duskwing took his apprentice, dawnpaw, out for her training, she was a swift,small but strong white she-cat with ginger sploches on her body and two over her eyes that looked like a pair of speks.She raced along in front of him brimming with exitement. "What will I teach you today?" Duskwing called to her ,she turned her head and called back "maybe how to catch a hawk!" Duskwing shivered, He knew she was joking but that was the bird that had attacked and killed her mother (fortunatley she never found out).Dawnpaw slowed down into the hunter's crouch and crept up on an unsuspecting rabbit, she leapt upon it and quickly killed it "Very good" her mentor praised her.

Icehead was strolling through the camp. He went to the fresh-kill pile and sniffed at a rabbit, but didn't eat anything. The other cats looked concerned. Why isn't he eating? He's so thin It seemed like he was in a mood, but the truth is that he was told by StarClan himself not to eat until the next gathering at the full moon. Icehead was being tried for his faith and he knew it, because he had blasphemed StarClan at least one hundred times before he was a month old. His faith had slowly grown until today, but last nights dream was when he learned that he must truly prove himself to them.

Dawnpaw came back dragging her rabbit behind her,She saw Icehead "whats up Icehead? are ya sick?" she put her rabbit on the pile and limped off.Duskwing wathched this with concern, he walked up to Icehead "Do you think she's okay, i'ved never noticed it before..."

Mistygaze emerged from the medicine cat den, her eyes bright. "Good morning, Dawnpaw, Duskwing, Icehead," she mewed. She heard the word "sick" and immediately asked, "Who's sick?"

Duskwing looked at mistygaze "Icehead wont eat so dawnpaw assumed he's sick, knowing her she's gone to find some herb or another" he sat a while in thought "I'm not sure which path she wishes to take, to become a warrior or to be a medicine cat, one time I fell down a tree and she gave me poppy seeds" Duskwing mewed

Redpaw padded drowsily out of the apprentice den, his head swaying as the barely awake tom sauntered over toward the fresh kill pile. Orange tabby ears flicked up at the voices of his clan mates, and almost as though in surprise, he lifted his head, throwing a golden eyed glance at the felines.
Waving his tail in a brisk hello, Redpaw pressed forward, snagging a scrawny rabbit from the pile before settling onto his stomach to dig in. Redpaw was a social cat, yes, but he still had to wake up from a nights slumber, and at this point, Redpaw could have been oblivious to a badger.

Icehead yowled as if he were Clan leader in an attempt to start a gathering. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather 'round for the news to be heard!"

Icehead sighed heavily and announced: "StarClan has given me a vision. I know it's unusual for a warrior to have a vision, but before you all state that warriors can't have visions let me remind you about Crowfeather and the sun-drown place. Anyway. I've been very unfaithful and even blasphemous toward StarClan and to prove myself to them, I must go until the next full moon without food. I am announcing this because it's difficult to ignore the hunger in my belly. So I ask you as my Clanmates to keep me from eating. No matter how tired, skinny or moody I may get." Once Icehead had gotten all of that off his chest he headed back to the warriors' den to sleep.

Dawnpaw glanced after Icehead, her eyes glistening with admiration "wow!" she mewed "He takes starclan's punishment so well, I'd claw a cat's eyes out if I couldn't eat for a moon!" she giggled, duskwing laughed too but felt secretly worried Why am I so paranoid about my daughter's wellfare? he asked himself, he padded off deciding to ask one of the queens why he felt this way.

Mistygaze nodded to Icehead approvingly. There was a loyal, honest cat. She meowed to Duskwing, "Hm...that's interesting. I'm sure StarClan will speak to her soon--that is, if she chooses to become a medicine cat."

Icehead awakened to the sun beating into his eyes. "It must be sunhigh." he steadied himself and padded out of the warriors' den. "Dawnpaw?" he padded over to Dawnpaw and asked "Are you doing anything today? A patrol? Training? Because if not...I was thinking about heading to the lakeshore and...I'd like you to...come with me...? Butifyoudon'twantto...I understand. It's cool." He padded away fastly. That blew! he thought to himself. How can I tell Dawnpaw how I feel anyway? I'm such an old warrior and she's such a young apprentice. By the time she's ready for kits, I'd probably have wasted my prime.

dawnpaw spun around "I was on the morning patrol, my father has nothing planned for me ,I'd love to come, just let me get the elders some kill and I'll be ready to go" she limped off,her plump rabbit in her jaws.Duskwing watched Icehead rush off sensing how he felt about dawnpaw.

Icehead noticed an aura about Duskwing. "Morning, Duskwing. Dwanpaw and I are going for a stroll by the lake. Hope you don't mind." Icehead couldn't think of anything to say beyond that, though Duskwing still had the aura glowing from him. Dawnpaw emerged from the elder's den and she and Icehead ran off on to the camp's entrance. When they arrived at the lakeshore Icehead couldn't help staring back and forth between the lake and Dawnpaw noticing how similar they were in beauty.
