VERSUS Cam silently strode along the edge of the forest, feeling twilight ebb away into the past as the night came, drowing the shadows of the sunset with more shadows. The butterflies on his back were resting silently, settled in his fur with their wings gently swaying in the air with his stride. Each of his footfalls left behind a patch of greenery darker and more lush as he walked, slightly expanding the territory of the forest each night. As he walked by, grass, trees, and shrubs all swayed gently towards him as if reaching to follow, hoping for his touch. The edge was his home, where he did the most of his work. Every evening he took a similar walk in the evening. Every evening he walked along in hopes of slightly expanding the forests. He was the one who brought the first weeds into fields in the hopes of reclaiming the lost lands that were once all forests. He was the reclaimer of what was lost; land and spirits alike. The hearts of people once belonged to the forests a long time ago. All he did was help them to remember.
Walking along the edge of the woods, Cam heard something snap. He stopped where he was mid-stride, looking into the woods, wondering what it was that had caused the noise. The buterflies on his back fluttered lazily, not really eager to take off. They were tired after a long day of flitting around. Still, they reflected his curiosity in the source of the noise.

Sidra let off a faint glow as she levitated around the woods, ears limp. And then she stepped on a twig, and it was obvious someone else was there.
"Why, hello," the fox-like Twilif purred, a sharp fang gleaming in the moonlight. "Care to spar, butterfly-lore?"HP: 100/100 (Rolling for initiative.)

Cam looked the twilif up and down, examining the newcomer and taking in what could about her. She had a strong heart, but it was filled with challenge and he was, for the moment, the target of her game. Her heart was set on its way and Icarus couldn't seem to change it. Spreading his stance, he returned the challenge with a growl, honestly hoping it would back down and leave him to expand the forest. The butterflies, disturbed from their rest, took off his back and floated above, examining the newcomer for themselves.

Sidra grinned predatorily; flicking out her claws rather like a cat as she launched herself at the butterfly-esque susikoira.
With a quick slash, cuts opened on Cam's side.

Even though Cam had returned the challenge, he obviously hadn't been mentally prepared for the fight. He was surprised when the foxish twilif lauched herself towards him, claws bared to slash at him. Flinching more than anything else, Cam moved. Only slightly though. He felt the sting of claws tear at the flesh along his side, dragging along, parting skin and muscle alike along its straight journey. The pain woke his senses up, stimulating him and reminding him that this was what a fight felt like. It was painful, yet at the same time he shook from the adrenaline his body released into him.
With a moment of focus, the shrubs surrounding them began to grow at an accelerated rate. Nearby brambles recieved the brunt of this energy, growing at the most extreme rate and towards the hostile entity. Vine-like growths and creepers growing in an intertwining network spread along the grown, attempting to capture the feet of the twilif, thorns and thistles evident along their length.

Sidra squeaked in pain as the thorns pierced her feet: she was still delicate, her skin wasn't iron. So the Twilif threw a small ball of flame at her enemy: nothing big, it would just dissolve after a certain distance.

Cam was too close to really do a whole lot about the fireball that was hurling towards him. He twisted away from it, trying to dodge and almost got around it. The fireball skimmed his shouler, burning off fur and skin before disippating.
So she was a fire wielder... Cam had always harboured a dislike for flame. It devoured too readily, destroying everything it tasted. It was at ends with what he stood for. Wheras he sought to grow, fire sought to destroy.
It would be better if this spirit was out of the forest.
The butterflies on Cam's back began to flutter, straining against their tethers. Finally, one broke free and fluttered to the ground a couple feet away. The moment it made contact with the vegetation, the ground began to heave as roots surrounded it, growing until the mass began to take shape. Unfolding armlike wooden appendages, it seemed to be looking straight at the twilif.
Beneath the twilif's feet, the vines began to writhe, breaking free from the ground and beginning to thrash aimlessly in every direction.
