It had been a long day in the labs, and while the work was pleasurable, today had been rather tedious. Now, in the mid afternoon, Vironica sat in the cafeteria by herself, sipping hot tea from a up and reading a fictional novel. The people around her buzzed noisily, but she blocked it out, finding the solid drone of indistinguishable chatter rather relaxing.
As she took another sip of tea, she inhaled the warm steam with a smile on her face, then set the cup down and adjusted her glasses before turning a page of her book.

Lilith walked about the crowded cafeteria with a sort of disconcerted air. She had only recently been inducted as a Grunt in Team Rocket and, even more recently, gotten her first Pokemon. She wanted to please, but the demanding tasks that were commanded of her were so menial that she wondered if joining a crime organization was worth it. With a frown, the woman reminded herself of why she was here: she must show the world the true power of Pokemon, and Team Rocket was the best way to get her message out.
The young woman dodged the ever bustling crowd and attempted to keep her cup of coffee from spilling when she saw an empty seat by a woman in a lab coat, sitting at a table with a book and some tea. Rather relieved that she found someone who wasn't as uptight as the Elites, Lilith sat down beside the woman. "Do you mind if I join you?"

Vironica held up a finger, finishing the last sentence of her chapter, then closed the book with a finger marking her page and looked up at Lilith. Her face broke into a kind smile and she nodded. "Please, feel free to. There's plenty of room here." She gestured to the table, not minding for there to be company.
"Oh, pardon for the rudeness. My name is Vironica. What would yours be?" She brushed some of her hair out of her face, hooking the long strands over her ear.

Lilith drew a sigh a of relief. At least this woman seemed reasonable. The corner of her lip turned up in a semi-smile and she turned her glassy eyes to the woman. "Vironica, is it? My name is Lilith." Lilith took a small sip from her still hot coffee and sighed a little. "I've seen a few agents who have code-names here, but I really don't think it matters. If anyone tried to get my information..." The woman chuckled slightly to herself. "I would take care of it."
The woman took another sip of her coffee. "I must say though, having to be in Team Rocket is much more difficult than I had imagined. Of course, I knew it was never going to be a cakewalk, but one has to do so much just to move up in rank!" Lilith looked to Vironica. "If you don't mind my asking, what is your rank? I have not seen you around before."

Vironica listened earnestly to Lilith, taking slow sips of her tea. "I see, it's nice to meet you Lilith." She also found it interesting that some of the agents used code names, but she knew that it was for their safety in the field; something she normally didn't partake in. Therefor, she really didn't have a used for a code name.
Ripping up a small piece of her napkin, she placed it in her spot in the book, setting the novel down on the table and turning her attention back to the other grunt. "I'm a grunt as well, however, my time is spent mostly in the labs. I work in the biological and genetics field here." She also worked quite a bit in the cloning, but she chose to opt it out, figuring that it fell under 'genetics field'.

Lilith raised her eyebrows slightly at Vironica. So she was a grunt as well... That meant that getting close to her would not help Lilith in advancing in rank very much. However, what the woman said next piqued Lilith's interest. "Genetics, really? That's very interesting... Things like mutations and cloning?" Lilith took a small sip from her coffee and stared into the distance. "You know, cloning Pokemon has always been a difficult concept to understand for me. How on earth can you replicate the sheer, raw power of Pokemon? It seems impossible, but I suppose anything is now possible..."
Lilith snapped back to reality from her musings and smiled apologetically at Vironica. "I'm sorry. Don't mind me. Though I do have to wonder..." Lilith focused her glassy green eyes on the woman. "What exactly are you researching? I'm sure it would be something of interest to Team Rocket, no?"

"Well, isn't replication how a population grows in numbers? It's really not that shocking when you think of it like that, but that's my own personal philosophy. As for the process, it is quite complicated." As small chuckle came from Vironica as Lilith asked her what she was working. "Classified information. I don't think I'm supposed to be talking about findings to anyone but my co-workers and my higher ups. Please accept my apology on that note."
Looking down, she blinked. "Excuse me, I need to get some more tea.... Would you like anything while I'm up?"

