want to. We didn't force them (Unless banned |3)
