(I know, I know, shoot me for the title XD;; )  The world felt fresh and clean after the rain, the leaves and ground were still pleasantly moist, glistening as the sun started to peek out through the thinning clouds, the lights reflecting on the lingering water, warming the air once again. A uniquely colored Veporeon stood outside, her head turned to the sky as she watched the last of the droplets drizzle out, the clouds blown along to reveal a magnificent blue sky. Shaking herself out when she felt the warmth of the sun start to build on her skin, causing whatever lingering droplet’s and mist off of her body, before she turned her golden eyes onto a travelers shelter house standing with the trees just behind her. “Va Va! Vaporeon!” she called out to it, waiting for a moment until the door opened, and a blond head poked out, bright blue eyes blinking. “Oh~ it stopped raining” the sixteen year old girl smiled when she saw the sunlight, Opening the door a little more to step outside, spreading her arms and stretching as she smiled joyfully. “it smells so nice!” Kneeling down when Vahy’n walked over to her, fondly petting her pokemon partner “I bet you really liked the rain, “ Vahy’n made a soft coo and licked Rosie’s cheek, causing the young girl to giggle. “Alright, well, let’s go on, I’ll get my stuff!” With what seemed bottomless energy, Rosie was back on her feet, hurrying back into the building, while Vahy’n waited outside. The blue striped pokemon took her time and walking back down to the grass to sit. Though from inside there was a gasp, causing Vahy’n to look sharply over her shoulder. “Oh no Vahy’n!” Rosie exclaimed as she stepped out of the house again, holding her back and rummaging through it “we’re running low on berries!”

Mau was walking steadily out of Sandlewood, deeper into the forest. He felt a slight hatred for the people of that town. They always seemed so narrow minded when it came to technology, but... he couldn't argue with the earth lore they knew. Anything he could gather from them helped in his research into the longevity of berries and understanding why they died on-bush, but when picked could last months without preservatives. Of course, this was not something funded by Team Rocket. It was just a side project he was working on in his own time.
He looked around the forest, listening to the sounds of the pokemon, and turned left, knowing that if he listened carefully, he would be lead to a berry plant in bloom.
Sure enough, he soon startled a flock of pidgy away from some bushes of cheri berries. He touched the pokeball in his coat pocket and soon called out Aki, his vaporeon. The blue-eyed pokemon looked at his trainer with an eager expression.
"Picking berries, Aki." Mau told him. "And gathering leaves, sap, and bark samples." The vaporeon understood. Now was work time. After work time, Mau always gave some tasty treats. Yay work time! After Mau set up some sample dishes, the pair got to work, taking samples from each of the plants, labeling it with the date, location, and bush type, and then began harvesting the berries.

“There has to be berries around here somewhere”
Rosie skipped happily through the forest, up to each bush that she would spend a moment peering into before prancing over to the next one.
Vahy’n moving quickly to keep up with her, staying close, but searching the aria for berry bushes as well.
“AH!” Rosie suddenly exclaimed, pointing up to a Tree where she saw what looked like large round nuts, and they were PINK!
“Look Vahy’n! I think I found some. What are those?”
Tilting her head curiously and reaching in her bag to find her pokedex for information.
If Vahy’n could talk she would have told her young mistress that those were Apricorns , and not berries.
But the Veporeon let Rosie search for her pokedex, sniffing the air lightly when she caught the scent of some berries, trotting off through some bushes where she found just what she was looking for
“Va~”

Aki's ear twitched and he looked up from the samples he had gathered and was staring into the trees. "Vaporeon..." Aki took a few steps towards the trees where he heard another pokemon.
"Aki?" Mau looked up, closing a sample dish tightly. "What's going on?" He moved a little closer, looking into the trees, but didn't see anything.

at the same time Vahy's fins perked, her head lifting up sharply, one of the berries in her mouth.
from behind her she could hear Rosie exclaim excitedly.
"An Apricorn!"
but the water eon kept her gaze out toward the forest, hearing something approaching.

Aki took another cautious step when he and his trainer both heard the excited exclamation. Mau looked at Aki and just laughed. "You're on edge because of a trainer? Or is it because they're picking berries?" Mau packed up his samples and walked over to his vaporeon, gently patting it's head as he looked through the bushes, spotting a rather strikingly marked Vaporeon. "Well hello there, aren't you a pretty one." Mau said to the pokemon. "Aki, you should be nicer to another trainer's pokemon."
Aki's blue orbs rolled in exasperation at his human. "Va..."
"You wandering off from your trainer?" Mau had a particular soft spot for vaporeons because of Aki, and how close they'd always been. Right now, his demeanor, his dress, nothing about him seemed like the Team Rocket member he really was. He seemed like an old guy studying plants.

