Penthesilea padded forward her mind busy with thinking about the task at hand. Thealia had certainly done a very stupid thing and now it was up to Penthesilea to right this wrong. This wasn't exactly how she expected to start her day but if she didn't attend to this task today then the lives of two pups may very well be lost. Though she was filled with anger over Thealia's decisions her exterior was calm as she approached the border of the pack lands that Thealia had told her was the home of the pups father. She had left Thealia and the two pups behind for now, hoping to at least talk to the alpha of this pack before they showed up. Hopefully Thealia wouldn't do anything else stupid, like abandon the pups once more while she was gone.
Giving her head a shake to clear it of those thoughts she slowed her pace a bit as she came to the border of the other packs lands. She could smell the scent of other wolves, a clear sign that she was at least nearing where they lived but as of right now could not see any of the pack members in the area.

Chivosi had taken to doing boarder patrols when Mene had first left in order to help out Merrill who seemed determined to take on most of the pack work herself rather then delegate it out to others. And although Mene had returned Chiv had continued the patrols - they gave her time to think and her mate wasn't exactly back to his old self anyways. Chivosi wasn't sure what this meant for the future of their immediate family - but she'd be damned if it hurt their extended pack family.
It was while she was out on one of these patrols that she caught scent of another - this wasn't completely abnormal wolves seemed to find their way to YMCA fairly regularly an so Chiv wasn't to terribly concerned when she changed course to find out just who was lurking near her boarder. It wasn't long before she caught sight of the feathered female, but unlike many of the wolves she found this one did not appear timid or unsure of herself - quite the opposite actually. Well there was no point in lurking among the shadows and stepping through the brush she made herself known, head and tail high as she eyed the other wolf.

The presence of the other wolf was no surprise to Penthesilea, she had heard her coming well before she spoke or showed herself. Clearly this one had not been given the expert training that one of her pack sisters was given from birth - learning the art of moving without making a sound. Her eyes turned to take in the female, her carriage said that she was a high ranking wolf - most likely an alpha - but from Penthesilea's experience some wolves acted like they were higher ranks than they truly were when meeting strangers.
Carrying herself at an equal height that the other female was doing Penthesilea padded forward a bit before coming to a stop. "You are the leader of this pack?" She questioned, it wasn't her normal introduction for sure, but she had to make sure that this was indeed the alpha before explaining her reason for being here.

Chivosi eyed the other as she approached, she was an odd creature - bedecked in feathers and hide like she was and she carried herself like a leader, which begged the question...just what was another Alpha doing wandering about on her lands? Some of the reasons Chivosi thought of right off the bat were not good ones, some of them potentially dangerous.
But thus far the strange female hadn't offered any hostile actions and Chivosi liked to give others the benefit of the doubt when first meeting them so she was willing to listen. Nodding her head slightly she answered "I am Chivosi, Alpha of the YMCA Pack that resides here" She confirmed.

Penthesilea took a moment to inspect the other before she said anything else. Well she certainly wasn't as well muscled as her own pack sisters, but it was clear that she did keep herself in good shape. That was a good sign, especially since the other just confirmed that she was indeed an alpha. Penthesilea tipped her head slightly as she spoke. "It is good to meet you. My name is Penthesilea, I am the Queen of the Antianeira pack that lies north of here."
She fell into silence for a moment, in all her preparations on the way here she still had not thought of the best way to break the news to this pack but it would seem the best way would likely be an alliance of sorts. "There are some things I wish to discuss with you Chivosi, regarding your pack and my own. Do you have time to stay and talk a while?"

Queen huh? Well Chivosi had heard of such things during her traveling years - many packs used different titles for different positions, what was important was that she had mentioned already having a pack and some land to the North. This was good - it meant it was unlikely she was here seeking to take over or cause trouble. What a relief...YMCA was hardly a pack capable of waging war at the moment, thy had to many young,to many shy and too many unfit for such things.
"I have not heard of your pack, but welcome you to my lands none the less, I can make the time - for clearly you would not have traveled from your own lands to seek us out without good reason" she told the other.

It was no shock that Chivosi had not heard of Antianeira before today, the pack had been mostly disbanded for many months and previous to that generally kept to themselves. Now though it would seem that it was time to make Antianeira a bit more known in the world of Telk - or at least have this pack know about them.
"Our pack was...dissolved for some time." She began to explain. "It has only recently come back together. From our travels back to my packs lands it would seem that one of my sisters came across a member of your pack. He explained that it was a refuge of sorts, for those who are shy or lost or just need a place to sleep for the night." Penthesilea took a moment to lower herself down onto her haunches as this would likely take a while to explain everything.
"Allow me to quickly explain a bit about my pack. We are not like most, Antianeira is a sisterhood of sorts. We believe that we can live fulfilling and strong lives without males to provide for us. We are warriors first and foremost - spending our entire lives training to be strong and independent."

