((This ORP is for everyone who wants to be involved - after this initial post, feel free to have your senshi/nega/civilian show up. The senshi and negaverse officers WILL have felt the power surge by the tree, civilians will have not. All will be able to "hear" the Tree as it speaks in their head in its later posts. When the Tree posts a second time (in about 24 hours), free-reign posting will end and you'll need to (please) PM me if you wish to post and I will tag everyone accordingly after that point))
Makaiju was calling. Ilitzi lay dead at the base of the Tree, the trunk surrounded by the remaining five aliens and the two unfortunate senshi who had stumbled into the park at the wrong place and time. Iya continued to dangle helplessly from the branches above, woven among the vines in a deadly hold. The Tree had given the senshi and aliens a choice of sacrifice and only the two sailor scouts remained unharmed by their decision (save for their stomachs - those continued to churn at the sight of the impaled boy at their feet). The other aliens had rushed out of hiding during their brother's murder. They had defended their sister, offered themselves to replace the other, but the offering no longer satisfied the Tree. Makaiju had reached out, spread out its branches as far as possible, energy from within pouring out into the air. It was intense, it was suffocating, a powerful signal to any and all powered-beings within miles of the park. The aliens feared for their lives - if the Tree lost its energy, it would die. If the Tree died, it would only be a short matter of time before they too would perish. The Tree beckoned others to come - it demanded to be purified, demanded to be cleansed for a second time. But where was the Moon Princess now? Was there no one that could redeem the Tree of its corruption once more?

To feel the call was strange, She hadn't put the call together with the strange card creatures that they had fought over the previous nights, not till she saw the aliens, even the dead one whom at once made a hand fly to her mouth and peeked a sort of morbid curiosity.
Still, it was one thing to study pictures and take apart fetal pigs, it was another to see something that was at least shaped like a person.
She let her eyes dart from person to person, Corvus, an unknown young man, the Alien in the tree caught in the tight weave of branches. What was -happening? What was this strange tree.
"Oh my god..." she whispered " the energy spilling out was, intense, strange and crushing.
"What's happening" She asked of no one in particular, desperate to understand.

-Polaris was patrolling, solitary eyes gazing over the streets with soft interest. She was alone, a no no indeed, but her cellphone was clutched in hand should she find something that required assistance. It was quiet.. mostly uneventful as well, though her eyes had narrowed a few times, leaning forward to take in what turned out just to be rowdy people. When the wave of energy and power hit her, she jolted in soft surprise, fingers pressing against the ground to steady herself from the strange energy.
It was unlike anything she'd ever felt before. Unnatural and powerful, the waves of it made her uneasy, and she quickly found that she was able to detect the direction in which it'd come from. The park. It seemed like it was always the park.
She'd set out, boots slapping on the pavement, skirt fluttering, her lungs crying for air long before she'd found the source. When finally something, anything came into sight that might have explained it.. the last bits of air left her lungs. The tree was massive, exuding an aura that actually pulled forth some feelings of fear in the young girl. She stared. Someone was captive.. Someone was... laying near the base.
It was easy enough to make out the aliens that she'd run into.. but she was too busy walking slowly forward, eyes wide with awe and confusion. What was even happening? Had they possessed the tree? They seemed far too distressed, too consumed, her attention remained agape at the scene as she drew dangerously close.-

Sailor Corvus had been frozen in place after her last plea, but all of that seemed to change when Eridanus had been dropped. While her heart was still pounding, her teenage mind still screaming in her ears, she knew that she had to make sure that he was alright. She had made it to her teammate's side, gloved hands tugging him closer to her as the tree continued to speak.
Trembling with fear she had responded in the only way that she currently knew how to; with truth. There was no Moon Princess in this time or place. Dozens of sailor scouts searched and dreamed, but one could hardly find what wasn't yet there.
The wave of energy that the tree emitted sent a chill through her body but she remained steady, shielding Sailor Eridanus protectively with her body providing he was still too disoriented to currently argue with her. "We'll get out of this, somehow. We'll..." A familiar voice broke into her thoughts and she cursed, eyes dark as they drifted towards the Senshi of Blood. Hadn't she learned that the park could be dangerous at night?
"MuCephi..." Together they had brought down two Cardians. Corvus had seemed almost fearless then... But something had obviously gone wrong this time and she didn't have any answers for her senshi friend.

