Dark fur shifted as the male stretched and got himself ready for another hard day. There would be no sneaking away to see his girlfriend today, but may in another day or two. They were getting ready to start admitting new members to the Anbu and he had to set the prime example of what a member of the Anbu was. Well toned, strong, level-headed, and faster than the blink of an eye. Since he had been little and learned that Valiant and Joshua were not his parents and the real truth of his lineage he had been hell bent on showing his biological father what he was made of, worth being called his son. But as time had gone on Jiji had learned about his father lecherous, perverted ways about the Anbu and its Konoichi.

Blue, gold rimmed eyes looked out and around. He'd slunk off to a secluded area he often disappeared to in order to be alone, there was a tree here with a old squirrel hollow that he'd chased the squirrels away from; one of which he caught and brought back to camp for food. He had yet to make the hollow his own personal residence but it wouldn't belong before he did. Picking himself up off the ground and brushing off his pants from the dirt that clung there he turned back towards the camp. He had to get back in time to get his morning assignment he was always early. Raco made it a point that everyone was to be there on time, if not there was punishment. Though being in the most elite force brought immense respect that did not mean they were free from standards they kept outside of camp compared to the inside. In fact some even considered most of the standards even higher.

Shrugging of the feeling that something odd was going to happen today. The camp come up on him as well as the usual morning bustle as the night shift became to filter in and switch out with the day shifts keeping watch over all parts of Ikebokuro, since the mass disappearances of kitten about the city watches had been increased in the hopes of preventing more but with little success. There in the center of the camp around the dying fire from the night before stood a few sleepy eyed cats waiting for Raco as one, a thin Konoichi leaned her head on one of the older males whose head drooped to his chest as he snorted quietly. Jiji merely snorted in laughter at them as he took a seat across from them waiting for Raco to arrive and hand out the assignments.

Takashi was never late, had not once complained, and not otherwise have shown disrespect to his elders. The only thing that disqualified him from possibly being a good role model was his lack of patience to deal with teams. Maybe it was a manifestation of pride or simply his taciturn personality, but the cat disliked working in groups - at least with cats he did not know yet. Seeing as he was at least somewhat familiar with the group in the East (minus maybe the happenings of the families that stayed within the territory but were not ANBU), Takashi had never had to face that problem, even if he did like to keep to himself most of the day.

Now with word that Youko was opening up more slots for worthy cats, the blue-haired teen found himself rather reluctant to be ready for new recruits. Unfortunately, he also knew that the ANBU needed newblood. From where he sat just a little off to the side but still within the circle, Takashi sighed quietly, his veil ever up, his hands loose upon his lap, his legs crossed as if preparing for meditation. This was the group he could be relaxed with, not these future recruits . . . Though never once did he voice his opinion; it was for the good of the ANBU after all - his thoughts upon it didn't matter.

At length Jiji joined them, and Taka inclined his head in greeting, lightly tugging one of the male's pants legs to alert him, but of course the situation remained casual as usual; he could never understand how someone could treat a son of the master as such, ever rigid in his ideas that somehow this made them like nobles amongst a motley group of cats. "Ohayō gozaimasu, Jiji-san," he greeted politely. "Ready for today's assignment?"

Jiji blinked a little at Taka with his formal welcome. "Ohayō, Takashi-san..." he said lightly scratching at his neck. Takashi was older than him, mind you not by much but he was still older so being called '-san' was extreme odd. He might have been Youko's son, but Youko treated him like everyone else, barely acknowledging Jiji as anything more than another of the younger Anbu.

The snoozing male looked up at the tug of his pants and blinked up spotting Jiji and lifted a hand up. "Yo..." he yawned giving his shoulder a nudge to wake up the female. She as well shifted a pitiful pout spreading over her face as she looked at Jiji. "Heya..." she moaned and started to fix her hair, tying it back in a tight braid behind her. "How much longer until Raco gets here?" she whined and looked around the usually anti-social male.

Jiji raised a brow to the female, he didn't know her name, he kepts his distance usually from most of the Konoichi, when he'd been little he'd loved to watch them dance half naked about the fires but now, he had Nyx and could have cared less about them, but even before Nyx the appeal of the female body had lost all of its surprises. "He'll get here when he gets here. You're fault you probably stayed up half the night drinking and humping him." he said giving a nod of his head to the male she had been leaning on making the females eyes grow wide and her face turn bright red before she hid behind her long bangs, the male merely snorted in laughter.

Rolling his eyes he sat back waiting for Raco, he'd come when he was ready and just as though conjured by the mere utterance of his voice the Egyptian Mau made his way forward to them mismatched eye examining them all.

"Morning everyone..." he said smoothing nodding to each one of them. He sat down on an empty log and looked around to them, a rather small group had been arranged for this morning, but that was no matter it was a scouting day as it was and not often was it they needed too many for the job. "You'll be going out in groups today to do scouting." he said with a shrug. "Simple job, you all know w'at t'e 'ell you're doing so I doubt t'at I need to remind you. Jiji you go wit' Taka to t'e not'ern edge of East, Yuki and Gouhi you take t'e sout'ern. I find out you two were messing around you'll be in for it." he said with a slight growl. He knew as well what the two had been up to the night before and work was work and play was play, you never mixed the two. He and his mate Asha knew it all too well. "You 'ave your jobs now go on." he said getting up and walking away with a slight wave to them all.

Jiji blinked, this had been the shortest meeting he's ever had for assignments, but a job was a job and scout work was easy but always done in pairs. Looking back to Taka he gave a half smile and got up holding out a scarred hand. "Guess we're partners for the day." he said in effort to get be friendly, Jiji wasn't fond of group work either but when it was assigned he didn't complain.

Odd that the meeting was succinct. No news about the disappearance of cats or the laboratory that was at the center of it? No crime waves to worry about? Not even gossip? Well, not that Takashi was a gossiping sort, but the pure lack of news was just . . . boring? as ANBU, he should be thankful for peace at all, but it wasn't in times of peace that he could prove himself . . . And before any great storm was a small grace period of quiet. Was what this was maybe? Morbid wishful thinking shouldn't be commonplace, he thought with a frown, and shrugged it off as he stood, nodding to Raco before turning to Jiji. "Least I won't be witness to more sexual explicit acts or implications," he rasped in reply, not particularly caring if he was heard or not. As one the two set off to the north.

It was refreshing to be on the move in the morning! Especially since Taka put so much investment in the ANBU that frankly if he wasn't on a mission or training, he was . . . purposeless? There wasn't any remnant of a life outside of the group for him, sad as that sounded. The korat stuck to the trees as was his custom, managing to leap from branch to branch without making too much noise - in sandals. That sort of skill was an indicator of just how much time and effort he put into training, even long after the hellish route to getting where he was now was over with.

For a while, he said nothing and enjoyed the silence, the wind in his ears and against his skin, the morning light filtering through the leaves. Then, without preamble: "Have they considered scouting that facility near those ruins?"
