It had been a week since the Debutante ball, and while that had been a lovely way to introduce her to the youth of Destiny City, it was time to learn the streets as well. Of course, Adira knew the shopping district like the back of her hand, but she had little experience with the rest of the streets, particularly the lesser known shopping venues. There was a small sushi place that had glowing reviews that she was attempting to find, but she kept getting sidetracked by other interesting looking stores.

Her heels clicked against the sidewalk decisively, almost if she had been born walking in them. She was dressed just as decisively, in a chic high-waisted pencil skirt and button down top. However, it seems she had taken a wrong turn somewhere, landing it precisely in the part of town that she did not want to be in. Turning around, she started to head back to the main stretch of streets where she had come from, still in search of her sushi restaurant. Adira Perses did NOT like the looks that certain people were giving her, even though she knew she could handle herself better than most. Her mother had insisted on self-defense courses when Adira was persistent on attending Sovereign Heights.

Finally making it back to the main stretch of shops, the girl rounded the corner quickly, without looking, eyes still peeled for the missing 'Wasabi Shop'. It was a fairly slow day; most students were in class still. Which was perfectly fine by her, seeing as she didn't like waiting in line for things.

A familiar face. A familiar uniform. Adira didn't notice such things, but the older male had done so. Even if one was capable of defending themselves, the girl had been well-advised to leave that area quickly. The people and events there were better left there, Destiny City having it's share of shady peoplpe who wouldn't adverse to doing a great deal of things.

"Lost?" A voice materialized behind the Sovereign Heights student, leaning against the wall of the corner that she had exited. One hand had a school bag slung over his shoulder, telling the girl that he had come from school. Of course, Seth was dressed in his school uniform that seemed to be perpetually undone. He had already finished his classes for the day, and had been heading home. It wasn't that he meant to meet with Adira, but he had caught sight of her while she had wandered. From what the older male had seen, the girl was going in and out of stores - she had a purpose which was continuously sidetracked along the way.

It had almost been amusing to watch, and Seth didn't hesitate to comment, "It'll be night before you reach to wherever you're headed off to." If she continued on her way, that was.

Her heart went up into her throat a bit at the word 'Lost?' being asked behind her. She didn't show it in her face, but her posture went a little rigid. She turned slowly, only to be face with Seth Eintetta. Her rigid posture turned very quickly into a beaming smile. "Seth!" The greeting was less formal on purpose, Adira knew that the boy didn't particularly like formalities.

"I know, I know." She sighed, and shrugged. "This sushi place just keeps avoiding me!" It was like the Howl's moving castle of sushi places. Adira would catch a familiar scent in the air- seaweed, raw tuna... and then it would be gone. "I don't suppose you know where the Wasabi Shop is?" There was a chance that he knew. And if he didn't? Well then, she'd just ask for his help in finding it. And after either of those options, Adira would insist that he ate a late lunch with her.

Today was shaping up to be a good day already. It had been a long while since the girl had actually spent time with Seth. She'd seen him at Jada's ball, of course, but Seth hadn't been active in social circles for a good long time before that.

Adira was a good friend, if Seth had to describe her. She wasn't one of those flighty girls, whose minds were occupied with money, make-up, shopping, and boys all day. And that alone had treat Adira more like a friend then the distantness he had treated others. So they had maintained a sort of friendship, or at least, friendliness between the two. He looked vaguely amused to hear the blame being put on a sushi shop, rather than Adira's penchance to get easily distracted and wandering off to some store or other. "I'm sure."

Seth appeared to contemplate the store, 'Wasabi Shop.' It didn't look as if he knew where that way... but..

He surveyed the surrounding area and stores around them, before pulling on the back of Adira's collar. "Wrong way." They walked in the opposite direction, taking several corners and a back alley route. It wasn't until they reached a brightly lit area lined with comfortably aged walls, and quaint stores that they stopped.

They stepped into a store, Seth parting the bamboo shades. He had to duck underneath the doorway, but someone of Adira's size would find it easily to walk through. "This store?" It was small, with only two tables and a area lining up against the wall with chairs resembling bar stools to accompany. And it was clean, a hint of lemon soap floating around in the air. In the front, there was a glass case, showing a sample of all the sushi items that they offered. It was a very comfortable air, not one of those high and mighty places that looked down upon you.

"Yo." He waved to the male at the cashier, betraying a previous acquaintance with the sushi store. "An old couple runs the store here. It's cheap and good." So basically, Adira had made a good choice.

Adira beamed up at the boy next to her while he looked contemplative. In the mean time, she'd already started walking towards a window display with the most interesting looking-

A sharp tug on the collar of her jacket had the girl spinning around immediately. She laughed, it was light and it ended it a smile. So it appeared that Seth was still much the same person that he had been when they were younger. Very, to the point. It was a bluntness and honesty that Adira admired most. You didn't find those two things in high society very often, she was envious of his ability to shrug things off.

