First, I'd like to start by telling you-all that Del is my homeboy. And if he ever gets back from the afterlife, he's welcome to stay in my head.
I love Del like I'd love a very ghostly brother. Which is weird, considering that he freaked me out the most when I first saw the "Clint Eastwood" video waaaay back in 2000. But, with the passage of time, Del's grown on me. This may be because now I can appreciate rap without needing to act obscenely black...or may be that I've just changed as a person. I think Del was a great character, and I'm disappointed that Del the Funkee Homosapien (Del IRL) didn't want to work with the Gorillaz in Phase Two. My favorite thing about him? The lips, yes, but I also like how he always wore whatever hat Russel was wearing at the moment. And the way he looked static-y.
Paula, on the other hand, I have no love for. It's not that "OMG SHE WAZ 2D'S GF AN I HART 2D AN SO SHE CANT BE HIS GURLFREND COS I LUUUUUURVE HIM SOOOOOOOO MUCH LOLOLOLOL." She just didn't seem like a very creative character. There just wasn't enough about her that'd make her stand out. All the other characters have interesting backstories or quirky personalities. What did Paula have? She was 2D's girlfriend, and was a slut. Not very interesting, in my opinion.

It really was a shame that Del didn't want to work with Gorillaz for phase two. He had a rapping voice that perfectly suited their type of music, and his personality over-all seemed like something thatd cause him to want to work more with Gorillaz. From what I've read, Del is a video game/anime junkie, so I'm suprised he didn't want to work with them more. But I've also heard that Damon didn't ask him to come back, so I'm not sure which one is true. I also liked the whole hat thing. It kinda really showed how, uh, connected they were, in a brotherly sence. Really, In all regards, I like Paula a bit. I don't love her like I do the others in the band, but I still like her. I'm sick of people saying how bad she is (Not that I'm taking a stab at you. Infact, I agree with you on how she didn't have much of a peronality. But then again, I don't think any of us really know more about her other than the affair.) and how much of a slut she is, then going back to oogling over Murdoc. I mean, the real reason she was rid of was because Jamie thought Paula and Murdoc were too similar. I mean, so many people love Murdoc, but hate Paula when their pretty much the same. I mean, Murdoc sleeps around and is called 'cool' and a womanizer, but Paula did the same and was called a whore. I guess it's the wonders of being a woman. :/

i like everything about del. the animation effects...he's got real talent. i do want him back for phase two though. russel's gone totally off the deep end without him! gonk
paula...she's like murdoc's twin sister. WHAT THE -- ?! i think 2D has better taste than that...but i dislike her very much. mad

But...I'm just delusional. I fink I OD'ed on Tylonol again.
Tha' syrup liquidish tylonol stuff's nasty, thou'...
But the difference is tha' Murdoc never makes any commitments to anyone. He jus'...er...well...y'know..does it. Paula, on th'other hand made a commitment t'poor Stuart.
