Okay, a friend of mine just turned 18 a week ago... And back months before that she told me that she hasn't had a period. She's never started one.

Now I know this is not normal... But do you think she could ever get it? And if not, that means she'd be infertile right? What's the latest age you could have a period? I really hope she gets one because she'd be a great mom one day..

Most girls get their period between the ages of 10 and 16. If a girl does not have a period by the time she is 16, she needs to see a doctor to make sure everything looks ok.

That's because a total absence of periods can be caused by some fairly serious things like deformities and tumors. That means infertility would be a possibility.

But stress can also keep a girl from having a period!

So we have no way of knowing whether your friend will get a period or will have fertility problems in the future. She needs to schedule a doctor's appointment to find out what's going on with her body as soon as possible.

In the meantime, she needs to be using protection if she is sexually active just in case she is fertile or will soon become fertile.

Alright that's good to know, I might mention it to her but it is a touchy topic to bring up for her so I don't know.
