Dagda yawned, shaking his large head. It had been a long day, and he wanted nothing more than to get back to the den area and eat and curl up next to his mate. This had been one of those days where he was glad he was such a large lion. Rogues were warded off easier when you had the size behind the claws.

He stopped a moment to yawn again, stretching. Just a little further.

Caide was visiting his mom this night and had brought his son with him. Of course she knew Wyconda was deaf, so they were signing when they were speaking to him. Well, signing the way they came up with. Currently, they were discussing future positions for Wyconda since he was deaf. Hunting would be hard, a Ghost was impossible and a herder just didn't seem to fit; not that there was anything wrong with cub sitting.

"I just don't know what else there is for him..." Caide said, exasperated beyond belief. He and Chache had talked about this before, but nothing was said. Chache didn't know much about this pride, either.

Wyconda had a few ideas of what he could be; he didn't mind cub sitting. In fact, the blue eyed deaf cub adored other cubs! They were fun to play with, easy to understand when they knew about his weakness, and often times tried to talk to him in a way he could understand. Not all cubs were like this, of course. He flicked his tail a few times as his dad talked to his grandmother and rolled his eyes. This was boring. So, instead, he moved to the mouth of the den and sat there. With his hearing gone, his eyesight was good.

Something was coming from the mists; something big and dark and smelled like his family. His interest was piqued and he sat there, waiting patiently for whatever it was.

The Warrior took a curious sniff as he came near. Ah...Caide was here, visiting Codail. Well...he'd give them a little more mother/son time. Another scent caught his attention and he looked down. Well now! He smiled and hunkered down to the cub's height.

"Hello, little one." Which one was this one again? Dagda wasn't so good at putting names to faces he didn't see often. And he didn't see his family as often as he wanted, sadly...

The bigger gray of the two turned his head to Dagda and gave a smile. "Wyconda. He's Wyconda. The completely deaf one." He moved to butt his head against the other males and grinned. Of course Caide knew that Dagda didn't know which cub this was. He last saw them when they first discovered about half of their litter was deaf. Just little things then.

"You wouldn't know what kind of place Wyconda could have later on in life, do you?" he asked, arching a brow. Maybe he would know.

The red maned boy was completely oblivious to the conversation happening, but he did make a chirping noise when Dagda appeared OUT OF NO WHERE. Was the whole PRIDE good at this kind of thing? He jumped and then shifted under his father, peeking out at the bigger male with his big blue eyes and looked at him questioningly.

Ah! Dagda thought it a shame that about half the litter Caide had fathered was deaf...but it was bound to happen, with the mother being deaf. Didn't mean Dagda loved his grandcubs any less. Even if they weren't his by blood. "Hmmm...that is a quandry." He looked in thought a moment. "Perhaps...a Shepard, like his mother and grandmother? Maybe a Shaman. One doesn't need to hear to know the plants and healing techniques of the pride."

He smiled calmly at Wyconda, trying his best to look soothing. Poor boy...he hadn't meant to surprise or spook him!

Caide looked to his son and arched a brow. He should know the whole pride was like this by now. They often blended in with the mists, without meaning too. But when Dagda spoke again, he nodded. A Shaman would be an excellent position for him!

"I knew you'd have the answer, dad!" He grinned at that. Why couldn't he call Dagda dad? After all, he was with his mother, which meant he was a step-father. But it sounded so odd saying that word. He wasn't used to it quiet yet. "I can help im become a Shaman. If he's interested."

He turned to Wyconda and spoke to him in the language they'd developed for situations like this. He also explained that the big brown male wasn't harmful in the least.

Blue eyes danced as his father spoke to him about becoming a Shaman, and he was all to eager to agree to it. Then he looked at his grandfather with love in his eyes. A few words of reassurance was all he needed to trust someone. The little cub moved over and sat down in front of Dadga and then pawed at the main on his chest with a little happy noise.

Dagda always felt a swell of pride when one of Codail's called him 'Dad'. It meant more to him than they might have thought, that they accepted him like that. He gave Caide a smile, nodding. "I'm glad I could help." He looked back to Wynconda, chuckling. He reached a paw up to carefully pat the cub's head, mindful of his size compared to Wyconda's.

"Do you think...I could learn how you talked with him Caide?" He wanted to be able to communicate with all of his family. And he was more than willing to learn a new way of 'talking' if that made it possible.
