It wasn't all that strange to find a box outside of the shop. Not at all. In fact, it happened at least once a week! They were never marked in any way, and about eighty percent of the boxes all suspiciously looked the same. After a while she had stopped questioning it, which was again what happened that morning while she opened the shop.
The box looked the same as most of the others, but what was inside that surprised her! The box was filled with the rare evolving items that Gaia possessed; Kottan Bells, Gro-gain, Fallen Wish, Imaginary Friend...while the box did not possess every evolving item, it certainly had quite a few...and there were some duplicates, too!
Whoever this mysterious benefactor was, he or she was certainly helping Switch keep afloat.
Happily, the blue haired woman started taking inventory of the box, jotting down the name, generation and quantity of each item while she waited for some customers to start her day.

Ermingild or Gil as be preferred to be called, was a quiet sort of man, easily cowed by more aggressive people, wasn't exactly the best looking either. He was cute perhaps in a geekish sort of way but by no means was he a heart throb. It made people wonder how he'd ended up with the girl friend he had. Darcy, who wasn't presently with him, was a tall, leggy blond with substantially large... eyes and she claimed to love Gil with all her heart! Ermingild wasn't a dumb man though, he knew the real reason for her overwhelming love of him and it wasn't him as a person, it was his wallet. He couldn't complain though, better to have a girl friend in some sense of the word then to be alone right? He thought so.
Today he was out and about, shopping for a present for her. He loved the way that her eyes lit up when he got her something rare, expensive, or a combination of both. It was a nice feeling that he got by making her happy, it also kept her from wandering to greener pastures. He would rather put that off as long as was humanly possible after all. In his wanderings he found himself in front of an interesting sort of store, far different then the high end places he normally visited and most certainly not a jewelry store. It seemed more a place that he himself would like, a place that was full of odds and ends to be looked through. He chewed on his lips for a moment, considering, then gave a half shrug as he headed inside.
"No harm in looking around." He told himself, lifting a hand so he could adjust his heavy, thick lens glasses, and looked around. Just as he'd thought, a very interesting sort of place. A smile appeared on his lips as he started inside, looking around at everything that was on hand in an interested manner. What a cute little shop he found himself thinking, but nothing that Darcy would like would ever surface here unless they had a section of antique rings perhaps.

Switch paused in her inventory creating when the door opened, peering up from her books and box to see who it was. Ah, a stranger! She half expected it to be Kay, who was snoring when she left but generally always made it into the shop anyway. Poor Quinn, having to sleep in the same room as Kay...
"Hello! Welcome to Balcombe Curiousities, my name is Switch." She prattled on our of habit, though she seemed quite sincere with her words, and the smile on her lips as she spoke from behind her giant oak desk. "Take your time! Ah...I also just got in some of those neat evolving items as well, if you're interested." Because they never lasted long in her shop, she generally let everyone know when she did have them.

The man turned toward the voice that was welcoming him to the shop and he gave another smile, "Thank you for the welcome." He said, finding that there weren't enough shops this friendly left anymore unless of course they knew of your wealth, then they were nothing but smiles and compliments, "My name is Gil."
The mention of the evolving items seemed to spark his interest from the looks of it as he found himself drifting toward her, the other items in the shop at least for the moment forgotten, "I have only seen a few of those sorts of items myself, I am not as avid a collector as some are." He was still interested, more because he hadn't seen any of them before up close so this would be a good chance of getting to do just that. There were many of them gathered in what looked a bit like a shipping box, while others were scattered over the desk that the woman working at.
He gave her a smile as he got closer then reached out to look through them piece by piece, doing so in an extra careful manner so as not to risk damage the amazing items in the least, "These are all quite neat." He knew them by name and could recognize them from the advertisements he'd seen on numerous occasions and he found himself wondering why he'd never looked into getting one for himself before now. Likely because he preferred to spend his money on others instead of on himself he thought instantly.

"It's very nice to meet you, Gil." Switch said, leaning back from her inventory book to invite conversation. She had no idea who he was, nor the money he possessed; as far as she was concerned, he was just a regular customer. Green eyes watched him pick through the items, happy she was near finished marking them into her inventory book. There were one or two left, but they were items she recognized, like the Gogh Reed and Yemaya's Pearl.
"They really are! Have you ever played with one before? They are so cute." Giggling, she reached out to pick up one of the items that was a duplicate; a Hidden Ace. Scrolling through an image only she could see, she put the item on her head...and it changed her vibrant blue hair into swirling locks of pink. Snickering in amusement, she reached out for a second duplicated item; a Dappy Dandy. It must have been first gen, as after scrolling through it, she placed a bejewled blue hat with a red gem on the front and pure white feathers poking out from the back.
"And way too much fun." She laughed out while twirling the locks of the curious pink wig around a finger, seeming to enjoy herself.

