Edmund was walking down the hallway towards the girls dorms with a book or two tucked under his arm. He looked at the names on the doors looking for the correct one. Earlier Aiden had asked him if he would watch after Mira since she was sick and Aiden wanted to go to Alice and Syth's wedding with Andy. Edmund certainly didn't mind. He figured it would give him a chance to get to know Mira better, and he liked that he got to do a favor for a friend. He had really had a lot of fun dancing with her at the ball before everything got messed up and he kind of hoped they'd get to do something like that again sometime. He hoped she didn't think he was weird for the way he acted last time they were in Andy's room when Andy had fallen and knocked Mira into him. He didn't think she did, but he felt just a little bit nervous about it.

Finally he found the door to Andy and Mira's room. He brushed his bangs out of his face and hesitated just for a moment before knocking lightly on the door. "It's Edmund." He called through, in case she would want to know who it was. As he waited for a response he felt small nervous butterflies enter his stomach a bit. He closed his eyes and willed them to go away, reassuring himself that Mira was his friend and wouldn't think he was weird.

When he was invited to come in Edmund opened the door to Mira and Andy's room. He shut it behind himself quietly and smiled when he saw Mira. "Ah...yeah the sun does feel nice." he agreed. He looked around for a chair to pull up next to Mira's bed. "So how are you feeling?" he asked with some slight concern in his voice. He didn't ever remember being sick, but he had an idea that it wasn't any fun at all.

Once he spotted a chair he pulled it over and sat in it, settling the books he had been carrying into his lap. He turned his gaze to her and thought that she looked nice in the sunlight. It brought out the light green tone in her hair and shone nicely off her pale skin. He wasn't really overly conscious of these thoughts, his main concern being how she felt at the moment, which was lucky because he might have felt embarrassed by them if he had been paying attention.

As soon as Mira said she was feeling better Edmund felt a bit relieved. "It's nice to meet you again too." he smiled again, feeling happy that Mira was glad to see him again. She didn't seem to think he was strange either, which made him feel better too. "I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm fine. I never ended up sick or anything after the lake."

Edmund was pretty much in the same boat as Mira. He had two younger brothers, and he'd only had longer conversations with other boys. The only female he had spent large amounts of time with was his Mother, and that seemed to be a bit different then spending time with girls his own age. "Oh, um...if you need anything just let me know, and I'll get it for you." He rubbed his thumb lightly along the edge of the book in a nervous gesture as he spoke.

Edmund watched as she reached out and wondered what she was doing. Then he figured maybe she had heard him playing with the book and had wondered what it was. It didn't occur to him that she might want to hold his hand. "Oh I brought a few books. I thought maybe you'd want me to read to you. I think I remember hearing that people liked books when they're sick..." Aiden hadn't mentioned anything to him. He'd just come to the conclusion on his own that it would maybe be nice for him to read to Mira since she couldn't read books with her own eyes. He blinked slightly as she giggled. "Hm?" he made a questioning noise, wondering what was funny.

Edmund gave Mira another smile, feeling very pleased that she'd want to be read to. "Well, to be honest...I wanted to spend more time with you anyway. So when Aiden asked if I'd come watch you I was actually really glad." he confessed to her.

Edmund watched her turn this way and that as if searching. He didn't offer to help because he figured that if Mira needed help, she would ask. Curiosity came over him as Edmund watched her pull a bag into her lap, and then interest when she pulled out the pen. He couldn't help feeling a bit surprised when it was offered to him and his brown eyes widened a bit preciously. "F-for me?" he reached out and took it from Mira. He peered at it, holding it up in the sunlight and watching it gleam. "It's very pretty...thank you." he responded in a hushed tone, almost like he was in awe. He didn't exactly know why she was giving it to him, but he couldn't help feeling extremely happy that Mira would give him a present. After a moment of sitting there in silence letting it sink in his face broke out into a smile, the good nervous butterflies blowing into his stomach at full force. "I'll think of you...every time I use it."

As Mira blushed, Edmund started on a blush of his own. Maybe Mira was feeling the same things he was. He couldn't believe that Mira wanted to spend more time with him too, but it made him incredibly happy. Without thinking about hit he brought his own hands up to cover his face in a copying motion. "I don't really...understand either." He felt almost, but not quite giddy, and shy, and nervous, and he thought maybe this was maybe what it felt like when you liked someone. "I don't know what you're feeling, but I just know that...I really like you a lot." he half blurted out, half confessed. His heart was beating so fast it almost felt like it was trying to escape. Had he just said that out loud? Edmund was just coming to grips with his emotions himself and here he had blurted them out. What if Mira didn't like him too? Should he be feeling like this so soon after meeting Mira? The questions raced through his mind as he sat there frozen waiting to see what Mira would say next.

Surprise washed over him again as Mira told him about how the stars told her things, and especially the bit about her thinking he was the one meant for her. It sounded to Edmund like something wonderful out of a fairytale. The idea of being meant for someone sounded so good to him. As Mira confessed to liking Edmund back a sense of relief and joy washed over him. He pulled his hands away from his face too revealing a smile. "I'm g-glad you really like me too." He grinned, blushing all the while. "You really think that...the stars think I'm the one for you?" It didn't really seem that odd to him that Mira would be talking with the stars. They seemed so distant and old, and probably they were wise. "What else do the stars tell you?" Edmund was curious now.