Dipping her head a little, large golden eyes blinking at the other Vaporeon when he came into view, not acting threatened, though she was watchful, especially when the other pokemon’s trainer came over, the man was older, an adult trainer. From what she could see and smell he looked and seemed alright, but that didn’t mean she would lower her guard, she had a younger trainer to look after.
one that still seemed to be talking excitedly, and then started calling for her Veporeon.
“Vahy’n? Where did you go? I need your help” Rosie called when she noticed her pokemon was not behind her anymore. Shaking locks of curling blond hair away from her eyes, letting her bag slip off her shoulders, glancing around the bushes curiously for where her pokemon might be.
Vahy’n turned to glance over her shoulder, dropping the berry she had and barking out a “Va” to alert her Trainer as to where she was.
Then turned her eyes back to the man and his Vaporeon.
Rosie stepped around the bushes, tilting her head softly when she found the blue striped pokemon by a berry bush “ohh! You found-“ cutting herself off when she noticed another Veporeon beyond the bush, and then another man.
“Oh~” surprised, but straitening up with a bright smile “Hello! I didn’t know you were there.”

Mau and Aki both looked up at the sound of the voice. Mau smiled softly and stood straight. "Good morning, little lady." Mau said softly. "Beautiful vaporeon you have there."
Aki snorted. "Va."
"Oh hush Aki, you know you're my favorite." He laughed. Aki sat down, curling his tail around his paws, eyeing the other vaporeon and her trainer. "Good day for berry hunting, isn't it? Did I hear you shout you'd found apricorns?"

giggling softly when she was greeted, she swung her arms slightly to fold her hands behind her back, bowing slightly to him.
"Good morning mister" was her polite, but happy greeting.
"thank you~ her name is Vahy'n." she smiled and leaned forward a little to look at Aki
"you have a Vaporeon to!" she noticed with excitement "Aki? is that your name?" she asked the other pokemon.
When the man asked her if she was berry hunting she nodded, smileing when he mentioned the Apricorns. "I did! they're pink, there are a few up in the tree, if you wanted some?"

"Vapoooo!" Aki replied, happy to be the center of attention, even if only for a moment. Mau plopped his hand down on Aki's head.
"Yes, this little attention monger is Aki." He hesitated a moment then offered his name as well. "I'm Mau. It's lovely to meet a fellow berry hunter, miss..." He trailed off a moment. "Ah, no. I'm not interested in apricorns. My research is on berries. But thank you for offering. You should take the apricorns. I hear there are people who will still make them into pokeballs for trainers. That is, assuming you're a trainer." Aki rolled his blue eyes up to look at Mau.

Smiling sweetly at the over Vaporeon, looking down at Vahy’n when she stepped up next to her, and sat down as well.
“Rosie!” she introduced herself when politely prompted “Rosie Ewell. It’s very nice to meet you Mr. Mau”
glancing back over to the Apricorn tree, eyebrows raised in interested when he said what they could be used for.
“Oh really? I didn’t know that. I’ll have to find someone who can make someone who can make one for me.” Nodding at his last question “yup! I just started with Vahy’n, it’s been a lot of fun, but hard work sometimes”

"It's a pleasure, Rosie." Mau said softly. He looked at Aki who seemed very interested in playing with Rosie and this other Vaporeon, Vahy'n. Aki had stood again and was sniffing the air a little, taking little half steps closer to the pair as if nervous about playing with them. Mau watched with a half smile.
"So you're a new trainer?" Mau asked with apparent surprise. She looked a little old to be just starting. After all, didn't most trainers set out when they were 10? This girl had to be at least 14. "Well, I hear that making balls from Apricorns is a dying art, and very few people do it anymore. You might check in the older cities for people who can, or anyone who knows anything about it. Maybe you could learn how to do it yourself." He offered off hand.

"yup, brand new. only been at it for a couple of months. following in my sisters footsteps" she added, her smile brightening happily at the mention of her sister.
"thank you for the advice! I'll make sure to ask and see if I can't find someone. I think learning to do it myself would be fun to! I'll ask my teaching" she added with a confident nod.
Looking down at Aki when he stepped closer, Rosie crouched down and held her hand out to the other Vaporeon.
"Aki~ hello" she greeted happily.
Vahy'n noted the other Vaporeon's hesitance, sitting next to Rosie, with an elegant posture, yellows eyes peering calmly back at him.
She made no indication that she was displeased with him, or that she was in anyway territorial. if anything she was curious herself.
"how long have you been a trainer sir?" she asked him "a long time I bet! you must be really good"

Not being told no, Aki bumped his nose to Rosie's hand, sniffing all over, even giving her palm a couple licks before looking at Vahy'n and sniffing at her curiously. His actions were not unlike a cat, sniffing something new as he would get his nose close enough to touch her, then jerk back as if expecting her to move suddenly.
"Hm... I haven't been a trainer for years really. I gave it up in the name of science. It's more fulfilling to me then battling. But I've been with Aki for 28 years or so." He watched as Aki sniffed again at Vahy'n then bounced back about half a foot, crouched down, wanting to play. Mau couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Aki what are you, a puppy?" He laughed.

Rosie giggled at the Vaporeon's attention, feeling his tounge tickle her palm a couple of times. She reached out to pet his head, and touch his fins, before watching him go over to say hello to Vahy'n. the female Vaporeon blinking at Aki with wide eyes, not moving from where she was sitting as she watched him bound around.
"you can play Vahy'n" Rosie said with a smile to her pokemon, then looked back up to Mau.
"thats a long time to have a pokemon, I hope Vahy'n and I get to be together for a long time, I've known her all my life already"
standing back up, brushing out her skirt and folding her hands behind her.
"what Science do you do?"
