BBC announces game of Doctor Who It talks about it 1:04-1:15 of the video
PostPosted: Wed Apr 21, 2010 10:50 pm

ehehe I loved the, "You sort of look like me" "It's the Sideburns" part, and I agree David should get his own action adventure game. I totally will play it even though I am not too much into 11 yet. but that game looks awsome.

In the BBC forum's some people have been trusted a beta of the game and even though I am not one of them they have been PMing videos to people. It looks good to be really honest and I hate the idea of free games. The snow covered Cybermen seemed to shout out error but that will be fixed if not by the designer then by the fan. Daleks try to kill you but apparently it has to be a friendly game so they are gonna take out the death animation by the time we get to play it.

Only the 11th and Amy are ever going to be in it but five small hours after the beta a whole add-on pack was hacked up and so far it lets you patch the game to do.

1- Play the game as the 10th or the 2nd doctor.
2- Have Rose or Ace as a companion
3- Re-enable death scenes.
4- Enable mutli screwdrivers such as 8th, 9th 10th and 11th's.
5- Patches the tardis to look like 9th's or 6th's.
6- Enables old Cybermen style.
7- Add's more memory into the game alowing more data to be added.
8- Nude patch.

Even if the game ends up being a little slow and crap, with the inclusion of hack-able frame I guess you could do anything with it.

I guess people have too much time on their hands and are a little lonely. The idea of playing as naked Rose or Amy is an idea that you will find all over the place in 5 years from now so it seems understandable that it is included. The problem comes with the fact that this nude patch doesn't just patch the females of the game, it also makes the doctor nude and gives the Cybermen and Dalek huge wangs made out of steel or something. If for some reason anyone would like a nude 11th then I would have to point out that the 2nd is also nude patched and why you would wan't to see that is really beyond me.

Edit* Seems like there is a new patch out.
Restoration pack.
1- "Interactive Tardis touch screen adding a new Tardis menu system that will let you change the Tardis desktop theme"
2- "9th-10th style Tardis aka Corral theme. Thanks go to berminjacku and Lanto-in-your-pants44 but please take warning more work needs to be done and not all mesh is complete"
3- "WIP Early show of in game Jack we hope you like it but he won't be nude in this beta"

":Info: Restoration Pack 1.1

We aim to restore the game world of DW to the times of the past but we can't do it alone and anyone with some skill in such things should contact me or bertie_bots_tits.

Coming soon
All Tardis from 1st to 10th
Other Tardis rooms like Zero room and wardrobe room to name a few.
The Torchwood team and maybe we can make a game out of that.
Play as all Doctors 1-11. We are thinking of adding this in as a option you can choose in the Tardis as part of the menu alowing in game change of your doctor.
Have all companions. Thinking of adding this one into the Tardis display menu too.
Including all old foe's even ICE WARRIORS!!!!
Working on face of boe as we speak and he is almost complete.
Will one day add new worlds such as Gallifrey and Mars many more will come.
Adding an item pick up mini game. Think Tomb Raider with the trophy room. Not sure what trophys to use but expect it to be things such as walking across a room and seeing something on the floor, you move closer and find it is the Doctor's diary and then you can view it later in the Tardis trophy room.

I am still unsure how I want the game to play and while all these will come as a seprate patch I will be making a game but I am not sure if it will be the same game as the BBC or I will stay awake many hours re-making all adventures from 1 through to 11 complete with re-gens. It will take a long time by myself so I urge people to help.

A special thanks to PETeSworld, Jackisinmypantstouchingmypeepee, Simons, Tennets_Whore, Link_Shagging_The_Dr, H-Rimmer, Captian_Crack and Phill.
Thanks to these people who all created and made in great detail before any sign of a WHO game the Tardis Mesh and Doctor Mesh's, Companions and Foes, Tardis interior and Gallifrey and many many more. This all makes me work a bit more easy.

Big thank you to Gallifag for calling me every two seconds and asking how I am.
Big HATE to John_Smiths_Gonna_Troll_You for giving Gallifag my home telephone number."

It's free for PC when you download from the BBC website (Jun-05-2010) but I have just got a beta invite and I can assure you the game is very short but it does come in 4 parts. Game can be completed in 2hours but with the hack packs I am sure many more hours can come from it.

*Edit*
Sytem requirements are so far sketchy at best but the lowest it has been installed on is a
1.6ghz processor / 2gb ram / basic graphics card capable of displaying direct X 9.
That's all the info that is given about the guys computer but at least it gives small insight. Anything like that or above should be fine and it seem to take just over 1gb space.

2G ram? Ouch.

That is just what that guys computer is and probly has nothing to do with exactly what the game can run on. The BBC has said that anyone (no matter what or hold the computer is) could take part and sign up for the Beta, last month. I think this beta is to work out some bugs and find out just what the game can run on and even though it sounds a little odd that they wouldn't know it still makes a good point because no details come with it.

Box art is nice though but the menu system is a little erk at the moment and there is no wide screen mode. Game is good for 2010 and it should be on an xbox 360 with those graphics and game length of all 4 games if they all lead together. Some of the game is a little crappy but I am excited at the thought of how far this game will go. It has opened a whole new door up for Who games.

So it will come out for Xbox 360?
PostPosted: Thu Apr 29, 2010 11:17 am

@GR8 NRG
You should use xpadder and set it up with whatever game pad your using. By the time it comes out it may have a game pad option but if not, just use xpadder and connect up your pad of choice. As for playing on a small screen, if your TV is big then use a VGA to scart, s-video to scart and if your TV is thin then either use the last 2 or a HDMI cable or pure VGA cable.

@jessiefrance
Like I said up there, nopes. But it is free and does have good graphics worthy to be on a 360. If you wan't to play the game like a 360 game and have a wired 360 controller, just downlaod the 360 controller drivers and use your 360 game pad to play the game, hook it up to the TV if need be.
