Appearance: Albain Blanc is a strange and mysterious gentleman. His body is deceptively frail; His wispy form appears as though it could snap at the slightest wind, but he is as heavy as a normal person - his bones are very dense. His face is ethereally beautiful, and his hair and eyes both appear to be sterling silver in color despite his youthful appearance. He is commonly clad in clothing of white and black, with a garish top-hat upon which is mounted some kind of guage whose purpose is unclear. It is important - and often, disturbing - to note that Albain often seems to simply forget to breathe, yet suffers no ill effects from it.
Personality: Albain is a refined, often underspoken gentleman. His behavior often seems to border on the stoic. There are two exceptions to this: Around truly brutish or unethical/immoral behavior, Albain can't sit still. Nine times out of ten he will take action to end it. Around children, Albain's heart seems to melt, and he becomes very friendly and affectionate, though still with an air of restraint, all too aware of predators and not wishing to make parents uneasy. It is also notable that Albain seems to take an alarming amount of notice of his surroundings, to the point where one might gather that he is paranoid. Left to his own devices, he often spends his time either moongazing, reading by a moonlit window, or constructing small, relatively useless machines out of sterling silver in order to keep his engineering skills sharp. He often gifts these constructions to children who take a shine to him.
Background: Very little is known of Albain's past; He often claims to be an engineering student from a Parisian academy. If one were to perform a background check, however, no Albain Blanc had ever enrolled in the named academy. The name has also shown up in historical books twice before; Once in the dark ages, and once in Renaissance. Both times the figure was a relatively low-key individual, noted for ingenuity but also for their evasiveness and at times hermetic quality. It is unclear if these are the same Albain, or if Albain could possibly be either or both of these two individuals.
Abilities:
Bone Density - Despite Albain's fragile appearance, his bones are very dense, making him harder to injure than a normal person. His skull is especially dense.
Breathlessness - Albain often seems to forget to breathe. When he does breathe, his chest doesn't 'rise.' This can cast him in an unnerving light, to those susceptible to the Uncanny Valley effect. He seems to suffer no ill effects from this. However, oddly, when in an area with no light, he suffers similar symptoms to those suffering from oxygen deprivation. Conversely, on the nights of significant Lunar events, he seems to be incredibly energized, particularly when directly exposed to the moonlight in question.
Telekinesis - Albain possesses mild telepathic ability. He is unable to read minds, but can move objects without his hands; He often uses this in his construction process, making objects that are more intricate than would be possible with hands or tools, and with smaller parts. When sufficiently agitated, the 'power' of his telekinesis raises by a sharp degree, but at the cost of accuracy and precision.
Mysteriously, this ability disappears on the night of a Lunar Eclipse.
Albain does not commonly let others be privy to the fact he has this ability.
Lunar Mysticism - On the nights of significant Lunar Events such as Full or Harvest moons, Albain is capable of utilizing magical abilities. He can create 'vulgar' effects, such as beams of silver plasma or energy-fields for protection or transportation. However, he favors and specializes in subtler effects. He is also able to transform the shape of materials, allowing him to much more easily assemble constructions; As well, he can create constructions capable of achieving magical effects. This includes granting them intelligence and a 'soul'.
On the night of a Lunar Eclipse, not only does he have no access to this ability, but all magically-infused constructions he has created become entirely inactive until the eclipse has passed, leaving him dependant on his mundanely-created items.
As with his telekinetic ability, Albain is not particularly forthcoming about his possession of magic. It is very rare he even allows others to discover the constructs he creates with it.
