The day had started going by at an ever slowing pace, with nothing to do Angra had become bored. He had shredded the bark of a tree, killed several species of rodents and eaten a good share of food. he'd played all his games, scared a few neighboring folks if he hadn't killed them and was nearly content. All he hadn't done was visited his brother, Spenta, and ruined his brothers day.
"Hm, I wondered what he'll be up too." He pondered out loud, petty curiosities fueling his walking to where his brother generally lay. He had often wondered why the pair had stayed together with the bitter hatred that was shared, though it always came down to Angra's idea that Spenta thought it'd be best that since they no longer had parents and were the only siblings left, that they should stick together. "A weird brother I have."
His reoccurring thoughts stopped as he spotted the all white, blue and gold feline. "Hey Spenta!" He piped up, a large twisted grin tweaked his whiskers as he ran to his brother.

Spenta almost disliked the midday heat. Ahh, dislike was a strong word for Spen. He preferred the early morning or late evening hours and the cooler temperatures they brought along. Spen was thankful for his light colored coat; no doubt if he was dark like his brother, he'd be overheating, but his white fur helped mitigate some of the scorching heat.
Despite the noontime heat, Spenny was at peace. He sat, alone, under his favorite bush. There was a pitiful water hole nearby to quench his thirst on. It was a convenient spot which was the reason he stayed.
Unfortunately, this also meant that his brother always knew where to find him. Spen knew the peace he cherished wouldn't last long. It never really did. Angra was the one being on the planet that Spenta despised.
Spen scented his brother before he spotted him. Angra had a particular smell about him that was wholly unpleasant. His body lurched with a heavy sigh. Goodbye, quiet. "Hello, Angra."

"What on this planet are you doing?" He asked casually, his grin defeating the casualness and he brought himself to relax on his haunches, tail twisting mischievously and eye's staring hard on the white form.
He didn't have ideas of what to do yet, but perhaps his brother pelt could use a good bit of dirt, a mud fight maybe? Involuntarily of course, he wouldn't wait for his brother to say yes or no, that was up to Angra in Angra's mind. The world doesn't wait on anyone, why should he.

Spenta forced a heartfelt sigh out past his tongue. Angra was up to no good and Spen knew it. He rose to his haunches, tail curled perfectly about his paws. The fluffy tailtip masked the tightening of Spen's toes, the irritated sheathing and unsheathing of his claws. Angra was a pest, and a mean one at that.
"I was merely enjoying a bit of shade, brother. Relaxation does wonders for the soul, perhaps you should try it someday?" He kept his tone level and unoffensive, really not wanting to provoke Angra. He never really wanted to provoke his brother. Angra thrived off of Spenta's dismay, and Spen didn't want to provide him with the pleasure.
"Where do you wander this afternoon," he asked Angra, whiskers twitching nonchalantly. He felt his heckles rise and willed them down, inhaling deep breaths. It was so hard to remain calm around his twin. Spenta hated feeling this way.

Angra felt his fur rise pleasantly, mood inducing his hackles to flip up involuntarily, he was always angry or excited about something. "Well isn't the shade something else! Thought you'd be out burning to death." He said sarcastically, his tone was smug and happy. He enjoyed the fact a that he knew his brother well enough to know that he'd be fighting off something deeply inside. He knew his brothers tones and this one was a sham.
"Well you know I'd never wander far from you brother. I love you remember?" He laughed, his eye's glued to Spen, he awaited a reaction, even the twitch of his whiskers caught Angar's eye's and he knew that tail tightening all to well. It didn't take much now adays to get under Spens pelt, Angra was almost finding it boring, but it was something to do.
"What about you, brotehr, where do you plan to wander? Plan on going far? better watch your pelt doesn't get skinned by the meanies our that Spenny-Penny." Angra remarked, mouth positioned in a sneer. He enjoyed taunting Spen's girlishness. Even if that girlishness was Spen being polite.