Gil starred, eyes wide, as the woman used the items to drastically change her appearance with the items, "Amazing." He murmured, digging around through the box before he picked on of the items up and found himself starring at it, eyes a bit wide behind his glasses, "This is kind of pretty, isn't it?" It looked to be a sort of glittering star of some sort... what was this one called again? He tilted his head to one side as he tried his best to recall what it was called then gave a nod. Oh! Yes, Fallen Wish wasn't it? A sort of obvious name to give to a star item but it was still really nice wasn't it?
He found himself loathe to put it down, and he turned it over from one side to the other, "How much does this one usually run for?" He asked of the woman, curiously.

Switch felt a familiar bell sound in the back of her mind when Gil picked up the Fallen Wish. The item nearly instantly latched onto him! Oh man, and that was one of her best sellers, too! She shivered, passing off any jolt of surprise as a sudden chill. "Yes, it's very pretty!" She agreed happily, removing the Dappy Dandy and the Hidden Ace, placing them back into the box with their doubles. All in all, she looked thoughtful over how much they ran for.
"I'm not sure yet, the market for these things changes a lot, I haven't had the chance to call over." This part was true at least, and she went back to shifting through the box and the rest of the items to busy her hands while she tried to think on how to give it to him for free.
"But you know what, these items don't have a specified sender, I just found them on my doorstep this morning...you'd be surprised how often that happens." Chuckling, she picked up an Imaginary Friend, poking at it until it changed her skin into red plaid diamonds with yellow accents. "And I'm feeling pretty generous today, so you can just have that one. I haven't looked at that one yet, I don't even know what gen it is."

Gil looked a bit startled at that, "Ahh... what?" She was going to give the item to him? He looked at it in a surprised manner, nobody had ever given something to him before he thought to himself and while a part of him wanted to refuse, to say that it was to expensive of a gift he couldn't quite seem to get the words to travel from his brain to his mouth. Instead he just stood there was though struck dumb by her generous offer.
"It is... it is very kind of you..." He said in a quiet manner when he was able to find his voice again which had taken him far longer then he would have liked. He shifted the little star in his hands, looking over all that it could do, the different clothing options, little accessories, and he nodded, "If you are completely certain then I must accept or look rude." And the idea of turning down the first present he'd gotten in who knew how long wasn't something he could bring himself to do so easily.

"You can have it. For Free." Switch repeated herself when he seemed to not understand what she was saying. Usually such a comment would have made her mildly sarcastic, but the EI's had put her into a pretty good mood. She removed the Imaginary Friend, returning her skin to normal, and waited for him to process his thoughts.
"I'm more than sure! Just...no returns or exchanges." Chuckling, and winked at him and moved to sit back down, stretching her arms above her head. "Thank you for accepting the gift! They're fun to have, I'm sure you'll have a blast with it." Her arms came back down to rest on her inventory book, drumming her fingers along the surface. Suddenly, she gasped as though recalling something.
"Oh, shoot...don't let me stop you from looking around though, there are still some amazing items here."

He gave a smile as he went about inspecting the item once more, looking almost like a child that had been given exactly what he wanted for his birthday or something, "I thank you, very much, for this wonderful gift." He said to her, not sure why she would think that he would want to return or exchange it. He was in the midst of playing around with the item when his watch went off, the alarm on it beeping insistently.
Gil looked down at the time piece, sighed, then gave Switch a smile, "I will be sure to come back again some time soon to look around." He told the woman, as much as he wanted to stay here and continue to look around he had to be meeting Darcy soon... and he hadn't even bought anything he realized. Oops, this was going to require him to make it up to her he realized with a bit of a groan. This was going to be one rough meal he thought to himself as he glanced over at Switch.
"It was nice to meet you and to find your little shop." He told her, checking his watch again before he started toward the door, pocketing the Fallen Wish to keep it safe from anyone that might want to steal it on his way to where he was meeting his girlfriend.
