Has anyone read this series? It was originally a trilogy but a new book was recently added. They're by Garth Nix, and they're some of my favorites!

I've only read Sabriel, but it was really good. I'd heard the others weren't as good...or not worth reading..is that true?

Ah! Such an engrossing series! I started Sabriel, and was done with the whole trilogy (minus "Over the Wall") in a week or so. They made me stay up late and forget to study for important tests.

Mercuryangel I've only read Sabriel, but it was really good. I'd heard the others weren't as good...or not worth reading..is that true? SO untrue. There are four out now; I'm SO excited to get to read the fourth. They're all fantastic books!

The Abhorsen series are some of my all-time favorite books! I love Gath Nix's writing, and he Abhorsen books are his best.

I love them! 4laugh Actually I had never heard of the books nor the autor before I read Sabriel, I only bought it because I had some spare book coupons. I have the first three (so there are for books, I should look for the 4th) in Dutch, though I would like to read them in English once.

The actual last book in the trilogy was Abhorsen, but he released Across the Wall, which contains the novella The Creature in the Case and... either 9 or 13 shorter stories. I checked it out from the libary and the novella was nice, but short, and the short stories were all good.
(sunscreen, I think)

I haven't read the most recent book, but I loved the trilogy. Sabriel engrossed me from the first page on; Nix does an incredible job of blending fantasy with realistic characters one can relate to, and manages to pull it off in an interesting page-turning manner. I also liked the bells and the job of the Abhorsen- very unique (I haven't read anything similar, at least).

Mercuryangel I've only read Sabriel, but it was really good. I'd heard the others weren't as good...or not worth reading..is that true? I loved Lirael but found Abhosen a bit of a let down, especially the ending. It seemed a bit rushed. I didn't know there was a fourth book, I'll have to track it down.
