The Great Ash War.
A battle between the original Gotei Thirteen and the Time Rouges. The Time Rouges, banished officers from Soul Society led by former Royal Gaurd member Kushina Tsukada [original Squad Two Captain] who managed to capture some essence from the Soul King.
The Rouges aimed to destroy all dimensions and create a world where no one died, but lived on forever without the constraints of death. The Rouges used their mysterious time controlling abilities to open a trans-dimensional rip that would cause the various worlds to clash and create a giant time vortex thatdestroys all that enter.
The infiltration of Soul Society immediately began seven days after the Rouges announced themselves to the Gotei. All hell soon broke loose. The Seiretei was set into flames, the Human World looming over their heads daring to collide. Soul Society was turning to ash, time becoming the Reaper's enemy. The original Thirteen stood before the Rouges, ready to give their lives to protect the worlds. Several of their numbers eventually diminishes, leaving very few. The Captain-Commander, a man by the name of Kenshi Hatake, decided to make the noble sacrifice in order to save everyone. Using the forbidden technique, he used his body as a vessel to stop the vortex from completely opening. With the vortex closed, the Gotei's last officers were able to seal away the Rouges.
300 years after the Great Ash War, the second generation of the Gotei Thirteen is ledge by Kokoro, former Squad Eleven Captain from the original Thirteen. Under her leadership, the Soul Society has been repaired, divisions are stocked with new Reapers, and the danger has subsided. The Human World, unfortunately, was left in ruins with life scarely existing. Some say that the Gotei failed in their efforts to protect the Humans, but it was inevitable. The Rouges could control the humans easily.
Lately in Seiretei, rumors that the Rouges have returned as officers begin to vanish out of thin air. A new world, called Hueco Mundo, has been discovered. The World is the creation from the Ash War. It's surfaces covered entirely with white sand. The Soul Society now is investigating the mysterious world, hoping to find an answer for it's faction's disappearances.
Could the Rouges actually be free once again?
300 years later, Captain-Commander Kokoro ni Tennyou has taken control of the Gotei Thirteen. Under her watch and command the Seiretei has been rebuilt, the main militan forces have been restored, and the world is prospering.
