1. Only those invited may post. See the next post for who I have invited.
2. Please post only in character. Out of character comments may be made to me via PMs. Likewise, if you would like to drop off gifts or notes in a PM and allow me to post at my leisure, I very much encourage that.
3. If there is any way for you to approach me for RP in a different thread, or in AIM, or through some other medium, please do so. I far prefer for my diary to have posts of consolidated roleplays, rather than a post-by-post account as we go back and forth. You are, of course, more than welcome to use The Menagerie to do this.
4. If we roleplayed a scene and I have edited it to post in my diary, you are always welcome to copy and paste the portion you participated in to your own diary, rather than being forced to edit it yourself.
5. The only people welcome to post in this diary, humans and non-humans alike, are people I expect or hope Makana to regularly interact with. If you are not on this list, it is not a personal slight against you. It is merely that Makana either does not know you or does not expect to regularly interact with you. All invitations have roleplay somewhere backing them up. If you believe you should be a part of this list, contact me via PMs to discuss.
6. Please do not be afraid to poke me and say hello or ask for RP. I generally welcome it.

Personality: Trio is usually cheerful and exciteable, and adores opening her home to new friends. She does have her darker moments, though she generally prefers to have them in private, disliking showing such things to others. Trio depends on the others in her household to help her out, and most of them do. Many of her companions look out for each other, although the occasional disagreements have sometimes resulted in rather strong tension.
Notes: She has many Gaians she cares for, but few ever penetrate far enough into her defenses to be truly and fully trusted. Even her closest friends do not know the full story of her past, and none have met her family, though it's obvious that she adores her fathers.

Distinguishing Marks: A scar that starts on his left cheek and goes across the bridge of his nose and his right eye and ends at his right temple.
Other: Shiromaru is a water demon, and sports horns and (sometimes) wings.
Personality: Formerly rather quiet, depressed and reserved, Shiro has recently discovered a wonderful reason to let out the effervescent, warm, outgoing personality he'd kept locked within. He loves people, loves music and loves the water.
History: Even Shiro himself doesn't quite know his full history, where he was born, or even his real name or who his parents were. Somewhere between the age of twenty-five and fifty, he lost his memory in an accident, and woke up in a flat, black land. He was found when he was still confused and frightened and taken to the demon realm, where he lived for fifty years. He escaped there and fled when he could to Gaia, where he has lived for the past century.

Personality: Etain is shy and quiet, but a happy child. She likes following her big sister Annora around, letting Annora lead the way and choose the games. With Annora at her side, Etain is usually not afraid to speak up or suggest things.
Notes: Etain's a very creative soul, and while she follows Annora around, at the same time she seems to have a lot of ideas that Annora never considers, and she's got a way of suggesting them that doesn't make Annora feel as though she's competing.

Personality: Annora seems to be a touch on the 'diva' side - bright and charming but definitely trying for center of attention as much as she can manage. Her favorite person to be around is Etain, who not only doesn't compete for attention but also lets Annora lead their activities and seems happy to be Annora's audience.
Notes: Something or someone has put the bug in Annora's ear that she ought to become an opera singer. The little girl has taken the idea to heart, and is working hard toward that goal.

Personality: Nico's still a baby, and as such, while he has a definite personality, it seems mostly geared toward demanding food and changing.
Notes: Nico seems to have become the apple of Makana's eye. She adores him, and spends as much time as she can helping Shiro and Trio with him.

Personality: Kikuei is quiet and wary, and though he's grown a lot closer to Trio, he's still wary of losing another guardian the way he lost euphoric. He tends to be a bright, energetic soul when he's not being overly cautious.
Notes: Kikuei has caught the attention of Niyati, god of the past, and she's responded by ensuring that he grows much more slowly than normal. Although his mind is that of a teenager, his body is still that of a child.

    These plushie Nimue were given to Makana by Gullien. They represent each of the four elements of the nimue (top left to right: Air, Earth; bottom left to right: Fire, Water) and Makana seems to have taken a particular shine to Earth and Water. She has no name for Earth yet, but Water has apparently been named 'Nora'.  Tamtun got this wonderful little book for Makana. One reading, and she was hooked. Trio picked up these two toys for Makana because they seemed to intrigue her. Trio also got some toiletries for Makana, with Makana's help picking them out! Makana's bed is well-decorated with these three pillows and this blanket... though she drags them off any chance she gets in favor of sleeping curled in a nest on the floor. Makana's special "reading lamp". She adores curling up under it with a couple of books and her nest of blankets and pillows. A little charm Trio picked up at the Invisible Couch. She was going to use it as a decoration on Makana's wall, but the little girl has declared it treasure, and takes it with her everywhere. Trio went on a blank book spree recently, and Makana seemed to take quite a shine to this one. So it's become hers, and when she's able to write her own journal entries, it will be her journal... unless a better one comes along. Trio hung this little Japanese windchime in Makana's window, to add a slight bit of music to the place. The little catgirl seems to more or less ignore it, though.  Trio picked up this specially-made journal hand-crafted by Thabara. Its design is an African pattern, based on present-day patterns near where Abyssinia used to be.  Trio picked up this charm bracelet for Makana at The Invisible Couch. The charms are: Ankh - Symbol of Life Ladybug - Symbol of Good Luck Lotus - Symbol of Sun, Creation, Rebirth Moon - Symbol of Night Crucifix - Symbol of Christianity  A dreamcatcher, to keep the kitten's dreams sweet. Trio hung it directly over her pillow.  A jar of dirt seems like such a strange gift for a little girl, but Trio knows that it will be a bit of emergency earth for Mouse should it be needed.

o/~The cat wanted in to the warm warm house,
but no one would let the cat in.
It was cold outside on Christmas Eve,
she meowed and meowed by the door.
She was not let in to the warm warm house,
and her tiny cries were ignored.
Twas a blizzard now, the worst of the year,
there was no place for her to hide.
Just then a poor little mouse crept by,
he had lost his way in the snow.
He was on his last leg and was almost froze,
the cat lifted him with her paws.
She said poor mouse do not be afraid,
because this is Christmas Eve.
On this freezing night, we both need a friend.
I wont hurt you, stay by my side.
She dug a small hole in an icy drift,
this is where they would spend the night.
She curled herself round her helpless friend
Protecting him from the cold.
When Santa came by near the end of the night,
the Reindeer started to cry...
they found the cat lying there in the snow,
and they could see that she had died.
They lifted her up from the cold cold ground,
and placed her into the sleigh
It was then they saw the little mouse wrapped up,
she'd kept him warm in her fur.
"Oh thank you Santa for finding us,
Dear cat wake up we are saved."
I'm sorry, mouse, but your friend has died
There's nothing more we can do.
On Christmas Eve she gave you her life
The greatest gift of them all
Santa Lifted her up into the night sky
and laid her to rest among the stars.
Dear mouse don't cry you are not alone
you will see your friend every year.
Each Christmas a cat constellation will shine...
to remind us that her love's still here. o/~
