Delilah
Name meaning: Hebrew meaning 'languishing, lovelorn, & seductive'. Stage: Shadow Gender: Female Birthday: April 18, 2010 Personality: Like most of her kind, Delilah is curious and outgoing. She isn't afraid to talk to just about anyone, even if they don't understand her.
The only draw backs are her habits of sneaking around desks and running off with office supplies. She's notorious for picking out brightly colored pens, neons being a favorite and storing them in her pot. But don't touch them. She gets violent if her things are touched and then she'll spend the rest of the day reorganizing the mess you made with her things. Afflicted with: Kleptomania (Oh lord, the pens...) & OCD

For ten days straight Sophie Pendragon was learning magic. She poured over “A Beginner’s Guide to Spells” night and day, without much success. Most spells were left undone, the materials stacked up in a hap-hazard mess in the corner. The only reason she was in this mess to begin with was to show Deirdre she really was a witch. That little brat ranted on that real witches could do any kind of magic, any time of the day while Sophie only nagged.
“I’ll show her, “ she’d thought, but so far the book was showing Sophie.
The young stitch witch looked over at a cracked flower pot by her window sill for the longest time before snapping out of her thoughts. She licked her lips and found them dry. “Time to quit, I suppose. Magic is for the gifted, and I much prefer cleaning anyway.” Brightened, she left the room with a smile.
……
Three hours later when she returned she literally screamed. Her entire desk was turned upside down with ink splattered on the curtains and bedspread, while a little black toddler sat over the cracked pot, organizing things inside. Even without the lights on Sophie could see that she had petals around her head and when the girl looked at Sophie, her luminescent eyes sparkled. “Deli li!”
The Shadow jumped off the sill, bounced off her fallen desk chair and flung herself at Sophie. They both almost tumbled back, but luckily they stayed up, thought the girl never let go of Sophie. In fact, she snuggled closer, having clung to her chest.
“….Where did you come from?”
“De li li~”
“Adrian!”

Random prompt response #36- Aww, why thank you!
Sophie sat on a swing that hung from a giant tree some ways away from the castle. Some way or another she’d ended up not only watching Delilah, but Deirdre as well. The two scampered in the dusk, jumping up to snatch fireflies before chattering amongst themselves and letting them go.
She tilted her head to the side to try and hear them, but what was the use? They were too far away.
Deirdre held her hand out and motioned for Delilah to follow her. The eager shadow did as she was told, snatching the back of Deirdre’s dress before the toddler started chasing a cluster of them. This was so much fun! She was active, the little mistress. And she didn’t want to play around in weird air clouds, like mistress. Delilah ‘oooohed’ when Deirdre caught two on her fingers, wriggling them around to show her.
“Here, you can have these.” Deirdre gave them to Delilah, who was so transfixed by them that she didn’t notice when Deirdre had gone. Feeling alone and scared, she ran back to Sophie as fast as her chubby little legs could carry her.
She tripped and fell, her semi-corporal face splatting against the ground. “Liiiiiiiiiiiiii~” She didn’t even move when she started to wail.
Sophie was at her side in an instant. “Are you alright, Delilah? Where does it hurt?” She helped the shadow sit up, looking over her for an injury, but as she suspected, not finding any.
Delilah looked down at her hand and sat the fireflies were still there. Even if they weren’t moving. She held them up to Sophie with a sniffle.
“Ohh….why, thank you, Delilah.” Awkwardly, the witch took them and looked down at their corpses. “Their lovely.”
Delilah wrapped her arms around Sophie’s waste and snuggled her, happy to have done something good for mistress.

Random Prompt Response #24 - Dress up time!
Delilah didn’t understand why mistress was gone. Mistress was gone a lot, and always to visit a Howl. Lots of things howled in the castle, so why did she have to go away to hear one? Whatever it was, it sounded loud, and she preferred the quiet that was Adrian’s office.
The little shadow spent a lot of her time in here. She perused the files in the cabinets, scattering their contents all over the floor. Delilah picked up a manila folder, twisting it in her hands before sitting it atop her head. It went perfectly with her signature paperclip necklace.
With a giddy squeal, she scampered over to his desk and started ripping out drawers. They slammed onto the floor. Delilah was in heaven! She looked at all the pens and highlighters, tape and staples like a kid in a candy store. She picked up a pen and attached it to her necklace, then another one, and another. Then she made a tape bracelet around her wrist, decorating it in pretty high lighter scribbles.
“God’s blood.”
Delilah peeped out from around the desk…then looked up. Adrian stood in the doorway, his mouth so far agape it could have touched the floor. “What….what happened?” His disbelieving eyes looked down at Delilah, who squeaked and hid behind the desk. Oh no! The jig was up.
Adrian crossed the distance quickly, despite having to maneuver around the mess. He leaned over the desk and though he wanted to throttle her, the sight of the little shadow shivering made him smile. “Come on, it’s alright.” He plucked her up and sat her atop the cherry wood. “Were you playing dress up, Delilah?”
She opened one eye, then the other and nodded. “Li li~” She held her arms out to show him. Then her folder hat fell over. Delilah picked it up, but instead of putting it on herself she held it out for him.
“For me?” Adrian took it and sat it atop his head. “How do I look?”
The shadow giggled. He looked good, the best he ever had in one of her pretties.
“Sophie’s home.” Instantly, Delilah’s face brightened. “Let’s go show her how cute you look.”
She hopped off the desk and reached up for his hand before dragging Adrian down the hall.

Sophie woke up early in the mornings so she could beat the rush to the kitchens. She liked to just go in and have breakfast by herself, without the hustle and bustle of the staff around her. The child was still in her bloomers, hair sticking out as she dipped her spoon into the cereal bowl.
A petaled head popped up at her side, scaring her enough so that she dropped the spoon. “Delilah! You really have to stop doing that.”
“Li lah?” She cocked her head to the side like a bird, and then looked down at the fallen silverware. Instantly her eyes were transfixed on the shininess. The shadow got down on her knees and reached for it, clutching it to her chest.
“Hand it here.” Sophie held her hand out for it, only for Delilah to try to hide it. “Come on, hand it over. It’s dirty.”
But it was hers. Couldn’t mistress see that? Thinking on her toes, the shadow turned around, and hopped up to snatch another spoon from the dish drainer. She passed it over to Sophie with an expectant smile.
The stitch witch looked at it and shrugged. “Alright, so this one’s clean, that doesn’t mean you can steal the othe- Hey!” She turned around in her seat to see the tail end of a shadow on the run.
