You should always go with the classics, so I say you should look for Only A Lad or Dead Man's Party. Welcome aborad the Boingo Wagon!

I'd have to agree - Dead Man's Party was my first, and it was like a drug. I was hooked after the very first track xd

Y'know something that's been bothering me? Why is the album "Danny Elfman: So-Lo" even CALLED a solo album? It still has all of Oingo Boingo in it, so what gives? They should've all gotten credit. Was it some kind of deal with MCA or something? That kinda makes me mad; I refuse to credit only Danny with that album (sorry Danny, but without the rest of them, you'd be nothing in Boingo!!) sweatdrop 3nodding

I totally agree! Everyone even acknowledges it as a Boingo album. I guess he wanted to get known on his own, then learned better ^^.

I was thought that was kind of weird too, I was mostly boggled why the video for "Gratitude" appeared on my Boingo music video VHS especially when I watched and, well, yeah, it's the band yet the song appears on SoLo...not that I'm complaining, I LOVE that video, just odd.

With that said I am crazy about the SoLo CD so pick that up if you haven't. It's hard to say really which you should get next but Dead Man's Party is sort of the quintessential piece. My first was Bo-ingo and I'm still quite proud to call it so. "Not My Slave" and "We Close Our Eyes" are must have songs.

My first album was Skeleton In The Closet. But that's because my older brother used to be the kind of guy who would by Best-Ofs and when he heard I loved Danny Elfman, he ran down to the basement to fetch it for me! The first actual album I got was not one I'd recomend starting with, Boingo. I'd start with, yeah, Only A Lad, or Dead Man's Party. Personally, I like Dead Man's party more, but that's just me.

If I could go back in time and change things, this'd be the order:
Dead Man's Party
Only A Lad
Boi-Ngo
Nothing To Fear
So-Lo
Dark At The End Of The Tunnel
Boingo

Then go out and Get Boingo Alive, and the Anthology.

I don't even have So-Lo or Dark at the End yet.
The first album I ever actually bought wasn't a real album, it was Anthology.

I left out good for the soul and Fairwell, I don't have either of those, but...

Yay, I love Nothing to fear, it was my second Boingo album!
My first was Only a Lad.

By the way, Prairie_Fire, I adore your Forbidden Zone signature.

I absolutely love Boingo Alive, and it was one of my firsts, too. It's got a lot of their classic songs, and just this strange 'good time' feel to it.

Seriously, though, they're all good. Just get whichever one is cheapest at the time, and continue getting albums until you've got 'em all. That works nicely. 3nodding

Boingo Alive does have "Violent Love" which is an EXCELLENT song!! And none of my other albums have that.

Dude, I love that song. The sad thing is, the Mystic Knights version was better, and it almost impossible to get a hold of. confused