The walk to where ever Seth was leading her was fairly quiet, but comfortable. She was certainly glad of his presence- based on the number of turns they had taken the shopaholic had been way off base. "I would have never, ever found this without you." Actually, there was a good chance that she'd already walked right past it without noticing (a couple of shops down the way looked familiar).

And, he even had been there before. "You are indeed a life saver, Mr. Eintetta. I insist, you must have dinner with me! On me, of course." She smiled, her tone was carefree. The girl stepped up to the glass case, looking over at all of the different choices. It had been a while since she'd had sushi, probably on her last trip to Japan. "Any suggestions?"

"I'll eat with you." Seth pulled up a chair at one of the tables, holding up two fingers to indicate the number of people eating. In turn, a young woman emerged and placed two napkins, plates, sauce dishes, glasses of water for the both of them. It appeared that service didn't suffer despite their small size and staff.

"The Sushi Special." The girl nodded and noted it, while an elderly but kind looking man stood by the cashier. He was waiting for when Adira would place her order, but he came off rather patient. Something like cool water on a hot day?

When Adira asked for help, he glanced at the menu from his seat. Adira would like the food here. The sushi here was made by hand and fresh ingredients, rather then the prepackaged stuff that you found in brand name sushi stores Then, he shifted his gaze to Adira, considering the young woman's tastes.

"The hand roll combo."

"Or the rainbow roll."

The first option had a variety that Adira might like a majority of it. The latter leaned a bit more towards the sweet side than spicy or bland. That was what Adira preferred, from what Seth could recall. "But everything is good here." This was a high compliment, and a high recommendation between two people who were used to eating at high-end restaurants.

She looked at both of the options that Seth presented. They both looked delicious! "I'll have the Rainbow Roll, please!" The server smiled as she made a little note on the notepad. Adira took a sip of water before looking over at Seth.

"So, Seth. What have you been up to lately?" She figured school was part of it, though she wasn't sure what school he went to. Other than that, she really had no idea. Adira was also nosy and wondered if Seth was seeing the girl that he had escorted- Eve something. Not that it really mattered, it was just nice to know things.

But those kinds of questions could wait, if they were asked at all. Right now, she was content to sit in the little restaurant with a long lost friend and eat some (hopefully) delicious sushi.

"School. Some things here and there." While some people considered the latter answer as nothing notable happening to tell people of, his recent encounter with Eve and going to Jada's debuante would have probably never been known if Adira hadn't been there to witness it. So his latter answer could have meant a multitude of things.

"I live by myself now." Last time he had seen Adira - or most of the social circle, all of them had (probably) living under their parents. So it might have come off as a bit of a surprise. Or not, considering the rumors in their circle that he had left behind. "What about you? I thought you would have been sent off to study abroad by now." Destiny City was fine, but it didn't have much to offer after high school. And Adira's mother didn't seem like the type to have Adira stay in Destiny City.

It appeared that they had a great deal to catch up on, later. For now, there was a momentary pause as their food arrived on a square wood platter, and chopsticks. The girl gave a smile as she laid out their utensils, and left with "If you need anything, please let me know!"

The quality would be just as good as what Adira found in Japan, if not better. And Seth broke apart his chopsticks, and began to eat. Even though his reputation had deteriorated, it appeared that he hadn't lost much of his manners, handling the chopsticks with practiced gestures.

"Sounds like we've been doing a lot of the same things. I just bought a loft for myself a few weeks ago, in order to start attending Sovereign Heights." She sighed at the mention of studying abroad. It would happen, she was sure. Perhaps for her Masters. "Well, if my mother had any say in it I would be in Sweden right now, in the best finishing school that money could buy."

Thankfully, Adira was not in Sweden. She didn't particularly like the country anyways. It had its niceties, but she would prefer not to live there. Also thankfully, the food decided to arrive.

"This looks amazing." She could feel her stomach rumble silently in anticipation. Adira too, wielded her chopsticks with ease. It was one of the first things she had learned to do properly in Japan, at her Fathers insistence. Picking up one of the tuna covered rolls, Adira dipped it in a bit of the sauce they had supplied before popping it in her mouth. The smile on her face said it all. The sushi was absolutely delicious. The girl made a small noise of pleasure in the back of her throat, looking up at Seth. "You have excellent suggestions Seth."

Seth didn't miss her sigh, but he didn't comment. She had a hard road in front of her, that was for sure. 'Swedun, huh.'

Seth didn't glance up from his food, but he did respond. "I'm glad." He picked up another piece of sushi, and chewed on it. There was relative silence between the two, merely enjoying their sushi. It wasn't until that they finished, Seth taking a large gulp of water to wash it all down - that he seemed recipient with talking once more.

"How is Sovereign Heights?" His elbow rested on the table, leaning the side on his face on his palm. Sovereign Heights had been one of his choices for school, but in the end, it didn't happen.

