Some days you just needed to get away from -everything-, and from almost everyone you knew. Days when she wanted to do that, Ume liked to go to the mall, the masses of people helped her feel more 'secret' even wearing her normal choice of civilian attire.
Today was perhaps lighter 'lolita' than normal consisting of an off the shoulder black long sleeved shirt, an under bust corset and a skirt that would almost be short enough to compete with her Senshi attire. It was partly her work and partly her sisters.

She bought a cup of soft pretzel bits and a frozen lemonade and sat down on one of the benches at the heart of one of the malls intersections so that she could watch the people go by.

Andrea walked slowly down the hall at the shopping mall, with a shopping bag proudly emblazoned with the logo of the comic book store dangling from his fingers. Ordinarily he loved shopping, especially for comics, but after his run-in with the strange and vicious dog the night before, and the resulting hospital treatment, the sophomore was not feeling his best, and it showed.

He had avoided stitches on his face, thankfully, since the claw cuts down his cheek were not quite deep enough, but he still had an array of bandages to hold the wounds closed; somewhere between the adhesive strips and the swelling from the wounds themselves, one of his eyes looked a bit puffy, if not likely to swell shut completely. His left arm was similarly wounded, and wrapped up for the moment, while his right had gotten away with a handful of bandaids. By the tired look on his face, though, the boy looked to be more than a little spaced out on painkillers.

Another younger boy walked beside him, much more energetic in his movements and similarly toting a bag of comics as he chattered away to his elder brother. Something about a school dance, and a really pretty girl, or qualities of really pretty girls.... He looked to be about twelve years old, and Andrea just sort of blankly nodded occasionally; this reaction appeared only to spur on his excitement.

They passed through one of the intersections of wide hallways where there were a bunch of benches, and Lucas led Andrea to one of them to rest for a moment. Nearby was a girl in full-on gothic lolita attire and, though he did not actually point at her, the looks from Lucas and the way he was leaning closer to Andrea while he kept running his mouth would have made it obvious to most that he was more than likely talking about her.

Following his brother's attention on the girl with the finely-made, if tiny, skirt and matching goth garb, he nodded again to Lucas.

"Yeah, it would be cool if we could dress up like that at school, too, but I really don't see the problem with the uniforms. It's just for during class, right? We can where whatever any other time."

If the lolita girl caught him watching her back, Andrea would smile weakly with the half of his face he could painlessly move, and wave a little with his free hand.

Ume raised a hand to cover the laugh that rose when she saw them glancing at her and then raised a hand to wave back. She thought she recognized the other of them from her school at least and stood, brushing her skirt down to walk over and greet him.

No harm in it if she was already discovered by someone who found, at least her choice of clothing, interesting.

"Hi!" She said walking over. "I thought I recognized you from the school! Ume..." She said introducing herself and offering a hand. The toes of her button up boots tapped together as she rocked just a little on her heels with an oddly 'calm' and amused sort of energy.

The skirt wasn't -really- that much worse than the school uniforms either...not -really-. At least that's what she kept telling herself since she normally wore skirts that went down to her knees when outside of school.

The younger boy sat up straighter, blushing a little, and hurriedly introduced himself: "I'm Lucas, and this is my brother Andrea."

"Meadowview, then?" Andrea asked her, taking her outstretched hand since his brother seemed entirely unsure of what to do about it. Thinking about it, he figured he probably was at least a little distinctive with his dyed hair. He was hardly the only kid at school with some but not all of his locks bleached, but still, it was his way of sprucing up the uniform.

"Nice to meet you. I ah," he gestured to the dressings on his face and smiled lopsidedly. "Didn't go to school today."

At least the itchy sand had gone away when he had showered and changed his clothes that night, but he squirmed a bit anyway. Usually, Andrea was not so self-conscious; he could dance in any sort of costume in front of an audience without flinching, but he was clearly a little embarrassed about having his face bandaged.

"What year are you?" he then inquired, sounding about as tired as he looked.

"Junior" She answered with a smile. "And yes Meadowview, what happened of you don't mind if I ask? Oh!..." She added and then waved back towards the bench she'd departed.

"If you guys want to sit down, I'll never be able to finish these bits by myself." She offered a bit of soft pretzel to the both of them.

"I normally come here with my sister, I guess getting a large is habit."

"He got attacked by a dog," Lucas replied, frowning, then perked up a little as he added, "He'll be good, though. We got him comic books so he can just space out with some tylenol all weekend."

Andrea laughed softly and nodded. "Yeah, strange dog," he told her, having decided already that it would be best not to mention to anyone exactly what had happened. "But like Lucas said, I'll survive."

He scooted over where he sat and gestured to the rest of the bench. "I'm good where I am, if you want to join us on this bench?" he asked. "Oh, and no thank you," the sophomore added, glancing into the cup of pretzels and looking away as though the thought of food turned his stomach.

The younger boy raised his eyebrows and gingerly reached into the cup to snag a couple pretzels, then mumbled around them, "Thanks. I'll eat Andrea's, is that okay?"

The older boy swatted his brother's leg lightly. "Lucas," he scolded.

Then, giving the girl a sheepish smile, he asked her, "Does your sister go to Meadowview, too? Lucas dosn't yet. He's got a few more years."
