Ok, so this is my first game in this guild so if it isn't the right theme or something just let me know thanks!

In the world of Kalithre there are magics at work that no one knew about until the year 5025. In that year Armageddon came, or so many thought. The skies turned red and fire fell from the sky, volcanoes erupted and earthquakes shook the earth. An ice age came in which made all of the humans that lived there fight with each other for the last fertile land around their equator. Two factions arose out of this, the Gyphon Empire consisting of the tropical isles in the western hemisphere, and the Typhian Republic, which was based on what was left of the super continent in the eastern hemisphere. When the ice age ended so did the civil war between the people of 5025, but something happened that none of the people who lived in that age foresaw. Rifts had opened in time and space, magical rifts that could be traveled through to parallel universes, or time. Through these rifts came creatures which destroyed civilization as they knew it. Mankind on Kalithre fell into darkness. The Empires of Gyphon and Typhian retreated to their capitals and created megatropolises of the old world. In the outlying regions there are magic users, ritual worshipers, and fighters with enchanted weapons these people live quite high quality but are generally considered ‘uncivilized’ by the people megatropolises. The people in the megatroplises rely mainly on cybernetic augmentation, and their advanced weaponry and technology. In this time life on the ‘outskirts’ is a battle for survival versus the creatures from the rifts and life in the megatropolises is a life of lies, deceit, and conspiracy for power.

Name: Zandorn Ericia Doneus
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Hometown: Under district of Typhia
Occupation:
Preferred Weapon: Dual silenced pistols or using his martial talents
Cybernetics: Cyber brain, Optical Enhancers (yields infra-red, night, and thermo visions in addition to having binocular vision)
Preferred style of magic: Illusion magic (he can partially mask his appearance or make adjustments to his surroundings that people untrained in magic would not be able to notice)
Personality: Zandorn is a skilled politician, though not by choice. He grew up in the capital of the Typhian republic, therefore he had to learn how to tell when someone was lying and how to lie himself or he would be barreled over. He is really cheerful however, and enjoys jokes and merry making. He is trained in various forms of combat such as hand to hand fighting and how to fire pistols so he can have an edge if he needs to.
Appearance: Zandorn is taller, standing about 5' 10'' he also has long black hair that goes behind his ears. He has dark brown eyes and dresses usually in black. He usually wears a black trench coat which hides dual concealable pistols and a knife; he also wears a bullet proof vest under a dress shirt with a silver tie, while also wearing black pants. He also often wears sunglasses or a single optical eyepiece that goes around his ear.
Bio: Zandorn grew up in Typhia to a prestigious noble house. He had to learn how to be polite and considerate while also keeping an eye on the situation at all times. He quickly learned how to tell if someone was lying when he went to his private school and got swindled by his 'friends' many times because they managed to talk around him. His father had him learn many ways to defend himself versus attack and Zandorn is a very competent fighter. When he went through his rebellious times he secretly went to a school of illusion, there he learned how to harness the magical energies in the air around him to warp the appearance of things in his environment this was dangerous because magic is usually fround upon by the nobility of the republic and it could have ruined his father's carrer. He got cybernetic implants in his eyes because for a while he was afraid of being killed in his sleep so he wanted a way to see in the dark. Lately he has been traveling more around the world because he got sick of all of the secrets that were in the city of Typhia, though he does go back to visit often.

((this is what I would consider a 'young world' so feel free to make up all sorts of stuff for your character such as hometowns and feel free to get creative with your cybernetics if you choose to have any.))

Name: Telma Odiris Fay
Age: 23 years
Gender: female
Hometown: Kelsore in Gyphon Empire
Occupation: whatever it takes.
Prefered Weapon: her gun.
Prefered style of magic: invisibility.
Personality: quiet, hardly noticed, and not very opinionated. On the other hand, extremely determined, not easily deterred, and loyal.
Apperance: reference picture.
Bio: Telma lived an ordinary life of a middle-class family until she applied for a job in law-enforcement. She was the perfect combination for undercover cop and espionage employee, and worked her way up the ladder until she was assigned the position of spy for the Empire itself. (And she got that job without telling them she had learned the power of invisibility.) She's out wandering now, waiting to run into something or someone useful.