Spen found himself biting back a growl. He would not give his brother the pleasure of distressing him. And though he bit back a growl, he couldn't keep down the condescending snort that burst from his nose. "Love, brother? Hearing that word from your lips gives my heart cause for joy." Part of what Spen said was true. Spenta always thought of Angra as an ugly, twisted caterpillar stuck in its cocoon. He always held hope in his heart that someday Angra would break free.
It hadn't happened yet, and Spenta was losing hope that it would. It killed Spenta to admit that, but he would never give up on his brother no matter what. "I have no plans to go far, brother, you know that. Not for now, at least." He'd never told his brother that he did have plans to leave in the future. It would be his great escape.
"Killed any cubs recently?" Spenta drawled, his tone sharp with forced humor. It wouldn't be past Angra to do such a thing. "Stolen any mates, destroyed any families?" The words seemed like simple chit-chat - they were anything but.

The snort made Angra laugh, he knew full well that Spen would never believe him if he did say 'I love you' and Angra would never say it with meaning. "not going far? Well that's a drag, I thought you'd eventually get bored here." He smiled with a tainted sweetness. his plans were skewed with leaving or not, nothing was stopping him he just had no where to go of interest.
"Not as of recently." He stated, though his eye's became sparkley with hunger for a kill. "Though there was this small innocent cub, light blue, a genuine smile.." He smiled, eye's narrowing and jaw tightening in pleasure. "She cried out as I dug my claws deeply into her lower back, the blood oozed nicely, thick from her flesh." His eye's sparkled further, his tongue slid out to lick away excess saliva and he watched his brother slowly.
"I got to watch as life slid from her body, pelt twitching with attempts to free her, but all attempts weer a fail as the pool became thicker and more spread, her blood was like a beautiful ocean and so pure.." He smirked, ears sprung forward, listening carefully to his brother.
"Other than that, no mayhem."

Spen rose to his feet, his movements taut and almost awkward in obvious anger. He didn't have the deadly grace of his brother. The words Spen wanted to say were caught in his throat, lodged there by an inexplicable ball of rage. How could Angra do this to him so easily?! Spenta was trying to keep his cool - and failing miserably.
"And where, pray tell, did you find such a cub my dearest brother?" Spen's tone dripped acid against his will; if only he had better control of his emotions it wouldn't be so obvious that his brother was destroying Spen. The thought of that poor cubs family wondering and worrying about their daughter... somene had to tell them, and as usual, it would be Spenta. If he didn't clean up after his brother, nobody would. Of course, he'd have to come up with a story; though his brother was a terrible lion, Spenta didn't have it in him to accuse his brother of murder even if it was true.
"And what did you do with her body? I do hope you tucked it away so that it wouldn't be found." His words were clipped as he struggled for control over his tone.

Oh the horror, oh the horror!
Angra thought it in his head, he wanted to laugh out loud, but held himself with expertise control of his emotion. Being angry all the time gave him a strength with that. he watched his brothers body contort to standing position, Angra followed. He figured if Spenta attacked he'd be better prepared standing.
"I found her wandering, alone, miserable even." He smiled, misery being a great tease to him. "She was beautiful, even my twisted mind could see that, but an innocent, like you brother. If it hadn't been for her damned pelt I would have kept her. She was very vocal." He sneered again, eye's watching Spen closely, enjoying every second of the torture.
"Don't you want to hear the rest of the story?" He asked, giving a soft laugh and without waiting on a yes or no he went on. "Her pelt was soft as a fresh snow, brother. Eye's as golden as the sun and her heart was pure. It showed in the way she acted to me, just like you actually." He stopped swallowed back saliva and continued.
"Her body was filled with grace, as she tried to run I nearly let her go purely on that, but the fear in her eye's when she gazed back to watch me run to her fueled me, my adrenaline was pumping, she had no chance." He laughed. "I took her down with a leap claws capturing her heaving sides."
"The blood was delectable, a treat. After tearing into her back I began on her front, my jaws alone tore out her stomach. I felt each inch of her flesh being torn by my jaws, such sweet meat..." He dazed a moment, twisted grin in place, eye's sparkling and a slight scent of drool hit the air.
"Oh, is this bothering you Spen?" He smirked, daze over and story only half finished, Angra ignored his brothers question of the body. He was in fact getting there.