Ishi was frantic. Ilie was safe but the Makaiju was upset. The Makaiju was upset. Ilitzi was dead. Iya was in it's branches, still in danger. The Makaiju was sending out a call, using all it's precious energy to send it out. The Makaiju was upset, the Makaiju was loosing it's energy, and the worst possible thing could happen, the Makaiju could die.
The Makaiju could die. If the Makaiju died, Ilie would die. Iya would die, Iyero would die, Irre would die. And then he would die.
Ishi was frantic. "Makaiju! Stop! We'll find the princess! She..she'll help! Please stop! Stop Makaiju, stop!" Ishi didn't know what to do. Clinging to Ilie, wincing as the energy washed over him, Ishi kept begging the tree to stop. He didn't want this! He never wanted this. All he wanted was a home. A safe place for him and Ilie. That was all. He just wanted a home.

It had been a long day. A tiring day. Gabbie had decided to forgo the night's patrol in favor of catching up on homework and sleep. In fact, she'd already undressed and slipped into her comfiest pajamas when she felt the strange power surge. Her head went up, nose twitching as if she were a hunting hound. The power was a call that she couldn't ignore. Stripping again and this time pulling on sweatpants and a tank top, she bolted from her aunt's home, heading unerringly for the park.
Once she was clear of suburbia and just inside the edges of the park, she transformed in a warm rush of energy. Then, Sailor Saiph raced deeper, heeding the call, a tiny part of her mind wondering why she was blindly running towards something that she couldn't identify. Cool air whipped her hair and stung her eyes as she moved deeper into the park.
And then, she was there and the pull weakened its hold on her. Before her was a monstrous tree, two senshi and a bunch of aliens, two of which she recognized. And then she saw the dead alien and felt her gorge rise. Keeping her eyes on the aliens, she moved forward quietly, gently.
After a moment, she paused, staring around her in shock. That the tree was what had sent out the call, she had no doubt. She hadn't missed the little alien girl trapped up among the branches. The small, frightened face was what got her moving again, helped her break out of her shock. Whatever these aliens were, whatever they'd been after, that was still a little girl trapped and frightened. She couldn't help the dead boy, but she could try and help the little girl.
Glancing back at the other two senshi, she made a small, helpless, apologetic shrug. She would help them, but first, the had to try and get the little girl down. Stepping forward, she placed a careful hand against the trunk of the tree, looking for a way up. After a minute's study, she decided that she would have to jump and grab. So, backing up a few steps, she took a deep breath, ran and leaped. And felt her hands grab the nearest branch. As she hung there, she thought that she probably could have thought this through a bit more.
"Hang on, kiddo," she called up in her most reassuring voice. "I'm going to try to get to you and get you out of that. I want to help, okay?"
Then, she started swinging and managed to swing enough to hook one leg over the branch and pull herself up to sit. Well, so far so good.

"The chances of the are looking better by the second." Eridanus agreed. He was still tired and disoriented from the aliens trying to drain him when all of this had started, but the slow, steady gather of other senshi gave him some hope. He wasn't sure if they could give the tree what it wanted, Their princess was still missing, and it was anyone's guess if The Zodiac Princess could help as theirs had, once, but at least they could stop the tree from causing any more harm. "You ok, Bats?"

Ellie Spectre had been at home, doing Ellie Spectre sorts of things. Homework, fixing up a car that was beyond hopeless, and eating dinner by herself (Mom and Dad were both late from work). She had just about finished up her Ellie Spectre things and was about to go out and do some Sailor Iris things when it happened.
She had transformed and suddenly a wave of energy overwhelmed her. It almost felt like a strange pressure trying to crush her. Obviously this wasn't a normal thing to be feeling. Many would have been very wary, but Sailor Iris was far from careful as they could be. The pit of her stomach hurt, but she shoved the sensation out of her mind and ran as fast as her legs could carry her towards whatever was causing all of this. As Ellie Spectre, she lived rather close to the park, and that seemed to be where this wave of heebie-jeebie energy seemed to be coming from.
The source of energy was hard to miss. A giant flailing tree. Something in the back of her mind pointed out how this was obviously not a Youma. Youma didn't reek of energy. Nor were they usually this big. Perhaps it was for the best that she did not see any of the aliens as she approached, for the Senshi probably would have merely jumped in to attack rather than make note of the actual situation.
Yet when her feet stopped, only two words escaped her mouth. "Well f*ck!"