Our story begins in the distraught world of Kalithre, where science and magic have met to disasterous ends. We start in one specific place, a small town named Portaltown, not very original but it makes up for it in the way that there is a giant interdimentional portal in the center of town. Why people built a town around this portal none may ever know, however there is a strong cult following in town which believes that these portals are acually portals to heaven or hell, and these creatures and sometimes people that come out of them are devine in every way. In this town we start in the portalgoers inn, where several people are sitting around a table playing cards.

Ugh... these people are soo horrible at this game! Zandorn thought to himself as he won another 20 gold pieces, though, these aren't worth much after converted into Typhian credits... he thought to himself with a sigh

((there, a vague start so anyone who still wants to jump in can with ease lol))

Also in that inn was a girl most people didn't notice, but for once it wasn't because they couldn't see her. Telma Odiris Fay sometimes had bad luck with finding decent places to stay, and sometimes good luck, but this inn was somewhere in the middle and it was all she had for the night.
She was going unnoticed mostly because she was as firmly inserted into the corner of the main room as she could be, watching around her with interest not shown on her face. A minor reason as to why she was not noticed was because no one thought she had a gun.
No one could see the gun hanging directly on her hip, unhindered by tunic or glove.
Telma could turn anything invisible - herself, her belongings, objects up to one hundred feet away, and, most importantly, her gun and its holster. She simply found it easier to walk around as though she did not have one, and it was a benefit if someone tried to pick a fight.
But no one was picking a fight with her this instant. So she was free to watch intently as a possible subject gambled his way to riches against the petty locals.

one of the people at the table Zandorn was sitting at stood up suddenly, obviously drunk he shouted, "Ay you! I think ur cheatin'!" is speech was extremely slurred and he was swaying back and forth.
"With all due respect kind sir, how do you propose I am doing it? Especially in your intoxicated state I highly doubt you'd notice me slip even a large drink up my sleeve, much less a small card." Zandorn replyed slowly, the man turned a scarlet color and flipped the table onto its side and charged at Zandorn. Zandorn kicked his chair backward and did a backroll, when he was upright again he kicked againsed the ground, flying right at the large man. He shoved his fist deep into the man's face and felt his nose break. The man fell over backward balling and then ran quickly out of the bar.
"What?" Zandorn asked the people at the table who were gawking at him.

Telma rolled her eyes. 'Men.' Quietly, she hoisted herself out of the corner and walked over to the upturned table. Ignoring everyone, she pushed the table into its rightful position and began to clean up everything that had spilled.

the croud of people who were playing the game dispursed leaving Zandorn and Telma standing alone at the table, "Hello" Zandorn said cautiously, "Thank you for the help, but I can get the rest from here... It is partially my fault this happened after all." he said, picking up a glass that somehow survived its fall onto the ground and set it on the table.

Telma resisted the urge to shake her head. Like heck he could. "You seem to have upset the people here," she asked. "Have they got a grudge against you?"

Zandorn laughed a bit, "No, they just thought I was cheating it is late and they were drunk I suppose it wasn't the best time to have a friendly game of cards..." Zandorn sighed as the barkeep stolled over and offered him the stick end of a broom
PostPosted: Sun May 09, 2010 11:55 am

Telma grabbed the broom herself and started sweeping as though she hadn't done anything unusual. "So you're not from around here, or they would trust you." She paused in her sweeping. "Or they would have a grudge against you and wouldn't let you play in the first place. The point is, you're not from around here."

Zandorn smiled a bit, "Is it really that obvious...?" He asked picking up some small bits of glass that were under the table, "So you are from around here then?" he asked, trying to make conversation.

((sorry, no internet this last weekend...))

[[Eh, don't worry about it.]]
Inwardly Telma stiffened, but she decided to answer. "No, I'm not. Where are you from?"

"Eh, I was born in Typhia," He said, he continued softly, "But I don't talk about it much, old scars heal slow you know." He finished stacking glass shards onto the table, "Howabout you? Where you from?"
