Kalila lived...a pretty quiet life. She wasn't really built for the warrior way, and she certainly didn't have the colours to really demand for what she wanted. Still, she was content with where she was, trying to be a support system for her clan. It always helped a clan to have numbers, even if Kalila's coat was anything but desired. The brightest thing about her was her eyes. Still, she couldn't be coined ugly; just not desirable. She had gotten over that a long time ago. Humming to herself, she swished her tail behind her as she walked around, getting the blood flowing before going out for a hunt. She wasn't hungry, but she could sense that she would be before too long, and it wasn't much fun to hunt when your stomach was yelling at you.

Kohaku was out just wondering. Getting away from the other males in the pride. At least, as much as he could. Not that he didn't mind living with them, he just liked time alone. He made sure he didn't go too close to the other clans, for he didn't want to upset any females that might find his presences annoying. Instead he just wondered in his usual direction.
His life had been pretty simple. The hardest part was leaving his mother to go live with the other males of the pride. Though, that turned out for the best. As much as he loved and respected his mother and sisters, he rather enjoyed being around other males more. It just seemed more comfortable. Not having to be formal, not having to be respectful all the time. He smirked at the thought.
He didn't notice the other that was moving towards him, mostly because his sight was fogged by thoughts swirling in his head. he was, after all, use to seeing bright colors rather then dark when it came to lions. He ignored any other shades of colors. His bright orange mane, and purple body seemed to stick out well though.

Kalila's eyes just caught sight of the mass of colour before her, and she paused. When she realized that it was a male, she felt a swirl of conflicting emotions wrap her heart. It wasn't fair that he was that way, but then it wasn't his fault, either. She was how she was, and she must have done something wrong in her past life to live like this now. All she could remind herself of was that at least she wasn't black or white; she had a little variance.
"Hello," she responded, nodding that she had noticed him. "Solitary confinement?" she asked with a smile, wondering if it was for something he had done, or just wanting to be alone. She couldn't blame him for either one, if it was.

Kohaku just about jumped when he heard a female voice. He didn't even notice anyone. He stopped in mid walk. One paw up as he looked around at who spoke to him. Perhaps it was his imagination.. Nope. His eyes fell on a dark lioness. "Who... Me?" He asked stupidly. "Nah, I'm just taking a walk." He said with a stupid grin upon his face.
He felt nervous, and awkward, but he tried to play it cool. He hadn't really talk to any females that weren't part of his family. "Can't always hang out with a bunch of males, right?" He gave a week chuckle. Finally realizing how stupid he must look with his paw up. He finally placed it down and gave another cheesy smile. "I didn't realize you were there, I apologize Ma'lady." He said giving a small bow. Again, looking completely stupid.

Kalili pondered on what he said. "Hmmm, I guess not." She knew she had been in an awkward position herself, being raised by a male. She didn't think she was terribly different, but she did act a little differently than some of the Rawal she had seen.
Her eyes flickered over him, curious. His colours seemed a little familiar, but Kalila never stuck her neck out much to really know anyone. She had only bothered to know of her sisters, and a bit of her brother.
"What's your name?" she asked bluntly, curious as a cat always was.

"I'm Kohaku." He said with a nod. "My mother is Kawarimono, and my father... Well you wouldn't have met him I don't think, but he's Narhari." He said with a nod. He wasn't sure how much of an importance that would be to the female, but it was how he greeted everyone that asked who he was. "And your name? Unless you don't care to share, of course" He added with a nervous chuckle.
Not that he knew if lionesses liked to share their names at all. He'd have to ask someone later about it. Or her if they got on to a more comfortable conversation level. He flicked his tail. "Do you want to walk around? I mean, it's better then just sitting here."

That name..."I think I've heard your mother's name mentioned before," she replied. "Through talk in the clan." She never really paid attention. She usually just slipped off to hunt, to be useful at some point. She looked at him, at Kohaku. Well, she wasn't the same as him, but, honestly? He was really respectful, and that game him props right there. She never understood why some of the males revolted against it. It wasn't like they abused them!
She was shaken from her odd thoughts by his offer to walk. "Ah, sure," she answered, realizing that she had forgotten to mention her own name. "I'm Kalila, of Tarka."

He gave her a gentle smile. At least this was going better then he thought it was going to. Sometimes his older sister could be quiet mean, and it always made him wonder if other females were like that. But seeing here, it wasn't always true. He inclined his head after she gave him her name. It seemed like the thing to do, after all. His mother made sure he was to give everyone with respect and be as good of a gentleman as he could.
"Do you have any place in mind, or would you just like to wonder around aimlessly, Kalila?" he asked her.

"Wandering around seems best. Though we should probably avoid the central area of the pride..." she said softly, as he probably knew. It wouldn't hurt to say it out loud, to make sure they would think of the same thing. "Though most of the females I know of aren't too bad, I don't want to attract the attention of a Rawal." A few of them could be crew, especially to her. The only bright colour she posessed was her eyes, and that never seemed to count for anything.
"I've only heard of the cruel ones, but I know that they are there," she explained with a nod. "It might ruin the pleseant afternoon."

He smiled at her. "Whatever you wish. I wouldn't like it if someone decided that it would be fun to tease you or I." He said with a nod. He knew of one female who wasn't very nice, but she tended to avoid him cause she didn't want to admit that they were half siblings. That didn't bother him though. "It's best to try not to look for those cruel ones." He nodded.
"Are you hungry?" He asked her. "I'm not really much of a hunter, but I know where to find some good hare to try to catch." he asked her. "Could be fun..."

Kalila smiled. He was nice, and not really in the 'i have to be nice' sort of way. He genuinely was. "Yes, that would be nice," she said with a smile. "Something small to tide us over until a full meal later~" One which maybe she would go out and help with. She wasn't much of a hunter either, but sometimes it was nice to put forth the effort of your own meal.
"Well then, let's go!" Kalila was a little more excited at the prospect of getting out for a while. Sometimes the jungle could feel so suffocating.
Fin.
