So, being a crazed audiophile, I'm trying to find a wicked sweet portable device. So, I'm trying to see if anyone happens to have an old HDD MP3 player I can mod. If it's broken, I'll try to fix it. If you want some cash for it, I can make that happen. (As well as obviously covering shipping)
Items looked forrrrr:
Old, full size iPod. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th models. iPod U2 Spec, iPod Photo, iPod Video... Those are the best ones, but, I ain't gonna complain.
iRiver H series. Other super cheap hard drive based MP3 players. If you had a H120 or H140, and would be willing to part with it, I would be your love slave forevereverevereverever. But, that's a superdoubtable.
Creative series hard drive players. Wutevs, I dunno what's going on there. >_>
Any other weird unnamed or wutevs hard drive players. You can tell they're from a harddrive because of the capacity available. Non-hard drive players are as follows: 128 mb, 256 mb, 512 mb, 1 gb, 2 gb, 4 gb, 8 gb, 16 gb, 32 gb, 64 gb. Hard drive players are as follows: 5 gb, 8 gb, 10 gb, 20 gb, 30 gb, 40 gb, 60 gb, 80 gb, 100 gb, 120 gb, 240 gb.
Already tried this on FB, and the only thing I got was a response from our very own Isabelle offering up an old Nano, but unfortunately that's one of the non-hard drive early iPod offerings. Much thanks to her for mentioning it though. =D

Isabelle My sister used to have an iRivers, but knowing her, it's either lost in the abyss that is her old bedroom or it was tossed. confused Man though, I need a new player sooo bad. @___@ OMGGggg The old iRiver H series players are AMAZING. One of the only portable players ever made with a digital output. (Headphones = analog. Amplifier or Home Theatre = digital.) Oh, exploitable digital signals... *oddly evil laugh* I needs a new player pretty bad too... I haven't had a good portable device for a long time. On that note, though, if you're looking for something really cheap and awesome, check out the Sansa Clip and Sansa Fuze. Top rated players, and cheap as dirt. They won't work for me because I work in Lossless files, which are, like, 10x the size of an MP3. Each. o.o

I have a Sansa Sandisk MP3 player 4GB I think. I've had it for about 3 or so years now. I still love it. Players seem to be pretty cheap these days. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone that isn't using their players anymore since everyone I know has switched to using the Iphone instead.
