so here it goes... sweatdrop i was dating a mtf transexual from december to february. she was told that after starting her medication to start her change she wouldn't be able to have children. i had just had a miscarriage and hadn't gotten back on birth control...and never did get back on it. and well i had sex with her unprotected. i wasn't really worried about getting pregnant again after the miscarrige and her being told she would never have children so that went on for almost the entire time we dated. after the break up alot of things happened. i went into a depression for a bit and soon after the break up my grandma also passed away so i thought the change in my period was due to the stress and it going back to normal after the miscarriage. but i noticed that it was over two weeks late, so i decided to take a pregnancy test which was positive. but a few days after i took the test i got what i figured to be my period (it was more like spotting). so i am not sure what the possibilies are that i am indeed pregnant or if the test was just wrong. i am going to go see an doctor in a few weeks (it was the soonest appointment avaible) so i know for sure...but i would really like to hear other peoples opinions on this matter

I can't really say since this is definitely not a situation that I'm familiar with. Perhaps it's sorta like BC pills, she had to be taking the drugs for a certain amount of time before she wasn't able to have kids. But I dunno. :S
I don't even know who to ask about this in the guild. Maybe Lorien?

Buy another couple of tests? False positives (and negatives) do happen, so the more tests you take the more likely the result is right. You're doing the right thing going to the doctor, the next thing is deciding what YOU want to do, and then maybe talking it over with your ex, especially if you want to keep it.

Like Ash mentioned, I wouldn't be surprised if the drugs took a little time before making a person completely infertile. So I would think pregnancy would be a possibility. You could try calling her doctor and asking how long the drugs take to do that to her body though.
Other than that, it's tough for us to say for sure what's going on. It sounds like you could be pregnant and fine (some women bleed in early pregnancy but the baby is fine), pregnant and miscarrying (while bleeding isn't always a sign of problems, it certainly can be a sign that the baby isn't ok), or not pregnant at all (like Fran said, false positives can happen, especially if you didn't do the test exactly as instructed).
So you can try taking another test, just waiting for the doctor, or seeing if you can get into a clinic like Planned Parenthood sooner than that. Start thinking about what you would do if you were pregnant, just in case. If you would have the baby, act like you're pregnant. In other words take vitamins, eat right, don't smoke, etc. just in case. You also might want to get STD tests if your partner had been with anyone else. And if you two ever end up getting back together or hooking up, use protection if you don't want babies, at least until the doctor confirms that she is 100% sterile. Good luck!
