Uuuuurrrrgh, I haven't knit a stitch in weeks and weeks. D: My finals are next week, so I haven't had a lot of free time. I was going to carry a small 'learn-to-crochet' project with me, but my left wrist has either a minor break or a horrible sprain, so I haven't been able to. One of my friends actually took my hooks so I didn't injure myself more.. sweatdrop

Ooo fun! I love random chatter. This guild seems like it's going to be a lot of fun. Today was my first day off work since i started decorating cakes, and believe me! when you do that for 8 hours a day it hurts =o. so i'm thankful for the time off, i'm going to be pretty lazy today, probably make a hat or two and read and nap. haha.
What has everyone else been doing?

Yeah your right this guild does seem like it's going to be lots of fun. smile I wish I had a job...>_< I just got done helping my mom with a few things. She needed help with resizing images and the printer which is being a bit of a ding dong now. stare
Mmm cake. Your making me hungry now! lol.
I wish I was as quick as you on making things. I tried making gloves the other day and failed. I watched a 'how to purl' video and it just added more stitches onto my needle. I don't think it was supposed to do that, right? O.o Even the tutorial didn't mention it. Then I watched another purl video and it was doing it slightly similar so I guess I'll try that one. Is there no correct way to purl and knit? I'm curious about that.

I'm curious about that. haha yeah purls aren't supposed to be increases. a purl is just a backward knit stitch or what they call "reverse" to do a block making one row knit and the next purl and so on you'll get what they call a Stockinette stitch which is a very common used pattern opposed to only using knit rows which is garter stitch.

Thank you that really helps. Apparently this person on youtube thinks what they are doing is a purl stitch then. >-> I'm supposed to be doing a Stokinette Stitch though. Knit one, purl two, knit one, purl two...You get the point. So once again I will try to make those gloves....And casting on is a nightmare in itself too. I have seen like three different ways on how to cast on. It makes things harder for me because I don't know which videos to believe. confused So...I'm wondering if anyone can put up correct knitting videos for me? I would really really really appreciate it. And if you need motivation I'll give you gold. Seriously I am desperate. sweatdrop

feel free to ask for help, I'm actually a mentor in the competition group I'm in, so I'm always hunting down info and pattern help.
(which is weird, because there's a surprisingly low amount of patterns in any of my projects)