Parker Damhnait had been at his soon-to-be apartment feeding the kitten he'd rescued when he felt the pulse of energy. The calling was strong, and the teen was still riding high on the joys of being a super-powered being in a world where he had once been helpless. Locking the door, he tucked the key into his pocket and took the fire escape.
By the time he landed on the ground, he was Sailor Taranis. It didn't feel like a youma, and it didn't feel like another senshi either. His feet peddled hard across the ground, and he whipped out his cellphone to tell Magellan where he was going. This felt like something else; it might be good to have back-up.
When Taranis broke onto the scene, he could feel a speckling of different energies -- all senshi. Colleagues. And then... a massive tree? Taranis came to a stop beside MuCephi, his eyes lingering on Polaris for only a moment. He hardly had time to consider her presence. There were clearly bigger things at hand.
Cool eyes flickered briefly to MuCephi, hands curling to fists. "Did you feel it? I felt it all the way in East Heights." There were two senshi caught up in that tree, another trying to climb into it, and a smattering of other beings Taranis did not know. He assumed a defensive stance and waited for an idea to reach him. Instead, he said, "What the ******** is that thing? Do we need to fight it?" There were more senshi here than he'd ever seen in one place before. In the mind of a brand new sailor scout, it seemed like this battle should be a piece of cake.
...right?

"Isn't it obvious? We need to take down that overgrown weed before it takes us down."
Out from the brush stepped forward Sailor Aphrodite, newest arrival on the scene. It only took moments for her eyes to settle on the dead Ilitzi and that was all it took to settle her mind as to what needed to be done.
"It killed a boy - it's trying to lure us in to kill us."
She, like the others, had come to investigate the odd power surge that had encompassed the city. The senshi of Thrall had been patrolling at the time, when they sudden rush of energy had overtaken her. It had been suspicious, she had been wary, but like a moth to a flame, she'd answered the call.
One hand rose in the air and Heartseeker materialized. The cold chain fell into her palm as the anchor weight swayed parallel to her arm.
"I say we take care of it now, before it has the chance to strike again. See? It already has another girl," her free hand pointed towards Iya, who was struggling with Sailor Saiph to try to loosen her bonds, "Who says it's not going to try to take all of us too?"

"I'm fine." Sailor Corvus met her partner's gaze with a reassuring smile. She would be strong for those who needed her to be and in this case she had a feeling that was what Sailor Eridanus needed to hear. Or maybe she needed to hear herself say it, but she stood by her words, giving his shoulder a light squeeze.
As Cordelia, she would have been more than content to leave things like that; to let the others take care of things while she saw to the protection of her tiny team. As Sailor Corvus she knew that there was more at stake than that, far more.
Her gaze shifted from Eridanus to the newest senshi on the scene, turning to steel at the words she heard fall from the other girl's mouth. "It's not going to. It let us go. It..." When the weapon materialized she was on her feet, eyes growing darker as she stared the senshi down. She couldn't have been one of theirs...
"Are you crazy?" That was a stupid question to ask. "What makes you think it won't kill you if you attack it? Or kill her," she pointed to the senshi who was in its branches trying to rescue Iya from Makaiju's clutches. "It needs us. Can't you feel its pain?"
She probably couldn't. She didn't exactly look like the sort of girl who took others into consideration... Then again, maybe she herself wouldn't have had she not been so involved from the start. "I won't let you. Not if there's a chance any of the rest of us can help without resorting to your tactics."

Azzo had stayed obviously much later than he should've. He was at kickboxing practice and without grams at home he was staying late to get some extra frustrations out.
He noticed blurrs running into the park which he had to pass on his way home. He'd been keeping tabs were Youma were doing his best to avoid them, still in his sweats he could run if he needed to, though he doubted he could out run it.
So when he saw the blurs he couldn't help but stop and glance towards what they seemed to be heading towards. His curiosity was peaking, it wasn't a Youma they were after, he didn't feel one here. There wasn't one here. He slowly made his way through the park trying to find where whatever it was, was going.
He shouldn't though, Aurora had said maybe it was best to let them do their job. Polaris and Mel both that night with the two headed beast had said he should stay out of trouble, not get himself killed, live to find answers another day. He sighed even the talk with *********, the tailless cat echo'd in his mind, despite the fact she didn't speak back. He didn't even know she could speak. He'd been lost in thought looking to see what he could find when he wondered across what could've been a tree and a very large meeting, but it looked like someone was dead and another two in the tree... stuck?
He stopped behind trees with enough distance he could watch, mostly unseen for the time being. Some words catching his ears, however unintelligible. Were they fighting? He saw the fat guy that was floating in the air from the last battle he'd met one of the senshi down below. There was Polaris too...
He frowned wondering what was going on. He wanted to get closer, he wanted to hear. But yet... he figured the two that knew him might scold him, he didn't want that. One summoned a chain from thin air, a blonde, different from the others. He looked confused, was that the negaverse? But she looked like a senshi... sorta.
Azzo wasn't sure what to do. Other than to stay back and offer help if he saw a time where it might be needed. He frowned, he wished there was something he could do to help, instead of just stand back far enough away that he could watch the goings on. It'd be his luck some senshi would probably run up behind him and give him away. That was if the others didn't see him first. The question was, at least for Azzo, how do you help when you can't? Or was it how could you help when you weren't allowed?

