A thread to discuss and speculate the upcoming zOMG areas. Here is was JK (one of zOMGs artists) had to say: [ JK ] Hey all, with the forthcoming expansion areas in zOMG!, we're excited to announce that we'll also be adding new recipes and loot items in the game. Most of these items will be rare items which will require lots of time, luck and effort to craft. There will be varying degree of rarity when it comes to these items. The most rare items being labeled "Epics." With these rare items, we'll also be introducing a new crafting system. This system will require charge orbs as one of the key component. So hang onto those extra orbs, you'll need them. Some rare items will even require a whole zOMG! items like the fluff plushies as part of the ingredient. On top of that, we'll also be adding "fail rates" to the most rarest of items (we'll explain more later). So you see where we're going with this, it's not going to be easy crafting these items. However, the reward for a successful craft is going to be well worth it, since some of these items will be so rare that it'll rival the "halo" in terms of rarity. To give you a small taste of things to come, the following concepts are from the rare pirate themed set which will be released in the future along with new areas.

The Boardwalk is under construction and will soon become an amusement park . Here is the discussion with Butterfingers Bart by the 'under construction' sign.
Bikipip: What's going on with the boardwalk?
Butterfingers Bart: Well...the Cap'n, she's been readin' a lot and it's given her some mighty strange idears.
Bikipip: What sort of 'idears'?
Butterfingers Bart: She's larned the idear of cleanin' our money so we can give it away easier.
Bikipip: 'Cleaning' money? Do you mean 'laundering'?
Butterfingers Bart: Yar! That's wot the Cap'n calls it too. We launder the booty by sinkin' it into a big park and openin' it t'all you landlubbers out there, makin' e'en more gold from ye when y'spend it foolishly here.
Bikipip: Park? What sort of park?
Butterfingers Bart: A 'musement park.
Bikipip: An amusement park? You mean with ferris wheels and boardwalk games? That sort of amusement park?
Butterfingers Bart: YAR! She's a beauty too. The swabbies we've got buildin' things are still workin', so the park is closed for now...but we'll open it soon enuff and then we'll start fleecin' the customers.

Bikipip: So...G-Corp is backing your band of pirates to set up an amusement park? What kind of sense does that make?
Butterfingers Bart: Th' gold kind, ya lubber! We pirates git the money cleanin' place we wont, and the Gambinos get a share of the gold we garner in trade for helpin' us build th' place.

SomniMani There's been videos posted of Chapter 2 being 3D. meh, not a huge fan of 3d, I saw some videos posted in the GE thread last week and I actually prefer the way gaia is now. I am sure the expansion areas on chapter 1 will come waaaay before chapter 2 though ...

Exciting! It really seems as if the two are connected but I won't get my hopes up... meh, too late.
The 3-D thing would be disappointing and too complicated for the devs. I highly doubt it'll be part of any expansion they make any time soon.

SomniMani There's been videos posted of Chapter 2 being 3D. That was a concept rendering. At the moment there are no plans to put it into production as a functioning format for zOMG!. There's no way the current servers could keep up with the 3D graphics, much less animated 3D. Consider the amount of lag that already exists, then imagine how bad it would be if everything was in 3D.

Amusement parks as the new area. eh? Man, does that mean that the animated will be... bumper cars? neutral

SomniMani There's been videos posted of Chapter 2 being 3D. yeah but they said non of the game will be in 3d because it would take a lot of time money and manpower or something to make it 3d. he said it was kind of a thing to show how it would be if they decided to make it 3d.
