With a laugh - a somewhat maniacal laugh at that - she leapt upon the creaking tree that had fallen down across the river. Its branches now draped sadly into the water, leaves dragged away by the strong current. The trunk had broken off at the base, splintered and ruined and dry as a bone from the baking sun.
And, as the lioness padded out carefully along the trunk it rocked and rolled slightly beneath her weight, groaning as if her claws pained it. But she paid that no heed! What was the worst that could happen? She'd fall in...get dragged away in the powerful currents...maybe drown...maybe get eaten by piranha...maybe torn apart by those mean crocodiles...
Okay. OKAY!! A lot could go wrong. But did this female seem to care about that? Hell no!!
She laughed again and paused in step as the tree threatened to roll and tip her into the water.
"Oh no you don't~!" She sang, digging in her claws and bracing herself. She'd hang on if it was the last thing she did! Besides, if she could cross the river, what did that make her? Ah-May-Zing!!!
