It was not quite yet day, but still, the air on the beach of Kyushu was thin enough to promise that day would break soon. While most souls would either be sleeping or gazing restlessly across the vast ocean at this point in time, there was one Kuniku who stayed far back from the eternally hungry waves, just at the line of the trees. It had been only been a few weeks since the tall, dark male had essentially abandoned his family--He would spare the details of the harsh disowning by his brother--and left to start a new pack. Shinjitsumi.
The Truth.
It was what he had set out to find... Since the gods were so selfishly hiding their knowledge from him. Ah, yes... Sazanami's youngest son had gone rogue, but the currently camouflaged male had cut all ties with his family in search for what he needed. He wouldn't know it... But soon, his name would go down into history... In not such a wonderful way. Humans, Demons, and Kuniku alike would fear his name.
Vidar: The forest warrior.
The roar of the ocean did everything to drown out the vengeful male's constantly-flowing thoughts, but that was what V wanted out of sitting here. He needed a break from constantly formulating plans to attract more Kuniku to his small pack of two... Though, because of that second Kuniku, he had the brawn to recruit more members, should they prove to be... Flighty. His weapon of choice? His current partner in crime: Siddy. A mentally disturbed toxic-coloured Kuniku, in search of the... "Giant rat Jared" ... That killed his whole family.
Did Vidar believe a lick of that bullshit? Haha, absolutely not. But as the manipulative mind he was, he coerced Siddy into becoming his--for lack of a better term--lackey by promising that he could help the deranged male find and kill Jared.
But why was Vidar interested in Siddy in the first place?
Because the other Kuniku had the drive to kill, and that was supposedly nonexistant within the minds of all the Gods' advocates. What did the Gods think of Siddy, then? Was he a mistake? Oh, all of this was part of his research, believe-you-me, but, in a small part of Vidar's brain, he found himself... Drawn to the other male. It was a pleasant companionship, having someone else do everything you ever wanted. ... It made him miss the one he had left back home in Honshu. The small blue petite female he had shared his heart with. He missed Chishiki. But he would go back to find her soon. He would have her join his pack. They would be beautiful together...
Shaking his head, V growled audibly, angry at the ocean for what would be the fifth time in his life.
"You're supposed to make me stop thinking, you imbecile."
So he refocused his thoughts-- Or rather, pushed them all out, and shut his eyes, trying to meditate on the thought of nothing. Nothing at all. Soon Siddy would be up, and they would begin their hunt for new recruits yet again. Their daily process would start all over until Vidar was satisfied.

The maned male known as Siddy could only cackle as Vidar indirectly called for him to join his side. "I'm comin', Boss!" Imbecile? What did that even mean? He was completley unaffected by the insult, instead seeing it as some sort of honorary title. As Siddy stepped forward to stand close to the darker colored male, his tail wagged vigorously behind him. "I'm ready to head out whenever you say. I didn't forget anything this time!" Desperately obedient, Siddy awaited whatever Vidar's next command would be.
The path Vidar was carving for the future had been a difficult routine for Siddy to follow at first. He was used to being alone and doing whatever he liked whenever he felt like it, but that wasn't how it rolled with Vidar. They'd had arguments (some getting dangerously close to a physical fight) but with time and Vidar's persistence, Siddy had eventually decided to submit to his will. If Vidar said Jump, Siddy would ask How many bounces? To Run, he would question At what point should he stop? He didn't ask why anymore; he didn't need to know the answer. All that mattered was that Vidar said something and the only option was to do it.
If he had known any better, perhaps he might have realized that he was being used as a tool... but to Siddy, it didn't matter. From the moment he'd met Vidar, he had felt something in the male that had demanded that he stay close; he'd later discovered that the label was Intelligence. Vidar was smart and could understand all the things that Siddy couldn't. He had the answers to questions that he never had taken the time to even think up. It was only natural that he had been seduced by that dark mind, and the promise to help him achieve the only goal he'd ever had served to seal the deal.
Now it was just a game. His personal objective was to find the fastest route to pleasing Vidar. Siddy constantly sought the other's attention even though he knew already that his mind as often on another. This Chishiki girl. He growled slightly; just thinking of her name put a bad taste in his mouth. It was obvious to him that he would never have Vidar to himself, but he would be patient, waiting just behind Vidar so that when he did have the opportunity to prove his loyalty to the male, he could step forward and outdo this rival of his.