All of the sushi had been just as good as the first roll. This was certainly a place that Adira was going to remember, and frequent. It wasn't very far from her apartment, and now that she actually knew the physical location of it, it wouldn't be too hard to find without help.

Adira sat back in her chair, dabbing at her lips to make sure no sushi remnants remained. She had to smile a bit at his elbow on the table however. It was that kind of thing that earned you a smack on the hand when you were little.

"Its been alright so far." She took a sip of water before continuing. "Though, I'm only enrolled in one class since its the only one they offered for a half semester. I was in England too long for me to actually catch the beginning of the semester. I'll be taking a full class load after the summer though." It wasn't too bad, actually. Easing into the world of having classes taught by someone you didn't know, someone who didn't know you. It was a little bit of a shock coming from the world of private tutors.

"And how is school for you? Have you chosen a major yet? Certainly is an interesting uniform- much classier than any I've seen in Destiny City thus far." She liked it. And having it all undone like that seemed to suit Seth's style just fine. Adira was interested to hear what Seth wanted to do with his life.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 27, 2010 9:32 pm

Adira was as ladylike as always.

"Something to do with computers, I'm sure. Computer Science?" Although it was phrased more like a question, the male had already decided his future. Unlike others who twiddled their thumbs and took general courses to fill out their quota before deciding, the male had decided by the time that he had entered college. Besides. Computers were easier to handle then people, and a lot more predictable. "You deal with less." People being the unspoken word.

The reference to his uniform had him saying "Hm?" He then glanced at the sleeve of his own uniform, "It does its job. Keeps me warm in winter." It figured that Seth would like it for it's practical use rather than its appearance. But then again, he wasn't likely to wear something that made him look like an idiot. He didn't mention how the casualness of his uniform was constantly reprimanded, but trying to change Seth to formality was like trying to ask a goldfish to walk. It just didn't happen.

"How about you?" Business? Adira seemed like the type of person to go into something concrete.

Computer science seemed to fit the man in front of her. It was very straightforward, but there was a certain degree of 'relaxed' about it that seemed straight up Seth's alley. "Computer Science sounds like a good fit for you." Adira couldn't imagine Seth at a customer service job. She'd never seen it herself, but she'd heard rumors of his temper.

Scratch that, she could see unruly customers getting unpleasantly hot things thrown in their face without much warning. At least, if the stories of his outbursts were true. Seth had left quite a few rumors in his wake when he'd stopped appearing at social functions. Adira knew better than to believe most of them (the most outlandish was the claim that he'd gotten Sophie Esterson pregnant. THAT was laughable), but the temper problems seemed to fit him more.

"Well, I'm certainly glad that your uniform is warmer than mine then." She gave an amused smirk as she sipped some of her water.

At his conjecture, she nodded. "Yes, Business, but also Pre-Law. Going to Sovereign Heights for a year in order to have a more favorable chance at a slot in the law program at DCU." Unlike many other wealthy children, she didn't want to have a brand new wing named after her family in order to gain admittance. Adira would rather work for it.

Seth had a low tolerance. He didn't take bullshit, and he returned it with an appropriate response. Some of which involved dragging them into a dark alley and... that was illegal, wasn't it?

None of those rumors were true. Especially when Sophie Esterson was a manipulating female, who had thrice tried to ensnare rich sons, and failed miserably each and every time. Wait, there was probably a rumor or two that once you sifted them, it was possible. Like the one where rich Hank Garoul that had gotten hospitalized for a week. Hank had thought it hilarious to 'trip' to then spill wine all over Seth, and pass it off as clumsy. He hadn't been such a pretty boy after. Of course, nobody had asked, and Seth didn't answer.

At her smirk, he stated a very simple fact that could have accounted for exactly why females were cold. "We don't wear skirts."

And business and law suited Adira. He was reminded of why he was friends with Adira once more, for earning her way into life rather then bribing it. There was nobody that he respected less then those type of kids. "You'll do well." He offered one of his rare compliments, not bothering with the typical 'good luck.' If Adira wanted to get into business and law, luck would have nothing to do with it, than skill and hard work.

But there was one more thing, if he remembered correctly. "Isn't your father a business man as well?" His gray eyes bored into hers, he wasn't planning to pry into why. It was just a simple question.

If Adira had known that she was correct Seth's temper, she might have raised an eyebrow at him. She might have actually looked at him in a whole new way. But for now, this was the same man that she grew up with (sort of), and certainly liked.

"Some men wear skirts." The girl had a great mental image of Seth sulking in a Kilt. It was amusing enough to pull at the corners of her mouth; a restrained smile. He probably wouldn't be too terribly pleased at her imaginings.

The compliment, or at least Seth's spark-noted version turned her restrained smile into a beaming one. It wasn't very hard to make the dark haired girl smile. At his inquiries, she nodded. "Yes. He's a joint CEO in charge of international affairs." It explained her trip to England recently, as well as many of her other trips too. She matched his stare with her own silver-blue eyes, proud of her Father's accomplishments.