"If it was going to kill us it's had a hundred opportunities already!" Eridanus found the energy to protest the actions of this new, dark senshi. "Don't hurt them!"
They'd been so desperate to protect the tree, and each other. How could she not feel their anguish? He could see himself easily doing the same for his own family.
"The boy was one of the, the Trees people. He told the tree to kill the other girl, so it killed him instead! It had me but it let me go!"
He was still using Corvus for support, but she could feel his arm shift. If this stranger, Aphrodite, tried to attack, he planned to try and stop her, even drained as he was. There had to be another way. There HAD to!

It took quite a bit of effort for Sailor Flora to tug her Princess out for a patrol; and said effort was put in to convince both herself and Serenade. Eve did not want to patrol alone, and would not patrol alone if Serenade continued to shake her head, and had been almost on the verge on giving up; it wasn't as if she was very enthusiastic to meet more Negaversers either. Especially a certain bluenette and a pink-haired girl toting around a bunny plush. But she had took in a deep breath; Eve did not give up. Ever. She persisted, and finally Serenade agreed to patrol 'just for a bit', so she said.
And so, Princess Chronos (though she wasn't really thinking herself as a princess these days) and her handmaiden sneaked out of Crystal Academy to do what a senshi usually did at this time of the night. It was a relatively quiet night, though somewhat eerie, until they sensed it...
Something calling, some strange power pulsating and pulling them towards where it came from, and without hesitation, Chronos broke into a run, Flora following close behind. There was panic rushing through the Zodiac Princess as she ran; was it Wiseman doing something, or even Black Lady, but they hadn't given out this tremendous amount of power when they last met! Or was it because he now possessed her Crystal?
It was not, as they skidded to a halt to regard the scene before them, but neither could breathe a sigh of relief just yet. "MuCephi." Flora breathed, finding a familiar figure amongst the senshi and ran to her teammate's side. "What's going on, what is their tree doing?"
Chronos' attention was instead, shifted to the senshi who held a weapon, and she clutched her staff as she listened quietly. Chronos did not know what to do; did not know what she could do. She was helpless, or at least, she felt helpless without her Opal Crystal, and didn't know if she could help. She could only stand there, and hope... Eridanus and Corvus talked; and they seemed to know more than the others did, and her cerise gaze was soon on them.
She spoke, and the senshi at the Senshi Meeting would recognize her for who she was. "Then what does it want?"

Somewhat to her own surprise, Saiph had managed to get up to the girl tangled in the tree's branches. She edged out on the closest branch to the girl and reached out a hand to gently pat the girl's foot.
"Hey there, kiddo. What say we try to get you down from here and back to your friends. They're your family, right?"
She smiled up into the frightened, tear-stained face and felt a wave of pity sweep over her. Whatever these aliens had been trying to do, it had been done to survive. Maybe they hadn't known any better. Carefully and with what appeared to be a deep respect for the tree, she began to tug at the branches, doing her best to loosen them without breaking them. Somehow, she had the feeling that the tree would not take kindly to having bits of itself snagged off.
As she worked, she was vaguely aware of the others speaking. And she'd certainly heard the one loudly calling for them to kill this tree. Then another voice refuting it, a voice she recognized from that stupid meeting. What had Astuna called that girl... Corvus? Yes, it had been Corvus. What Corvus said made sense.
"Typical," she muttered, taking care that her voice was pitched to carry down to the one senshi, "present someone with something new and unknown and they assume the worst and start screaming for blood."
Pausing a moment in her labors, she turned and stared down at the girl holding the weird chain and weight. Then turned her gaze to Corvus and then to the aliens.
"You know," she said in a carrying voice, "it occurs to me that instead of demanding we kill the tree, we could, oh I don't know, try to figure out a few things beforehand. Like what," here she paused and turned to face the group of aliens, "exactly you lot were expecting to do when you came here. Why this planet?"
She looked deeply interested in what their answers might be. After all, she hadn't heard the tree's voice, so she didn't know the story.
