Umbra twitched.
The park was empty, and Mira had just thrown her into a bench and handcuffed her hands behind her and jumped into a portal.
"God, Mira, you are so dead when you get back," the catgirl ground out through clenched teeth, attempting to wiggle off the bench. It didn't work, as her feet were tied to the bench.
Umbra hated Mondays. For a reason. With a passion.

Laika, on the other hand, liked just about everything. Including ice-pops. She'd found a truck that sold them, and had given the truck-man the flat silver things she'd found in a fountain in the park, and he'd given her ICE-POPS. It was a remarkable bit of trade. She walked past Umbra's bench, gnawing on her pop.
Then she backtracked.
"Are you a prisoner?" she asked, studying Umbra intensely. "You are tied-bound. Are you in trouble-danger?"

Umbra stared at Laika for a moment, speechless, before extending her wrist claws and slicing through the metal. "No. My...sister...likes going places and leaving me behind."
At this, she threw her hands behind her head, attempting to ponytail the large amount of loose hair. It only partially worked-normally she'd just shear off the hair, it grew back every day; but this was a park and there was no lake in sight. This was why she had thrown a total fit when her bracelet teleporter got broken by Neon Rave. "It's for the greater good," AvalonGirl had mocked...

"Your sister sounds mean-malevolent," Laika said decisively, plunking down on the bench beside Umbra. "I would share-give some of my ice-pop, but I do not think that would help-aid. I can give you a ribbon, though."
And that's just what she did, unwrapping one of the satin ribbons she wore around her wrists and giving it to Umbra.
"You have pretty-lovely hair. That will help keep it out of your face-visage."

"Thank you," Umbra smiled, tying the ribbon around her hair. It wasn't dragging along the ground now, so that was an improvement? "What's your name? I'm Umbra."

"You are welcome," Laika said, eyes crinkling as she presumably smiled - aside from her eyes and her little beak, she had no facial features at all. She seemed extremely happy to introduce herself, jumping off the bench and hoisting her ice-pop high in the air like it was a torch.
"I am Laika Montgomery, and it is an honor-pleasure to meet you."

"Hi, Laika," Umbra replied with a neutral expression. "It's a pleasure to meet you?"
Note to self: work on those conversation skills with females.

Laika preened, hugging herself and eyes narrowing to happy slits.
"You are kind-nice to say so! But you forgot to tell-disclose your name. Do you not have one? I could give-provide if you don't. I am good at naming things."

"...I'm Umbra Rosaus," the catgirl sighed, "but I rarely ever use my last name. Not my thing." Her tail waved back and forth lazily, tri-colored eyes remaining suspiciously neutral.
