(Fever dreams are awesome! >> )
"Hello?" This was a strange place that Cal ended up in. The shadows were long and intimidating, swirling around her. She stumbled back to the edge of a cliff. The shadows leered at her with gleaming eyes. They turned into various figures that loomed over her all chanting for her to jump. She looked over the edge seeing a dark abyss lined with jagged rocks protruding dangerously. One of the figures came up close enough for her to recognize it. He smiled. It was Seth looking as menacing and dangerous as ever. Without a word, he simply pushed her over the edge, laughing manically.
Cal woke with a start, sweating and putting a shaking hand to her head. Fever dreams were the worst. Her breathing was quick as she looked around the room. It was obvious that she was in the in the infirmary, but how had she gotten there. The last thing she remembered was being in a field with Mau and... What had happened to Mau!? Before that thought was complete, a Pikachu was attached to her arm. She flinched painfully.
"What the hell!" She looked over at the blue eyed Pikachu who seemed relieved to see her alright.
"Pika chu Pi!" Skye was overjoyed that Cal was up and talking, not how she had been while she was out with continual mumbling.
Cal patted Skye on the head affectionately. "Do you know how I got her buddy?"

Mau was somewhat stubborn. Because of the guilt he felt for putting Cal in danger, he hadn't left the care unit since they had gotten back to HQ. Cal had gotten some treatment in Jinko town so she was stable enough for Mau to take her back to HQ.
He had his arms crossed and his head was down, asleep, until Cal spoke and Skye let out his excited exclamations. He looked up at Cal. "Bout time you woke up, you lazy girl." He said softly, teasing. "How are you feeling?"

There was a soft knock on the door, before the red headed doctor opened the door and stepped in.
"Ah, you're awake. Good... I was starting to wonder."
She stepped over to check Cal's vitals. Raising a brow at the slightly elevated heart rate. Also noticing that the girl was sweaty and looking a bit shaken.
She glanced at Mau and then back to Cal. "Are you feeling all right?"

"How long was I out?" She rubbed her temples trying to soothe her headache. "What happened?" Cal's hands were still shaking when she felt a twinge of pain. "I... I think I'm going to be sick..." She bent over the side of the bed in a hurry hoping that there was a waste basket near.
Skye shyed away from Cal as she evacuated her stomach, cuddling up to Mau instead.

"Cal, are you ok?" Mau asked before Skye snuggled up to him and Cal retched. "I'll take that as a no." He sighed, reaching down to pick up Skye from the floor. "You've been out for a couple days. Do you remember the clinic in Jinko? You got poisoned pretty bad."

The doctor saw it coming and swiftly pulled the trashcan over to catch Cal's stomach contents.
"Suffering from nausea I see. Not unusual." The wrote that down on her clipboard. It wasn't as if this kind of thing surprised her. It happened all the time in the infirmary.

Cal uttered a thanks to the doctor wiping her mouth with her arm. "A couple of days?" She patted her damp forehead with her hand. "It didn't seem that long...." She pulled at her hospital gown. "I'm assuming you didn't change me." She smiled trying to lighten the mood.
She looked at the doctor's clipboard with a slight nod. "How am I doing so far? What about my leg?" She removed the sheet from her legs, seeing that her right leg was a deep shade a purple. She shivered remembering the pain from the Beedrill's sting. The color had spread from it's original point, about mid-calf, to just below her knee. "This doesn't look too good." She touched it and winced in pain.

"Well, we discovered that you're highly allergic to Beedrill stings." The doctor said as she reviewed the data on her clipboard.
"Fortunately we were able to stop the infection before it could develop into necrosis. But as you can see... you've been left with some bruising and discoloration. The swelling has gone down tremendously as well."
The doctor pushed up her glasses, looking most serious. "I have you on some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication. It will take some time to heal, but you will be fine. I'm keeping you here for observation. This was quite a shock to your system, so you need to rest."

Mau was about to give an indignant reply that he was a gentleman and most certainly did NOT change Cal, but let it slide with a faint smile instead.
"Have to go and be different, huh Cal? There aren't many people that allergic to beedrill, and here you are..." He was teasing of course, but still looked quite worried about her.

