Starts: Now! Ends: June 19th, 8pm EDT
Rules, 'Shmools ► By entering into this roleplay contest, you agree to these rules. So you'd better read 'em up real well.
► You agree to roleplay these character(s) if you are the victor. If you do not actively roleplay your character(s) (at least once every three months) you take the risk of losing your character(s). If you go on a hiatus, just let me know, I don't bite. If you can't find anyone to roleplay with, poke me. I rarely say no.
► You will not whine, beg, cry, or talk smack about anyone. If we're old enough to play on the internet, we're old enough to be kind to one another. Yeah, I thought this was a dumb rule too.
► This contest may be extended if I need more entries. I don't want to pick from one, that's boring.
► Questions are posted in this thread. My Pm box is already a cesspool of fur and mud, I don't need it to start breeding bunnies.
► All entires are posted within this thread. Simple, no?
► I might add another rule later. I always forget one. Like no eating pickles in this thread. Ever.
EXTRAAAA EXTRAAAA: If you need to lightly familiarize yourself with the old Aka'mleli plot, please take a look at this thread, and this thread. I won't tl;dr the whole thing for you, but if you have questions, just ask. There are no set personalities for the birds; do as you wish with them! You also do not need to continue to sustain the stated/implied relationships within this thread. After returning to the pride, things change. If you want to keep it going, then gooo! I need a cookie. If you win, you are required to do a single post in a set rp that will count for your "joining" rp, so your new babies can be certed on our pretty Aka'mleli cert. Huzzah.

Tilifika ('be lost') - A juvenile when the earthquake seperated her from her home, Tilifika grew up outside of the society she loved (under the watchful eye of Sikivu, being youngest of the group), and as such worries how her return will be felt. She was softspoken as a cub, but she grew into a fiery, headstrong female. Tilifika doesn't take no for an answer, and she strives for lofty goals. Her wish is to really be something to remember. Also, being with Chewa wouldn't be so bad, either. She is paired to the male vulture Pisha ('guide').Applying for: Tilifika Player:
Prompt: Tilifika and Pisha have an argument; explain what it is about.

Sikivu ('attentive') - Sikivu was an adult when the earthquake struck. He found each lion one by one, gathering them together to survive as well as give hope that they would one day return to their homeland. While not old, Sikivu is of middle age. He is calm, assertive, and fatherly to those that were young when they were "lost". His mate died in the earthquake, and as such these young were a step in to help him cope with the loss. He is paired to the female hawk, Fatiisha ('be curious'). Applying for: Sikivu Player:
Prompt: Once a member of the guard, how would Sikivu react to the situation that the guard is in now? (there are very few left, Ngao is blind, ect).

Yamini ('solemn oath') - Yamini was an adult as well when she was separated from her home. The difference between Sikivu and Yamini is that her paired bird died in the earthquake. They had been residing just within the protections of the cave, and her small kite didn't survive the collapse. Sikivu found her soon after, bringing the lioness back to health from her injuries. Yamini became withdrawn, only depending on passing humor for Jahina to keep her hope alive. The fact that another avian has not come to bond with her worries the lioness. Had she offended Hestia in some way?Applying for: Yamini Player:
Prompt: With the fact that she is still without a second pairing, Yamini wonders if it is because she may be nearing the end of her life as well. How is she reacting to this morbid idea? (note: the lions do not worship the goddess Hestia, but the birds do)

Jahina ('bold') - An adolescent upon the time of the quake, Jahina never saw it as a hinderence in her life. It was merely the path to a new adventure. A pawful for all those involved with her, Jahina is similar to Tilifika in being headstrong, but she also doesn't think about the consequences of what she does, resulting in a lot of frustration in her direction. Jahina loves to perk spirits up, and she quite acts like a jester in some manner. She is paired to the female vulture Ngeu ('mark').Applying for: Jahina Player:
Prompt: After quite a scolding from the serious Chewa, Jahina wanders off to console herself. What does she do?

Chewa (greet the dawn) - As his namesake implies, Chewa is the first one up, and usually the last one to sleep. Though he was only an adolescent when separated from his family, he took on the role of being guardian, his younger body much more adaptable (and stronger once an adult) than the ex-guard Sikivu. Jahina would probably call him "boring stone-faced Chewy". He is serious about what he does, intent on returning home, and also driven to prove himself. To whom, no one exactly knows. He is paired to the male hawk Mvua ('rain'). Applying for: Chewa Player:
Prompt: Finally, you see the end of the road. You and your group are nearing the Aka'mleli lands. What is Chewa thinking, now that his goal is in sight?

I have a question. Are we allowed to try for more than one character, if we feel we can handle RPing more than one? Or would you prefer we restrict ourselves to only one entry for only one character? Because I will probably write up at least three if they aren't restricted.

You can try for one or all, or anything in between, but you can only win one of them. Or, well, one pair, excluding Yamini. smile
