So, for me usernames and names in general stress me out. I need the perfect username to compliment my character or else I'll hate my character. Hearing that you need a first and last name for FFXIV made me quite nervous. However! I just finished compiling a nice big list of 23 first and last name combinations I can use for my character as backups. No more stress.
Anyways, have you figured out your username?
How do you feel about first and last names for the game?
I'm paranoid and refuse to share my names but if you'd like post what you think you might be, please share.
Will you make your name formal or funny? A Lalafell with the name "jail bait", anyone? xD

I too have been stressing since I heard you choose first and last names. I have a huge list of names and none of them really make my soul say "That's the one". I'm still searching for names and wish I could be settled like you are!

D: Hopefully, since FFXIV is a brand new game my top choice wont be taken. And if that means I rush to buy the game at Walmart at midnight, so be it! > w<

I have three first names lined up. Xikar being one of them.
Though I'm lost about my last name, if worse comes to worse I hope there will be a random name generator or something.

For my main character i'll most likely be using the same name im using right now. I use it for everything. I cant think of a good last name at all. nonething i can think of sounds right with lastel... sad

I was thinking Hachiko or Hachiko Pup. I'm not into japanese names but Hachiko is famous for being a loyal dog. & idk it describes me a lot.(It's also from Nana.)
Also, I enjoy oxymoron names. I'm going to be a catgirl named after a famous dog. Or "Shorty" the Galka. lol

I've made 3 different accounts now on ffxivcore (and a new email address to go with each), thinking I had figured out my user name, and each time I realize the name doesn't satisfy me. I'm sticking with TrutherMay for now... unless I can find something better.

I probably won't have my name sorted out until I enter it in the character creator, haha. I have idea's but right now I have nothing set in stone.
The name I'm most hopeful for would be Marius Romanus. I guess after that my secondary choice will be Saith Graves or Saith Romanus.
Personally though I gotta say I love the first and last name system. It inspires more creativity in people and makes it so we won't see names like xxcharacter10829081 and xAw3s0m3x69420. Names like that really took away from the experience if you ask me, and they look ugly. Haha.

I've seen alpha screenshots and some users have 3 names and a name as short as 2 characters. and I saw a name with a question mark so I assume you can use symbols and numbers too. Oh and one name can have at least 2 capital letters, from what I've seen.
EDIT: Those characters changed their .dat files. You can't have 3 names or question marks etc. And you probably can't have more than one capital letter at the beginning of the name.

I really hope they just didn't put any limitations on the alpha so they could just play.
Because really numbers/symbols/not letters break the illusion your in an alternate world. And it won't limit the number of names that can created, since you can have a given middle and surname.

My name isnt all that common, if I cant roll it on one server i'll roll it on another.
Just hope they wont use that hopeless world pass system again. I wanna play with my friends without a 3 day grind first.