Lilith blinked. "I... suppose. But of course, over-population is a problem, as well. Having a balance of that seems to be the solution. And now that I think about it, it seems that cloning would help Pokemon species that are endangered to get back on their feet." Lilith clasped her hands together and put her elbows on the table, resting her chin on her hands. She looked at Vironica. "Oh. No, I understand, of course. Confidential and all that. It's of no trouble."
Lilith closed her eyes and smiled. "Yes, if you would... I would like some more coffee, please." She handed her cup to the scientist and smiled. In her mind, however, she was frowning. Classified information, hm? That's not good. There's no way I could get any info on the cloning process if I can't have access to it. To be able to replicate that awesome power... It's inhumane. But then again, if somehow cloning a Pokemon would make it even stronger, that could definitely show the world it's true might...' Lilith chewed on her lip and stayed deep in thought.

Relieved that she wasn't going to have to say more, Vironica got up with the two cups and walked off to fill them both. She didn't really know much about the specifics of the work that was going on; only the mutterings of her higher ups while she was doing the mediocre choirs of the lab, but that was enough for her to know that with enough hard work, she'd finally be able to put her own wits to the test on these experiments. Until that time, she'd be busy keeping herself up to date with the latest Science Journals relating to her work, and continue to offer her assistance in her free time. Whoever said butt kissing didn't work was an idiot.
As she walked back to the table, she smiled and handed the coffee filled cup back to Lilith. "So, pardon for asking, but what is your field here?" The girl seemed interested in cloning, so maybe she was a scientist here as well.

Lilith was pulled back to earth from her thoughts by Vironica coming back to the table. She smiled as she retrieved her coffee cup and took a sip of the bitter drink. She paused, however, mid-sip when she was asked about her specific field. Lilith placed the cup on the table and looked at Vironica. "Well, I don't have a certain field that is my specialty, so I guess you could say I'm just a common Grunt. I... suppose I'm for the Team Rocket ideals, conquering the world and all that, but I'm here because..." Lilith smiled faintly. "I guess it just seemed the right thing to do, and I'm not going to turn back."
The young woman gazed into her coffee cup. "Of course, I have my own personal reasons for joining a crime organization like anyone, but those obviously are personal." She turned to smile at Vironica. "That is of no offense to you, by the way."

Sitting back down, Vironica took the string of the tea bag and bounced it a bit, then let her cup sit on the table. "Oh, no offense at all. I was just curious if you had a specific department you were in, or if you are aiming to be a field agent, that's all." She knew all too well about personal reasons; she had joined for the great number of labs and the incredible funding that she was sure Team Rocker offered their scientists, something she knew would be a very rare chance to come by.

Lilith took a rather large sip of her still warm coffee, gasping slightly at the sudden intake of bitterness. She set the cup down and, with her elbow on the table, placed her chin in the palm of her hand and looked at Vironica. "I guess just a field agent is all I'm aiming for at the moment. Like anyone else, I aspire to eventually get higher than that, but it's all in due time." her eyes stared down into the cup of coffee as she thought. I'm going to have to climb way higher than a mere field agent for my cause. It's all a matter of time... In the meanwhile, I can do my best to not disappoint and earn the favor of the higher-ups.
Lilith turned her focus back on the woman. "And what do you hope to be? Perhaps one of the chief scientists or engineers? I would think that you would have a fairly large chance of that with your research."

"It would be nice to eventually be a head of experiments, I'll admit, but it's satisfying enough to just do the work that I'm assigned for now. Besides, while I'm not at work, I still have science journals to keep up to date with; everyday something new is discovered these days, it seems..." Her voice trailing off, she took a long sip of her tea, loosing herself in her own thoughts about work.

Lilith chewed on her lip slightly and nodded as she listened to Vironica. "I suppose so. Kodo is still such an unexplored region... I wouldn't be surprised if a whole new species of Pokemon was discovered." The woman did her best to make small talk while she racked her brain. This woman isn't telling me much information... I doubt that she'll tell me much after I've only just met her. I'll have to make an effort to see her again in the future, but for now, I'll just play it cool... Lilith sighed a bit and took another sip of her coffee, which had at this point cooled somewhat.

"That would be very fortunate, especially if it's a rare species too. What is your favorite type?" Vironica kept the conversation on basic grounds; she wasn't authorized to talk about what she over heard in the labs, nor did she need to or have enough knowledge about what was really going on. This girl wasn't a scientist, although she seemed to have an interest in the experiments. That alone brought a little suspicion to her mind, but she refused to act upon those thoughts until she had solid evidence.