"Highly allergic?" She would make sure not to be near any Beedrill in the future. Or at least a bit more careful. Her leg throbbed a little, but other than that and the soreness it was fine. "I'm glad you didn't have to amputate it." She laughed halfheartedly before breaking into a fit of coughing, lying back hoping to cease it.
She looked over at Mau with a slight smirk. "I'm just being myself, and if I'm different, then so be it." She huffed, crossing her arms in a poor attempt of being upset.
Cal recovered her leg. She could hardly bear to look at the purple thing any longer. Skye decided that it would be safe to join her once again, making his way gracefully to her lap.

"Well, I'm glad you're feeling better. I was afraid I was gonna be kicked out of the infirmary. I'd have had to take Skye with me to my room, and I have a stash of spicy berries that I just know wouldn't have been safe with him around." He teased with a soft smile. "So when are you going to get back out to training, hm? Seems that we gotta toughen you up."
Mau looked away with a sigh. "I'm sorry I put you in danger, kiddo."

Skye perked up at the mention of spicy poffins. He couldn't resist the urge to seek them out. He would need to follow Mau when he left to go to his room.
Cal knew the Pikachu was scheeming, so she pulled on his tail to get his attention back on her. He growled a bit, but when she began to rub his belly he settled down. She cleared her throat with a shaky cough, "I'm better than ok! I'm super~" She smiled trying to cheer him up. She believed that there should only be one person who was sad or upset; her. She scoffed at Mau, "Don't feel bad. I live for danger! I was going to be there alone anyway, so it would've happened. The good thing is that you were there. You pretty much saved me." She smiled warmly at him.
"So Doc," she shifted in the bed, "when will I be able to get outta here?" She didn't want to spend another day in there.

The doc was busy writing down notes when the question came up. The woman lifted her brows. "A few days at least. Not until that leg clears up and I'm sure that you won't have any more reactions."
She would just have to deal with it and sit tight for a while longer. After all, she had just regained consciousness. Its not like she could just go leaping out of bed the moment she woke up.
"Your body is very weak. So you need to rest and regain your strength. So... no trying to get out of bed without a nurse assisting you until you're stronger."
With that, the doctor returned Cal's chart to the foot of her bed. "If you need anything, just push the button next to you." And out the door she went.

"Well how do you like that? You get to simply loaf around for a few days." He teased then yawned. He had been sitting in this room for far too long, anxious, waiting to see that Cal was alright.
Now that she was awake, and Mau could see she was alright, he felt exhausted. Stiff, sore, and worn out. When was the last time he had slept?
"Cal, I'm glad to see you're doing better. But I think the doctors will be glad to see me get out of here finally." He smiled, looking worn and worried. "I'll come back in the morning to see how you're doing." He stood and stretched. "And I'll bring some berries for Skye." With that, he smiled again, and turned to leave, almost walking into the door as he pushed, rather then pulled.

Cal sighed at he doctor's orders. "Ok, thank you." She watched as the doctor left and shifted uneasily in the bed. She would just have to be in here for a while longer, there wasn't anything wrong with that. All she needed to do was get comfortable and relax. That actually sounded like a great plan to her. If only she wasn't in the infirmary, then it would be a different story.
"You're leaving?" She knew it would have been too much to ask for him to stay any longer. He was already doing so much for her just by staying as long as he did. "Hope you get a lot of rest!" She smiled, "It looks like you need it!" She laughed as he almost walked out the door. He must have really need to get some sleep soon.
Skye's ears perked up as soon as Mau had mentioned berries. He was already tuned in on what Mau had been talking about since he had earlier mentioned poffins. He couldn't resist the temptation to follow the man with the berries. When Cal wasn't paying too much attention to him, he edged off the bed, ever so slowly, until he was able to follow Mau. Hopefully he wasn't noticed by anyone else in the HQ.
Cal eventually drifted into a peaceful sleep to pass the time until she would be let out of the infirmary. He days were spent bored and wondering where Skye had gone off to.