And here came the piece to set his pack rolling.
"Siddy..." Rather than respond to the utterance of loyalty that the neon Kuniku announced this morning, and every morning in the form of calling the taller Kuniku "Boss", Vidar pressed his shoulder hard against the other's, eyes narrowing at the ocean before he shut them completely, nipping at the strange creature's ear. "We have to head out early this morning... No time for breakfast. We'll find it on the way to the city today. I'm sure I can get us some noodles or whatever... But then it's time for work." And though he spoke about recruiting members for the pack which required him to be at the peak of his mental ability at every moment, the foresty Kuniku was actually a little drowsy today. He might just have Siddy find and speak to the others just as a... 'training exercise' of some sort.
Was V getting lazy? No. Not at all. He had just decided that it was time Siddy got some time to... Straighten up for the pack. Really, if he was going to be second in command around these parts, he had better start acting like it. After realizing how long he had been resting on the toxic coloured Kuniku, Vidar immediately pushed the other away, standing from the beach as he stalked in the direction of the nearest city. It was time to get working, and he had no time to play around today... Even though he certainly did a few mornings ago. But that was not to be mentioned again. Ever.

Breakfast... That was when you eat after you get up, right? Siddy tonge lolled out of his mouth a bit at the thought of food, and especially those slurpy things called noodles. "But, Boss..! I'm hungry right now!" Siddy whined, pressing his head to Vidar's chest. Sure he wanted to help the dark male get to work on creating his pack, but his stomach was on the verge of growling loudly and the feeling was upsetting. "I guess I'll just hafta hold it..." He said, his tail thumping the ground as he tried to encourage himself not to complain.
Siddy had learned the hard way that if he got on Vidar's nerves enough he would be ignored, and the forced silence between them was so painful that it felt like his heart was being squished in his chest. He hated that more than anything, not having Vidar's acknowledgment. "Am I gonna chase people down and bring them back to you, or do we get to go together?" He had no idea what Vidar had planned. Some times he told Siddy to go find other kuniku on his own, and on other ocassions he was there with Vidar as an intimidation factor.

"Shut up!" Vidar hissed at Siddy's complaint, but did nothing else to chastise the male about his hunger. There were more important things on his mind... If Vidar wanted a pack, then he had to get recruits. He had to find those who were interested, trap them without them knowing, then put them to work. And he needed to do it soon, else he would begin going crazy. Who had ever heard of a pack with just two members? And more importantly...
Who had ever feared one?
Moving quickly through the trees lining the beach, Vidar did not stop to see if Siddy were following, but when the mental Kuniku asked about the plans for today, the lanky alpha slowed down for a moment to discuss it with him. "To be honest..." he began, his voice low and quite irritated. "We need to get as many recruits as we can in the shortest time period. We can split up once we get to the city..." Suddenly, V stopped in his tracks and snarled at Siddy, shoving him down to the dirt below them violently, moving his barred teeth close to the other.
"And don't you screw this up. You see how I act when I talk to others. Imitate me. Don't. Mess. Up." Stepping off of the toxic fur, Vidar continued his quick pace to the city, barking a short order of 'come' to his right hand man, pretty sure that he had done a good job of instilling fear of failure into the other's brain. Today would be a very important day... And Vidar could feel it. He wouldn't have Siddy making everything a mess. Couldn't afford it...
---
The sun had quite peaked over the horizon by the time the two of them had reached the city, and people were already bustling around to get their work done. Vidar sat with Siddy just outside a noodle shop watching everyone go by, knowing that if the bulky guard sat around on his a** long enough, he could score some food. V, on the other hand... He wouldn't take anything from anyone anymore. He didn't need it. He could make it on his own.
"Alright. Listen up. We meet right back here when the sun starts to set on the mountains. You understand? Bring all who you've met here, and we'll take them back to the beach to talk to them. In private." And just before the towering male walked away, he paused one more time to glare right into the other's blank eyes, growling softly.
"Don't mess this up."