"ENOUGH!" Spenta roared, crimson eyes wide in horror. "Enough, Angra." His words were softer, his tone pleading. "Tell me where her body lies, please." It was impossible, this task the Gods had laid before him. Looking after his brother was enough to break even the holiest of lions, the purest of souls. It was madness, pure madness, the gleam in Angra's eyes as he spoke of the terrors he'd inflicted on the cub. Madness and pleasure, if there could even be such a combination, lurked in Angra's deceivingly blue eyes.
Spenta fell silent for a moment, forcing himself to breathe as evenly as he could. Though the cubs last moments had been those of terror, Spenta knew she was free from the pain and likely torture that Angra had put her through. Spen closed his eyes, turning his back on his brother, and regained his composure. It wasn't easy; Spen was convinced a lion weaker of constitution would not have been able to do so. After dealing with his brother for the entirety of his life, Spenta was getting better at composing himself, though he never ceased to be shocked by the depravity that Angra could, and would, sink to.

Tongue lolled free of Angra's once tensed jaws, he huffed lightly and laughed softly at his brothers outrage. "The body lays no where, she is in my stomach, the bones pulled apart by a wild dog pairing not long after." He nodded curtly. " I had gone back to get you a present, but it was all gone, they don't waste time those dogs." He smiled sweetly, a dangerous sweetness, but sweet nonetheless.
"Now calm down Spenta, no need to get so explosive!" He called out happily, his voice booming with joy. He had achieved his days goal. It didn't take much at all to get Spenta upset and he loved it so much, loved his control.

Spenta's nostrils flared as he forced himself to regain his cool. Today was not the day for a fight. He was weak from the heat, lethargic and drained. Now his duty was to rid himself of his brother at least for the moment. He would have to roam the rogue lands now in search of the cubs family.
It was then that Spenta realized what his brother had said. "You... you ate the cub?" His voice was soft, almost too soft. His heart seized for one beat, then two... Was there really any changing this beast that shared the same blood Spenta did? Was there any good shrouded in Angra's soul? It seemed impossible now, it truly did.
"You jest, Angra. Tell me you jest."

"I jest you not... brother."
He licked his lips as if to prove a point, eye's were dazzling with delight as if recalling what the meat tasted like as they spoke. "A fed lion is a content lion. Wouldn't you agree?" His smiled became wicked, the question of course was rhetorical and was asked for no more reason then to piss off Spenta.
"I mean, you'd do the same if you were in my position!" He pleaded in a fake innocent tone. his voice sickened him when he did this, but he enjoyed Spen's reactions, though their conversation was about done.
"I was only hungry, she fed me well. A nice plump, juicy, muscle bound female. She might have made you a good mate had she not made me a good meal." He teased before turning to lap at the measly water they had.

If only Spenta wasn't weaker than his brother. His spirit was stronger, of this Spen was convinced, but Spenta wasn't nearly as brawny as his brother. His heart sank as he realized that his brother spoke the truth on feasting on the flesh of a young lion, a defenseless cub. It wore at the already tenuous threads that kept Spenta's sanity together.
Though he knew Angra enjoyed toying with his emotions, Spenta couldn't help but feel somewhat sorry for his brother. Times could be rough for a lone lion, harder to hunt that way. Of course, Angra's constant solitary lifestyle could have been what drove him to madness, Spen supposed.
"You are a monster," Spenta said matter-of-factly. It wasn't meant to shock; he really was only stating the obvious. "Why do you seek me out day after day, Angra? There is no love lost between us."
The part that sickened Spen the most? He knew that he could not live at peace if something happened to his brother.

"Why brother, you only figure this now? We did grow up together." He said smoothly, eye's turning to stone, their past was a horror story to him, hated his Father and wished he could have met his Mother. Unfortunately it was his birth that caused the family to split, his birth which had killed their Mother, and somewhere in the back of his mind he got hit with an emotion that only showed in his eye's, the rest stayed his usual twisted calm.
"You are my brother, Spenta." That's all he coudl say before turning head and leaving Spenta to his miseries while Angra began getting hit with his own. he remembers seeing his Mothers body a little after being born, unfortunately when memory started to kick in. He closed his eye's, there was her face, still, the body had finished it's final muscle twitches and she'd already begun to get cold.
He slept with her corpse that night, he remembered it like it was yesterday. His head hung low and broke into a run, getting way from his brother which for a few seconds had known their Mother. Angra roared ferociously in anguish, but Spenta could only hear it, not see the outrage and pain in Angra's face and eye's.
