In the cusp of evening's moon Enikil was busy at work. Once again had he snuck out of lessons to find time for his artwork. His life. Everything revolved around getting the perfect face, the perfect ear; an overall glorious sculpture to stay long after the inspiration was gone.
Which was the reason behind todays activity. For the past week he had stolen away to his secret area to concoct a monument to his sister. Dead carcasses stank up the area, but it didn't bother him. His senses were used to the smell. Eni pondered over a skull and chose a lioness', even though it was much too big.
"Maybe when I'm done," he mused aloud. "She'll visit me. And then I won't be alone anymore!"

 Mzuka woke with a start, like usual. Waking was never a slow thing for her. She just went from being a sleepy ghost to...well, VERY awake and active. She'd perched herself in a tree this time, and practically fell out of it. A quick grab of the branch with her paws and claws stopped that, however. Shaking herself, she proceeded to scrabble out of the tree, curious what tonight would bring.
The odd smell of dying, rotting things answered that. Oh? Curious, blood-color toes made their way through deadgrowth towards the smell. And she was rewarded with a rather odd, but welcome sight. One of her living family, a brother! Oh wonderful! And...he was making something? Curious, she closed the distance, ignoring the smell.
"Wha'cha doin'~?"

Enikil's paws were perched on the neck of the thing. He had his jaws in a death grip on the spine to yank it up so it wouldn't slouch like some old biddy. "Hrm?" His head snapped up and ever so excitedly he hopped down. It worked! She had come.
Now, if only he could summon goddess' as quickly as he could sisters. "Makin' you." He replied in a sing-song voice.

Her? Mzuka blinked and tilted her head. "Me?" She looked over the creation cautiously, not wanting to upset it. After all, she was certain that would make her brother sad. And she didn't like making her family sad. "Why me, brother?"

"Because your dead." And then he saw it. The missing piece! Enikil snatched up a couple of spinal disks to imitate the rings on her tail. He placed them with obsessive detail, snarling at his own paws when they didn't go the way he wanted. "It's a monument to honor you when your spirit passes."

"Oooooh~" She giggled and resisted the urge to nudge her brother affectionately. Such a thoughtful brother she had! "Don't worry! I'm not going anywhere for a long time." She smiled. "You and the others need someone to look over you, so I can't leave yet."

"Thats good! Cuz I'd miss you too much." He smiled goofily. Eni was so happy that she liked it. The sculpture he made of his father hadn't been met with the same results. "Whats it like being a ghost? And when did you die? I've only known you to be dead."
Despite his emotional short comings, Enikil was always eager to learn. And this case hit exspecially close to home.

"Well..." She thought a moment, debating how best to tell her brother. "I'm not as hungry as you all. So I need less food. And I'm lots quieter." She nodded. "I like it. Makes it easy to protect you all."
When did she die? Oooo...that was a tricky one. "I think..before we were born. I've...I've only known myself dead too."

His blood tipped tail flipped up up on his pure fur, leaving a streaked stain. "Your'e like the Goddess then." Enikil stated with awe. At least, thats what it seemed like to him. "Or a helper, I think."
He padded around to her side and gave her ear a tug. "You don't protect me, I protect you! Thats what brothers do. Sisters are 'upposed to be pretty and smart."

She was very, very flattered. Such praises for one like her! "I am certainly no Goddess, brother. Simply just a helper, I think." No God or Goddess had come to her yet, so she wasn't quite sure of what she was, save a ghost and a protector.
She giggled at the ear tugging, and bumped her shoulder to his. "Oh I know the normal roles, Enikil. But I am best as a protector."

He laughed and winked, sticking his tongue out at the same time. "If you think so, then it must be true." Enikil padded a circle around her to reach his goal. The sculpture was finished, true, but his paws still itched. "Hey, why don't we make one together? I've still got alot of spare parts."

Mzuka giggled, still rather flattered by the sculpture. And now it was all finished! Her brother was so good at this! She blinked at her brother when he made his offer...and she nodded happily.
"I would love to make one with you!" For him to let her in on one...that made her very happy indeed.

Enikil's ears perked up. "Really? Thats great!" Most visitors to his museum didn't want to look at his work, but his sister wanted to help! This was the best day ever.

Mzuka tilted her head to one side, ears lying flat and straight out as she thought. Who to make, who to make...OH!
"Why not Mommy? Or our Grandmother the Varkun!" They were pretty females, and very important...to them at least.

"Oooh, let's do Grandmother." True, he would rather have sculpted his own mother, but this could be a good way to get them brownie points.