Well that certainly explained why they had not heard of them before now Chivosi thought to herself as the other explained what had befallen their pack, thought it was unclear what exactly had dissolved the pack in the first place it wasn't unheard of - such things happened fairly often. YMCA had many wolves who had come to them after just such an event. "YMCA is a sanctuary" She confirmed "A place for wanderers to find safety for a long as they so desire it - assuming that they also contribute to the pack while they are here" She expanded on the pack although it seemed whomever had talked to their sister had relayed the packs ideals fairly well.
She did wonder at Penthesilea's pack ideals however, Chivosi had never considered Menelaus to be 'providing' for her - it was more of an equal relationship, or it had been before his illness. The thought of this made her shift her feet slightly, but she wasn't about to air her woes on this stranger. "That is a different way of thinking...both male and female are equal in YMCA" She allowed after a time "How is it your pack expands without males?" Of this she was curious - she couldn't have any female napping sisterhood living to her north after all.

Penthesilea nodded as Chivosi confirmed that her pack was indeed a type of refuge for others. This was good, as long as the talks continued to go well she may have found the perfect place to send Thealia's pups - after all the father of those pups did live in these lands. The pups would not be able to contribute much to the pack to start with but as they grew surely they could find some job to help out.
"As I said, we are quite different from most packs. Some believe in equality between males and females, others are male dominated where females must do whatever their males wishes, while we are a sisterhood who look after each other." A small smile crossed her maw. "We do not live our entire lives without males. There are a few within our pack, however they are our slaves. They preform small tasks for us and through that they gain the protection of our sisters." She paused for a moment before continuing. "However, I must make it clear that we do not treat our slaves badly, they have a choice to live amongst us, working for us or to leave and find a pack better suited for them. They are not our equals by any measure but merely fulfill certain duties for us."
Tail flicked about as she thought of how to word was was next to be said. "This is why I have come here. I am looking for a place that can serve as a place of refuge for those who do not wish to stay and serve the sisters. They will certainly work for their place to stay but may wish for a different way of life outside of Antianeira. The sister that I spoke of earlier, she has some puppies that she wishes to rid herself of. I convinced her to bring them here as it was said to be a sanctuary. I know they will not be able to work for their place in the pack for some time but once they are older surely they can help out in any way possible."

Chivosi blinked a bit as the other spoke - she certanly couldn't condone slavery! That was a wicked way of life...forcing others to do what you did not wish to do and she might have voiced this had not the feathered wolf continued on with her little speech and clarified things a bit more. It seems the males were not forced - and choose such a life for themselves and were treated well - should that be the case well despite her own feelings towards such things everyone had a right to choose how they wished to live.
Which of course meant she couldn't turn away those who might wish to escape such a fate - and growing up in a female dominated society they would undoubtedly need a safe way sop in which to adjust to a more equal lifestyle. That was the purpose of YMCA in essence. "I could not turn away such wolves and still uphold our packs beliefs" she told Penthesilea "Such wolves would be welcome here, puppies of course are not expected to be anything other then puppies until they have grown" Though she did wonder what sort of mother could possibly try to 'rid' herself of her puppies - it seemed terribly callous and recalling her own litter she felt great pity for the poor beasts. "I cannot fathom a mother which would desire to rid herself of her offspring" She told Penthesilea "It sours my stomach to be honest..but never would pups be turned away"

Enough of this waiting, Thealia couldn't take much longer with these two pups beside her being a reminder of her failure. At least she had one female to call her own, and that one male who may be a good slave - if not, well then there were ways to deal with this behind Penthesilea's back. It had been unfortunate that the Queen had interrupted her first attempt to rid herself of the little beasts, but it was that whole speech of every puppy deserved a right to live. Sure that was a law in the pack, but did it really have to apply to her? No, she didn't think so, well as long as she didn't see that b*****d Corvus then everything would be fine.
Pushing the two small pups ahead of her at a quick pace Thealia set off to find Penthesilea. It didn't take long to find her thankfully and with a definite tone of defiance she butted into the conversation. "I have waited long enough. Are they taking the pups or not?"Penthsilea was abut ready to continue her talks with Chivosi when Thealia came barging in pushing the two pups forward. Anger flared in her eyes and she stood, quickly padded over the her wayward warrior. "You will not address me so plainly Thealia, nor will you show the same disrespect to Chivosi." She glanced over her shoulder at the other Alpha. Of all the times for Thealia to show up this was by far the worse. Her eyes moved to the two small pups, poor things looked exhausted but at least they would have a good home here - that was if the deal could still be made. "Now stay here and keep your mouth shut." Her eyes stared coldly at Thealia for a few moments before turning around and returning to talk to Chivosi.
"I apologize for my sister's actions." Then she recalled what had been said before Thealia came barging in here. "As you can see, the puppies are male and Thealia refuses to raise them. I would have kept them in the pack and raised them myself however I think it is best that they come here, live normal lives, be safe and - " She came to a pause for a moment, not sure if this was the best time to break the news or not, but honestly it was for the best. "And so that they can live with their father." Lichen let out a whimper as his mother pressed him on forward. He couldn't understand why she treated him and his brothers so badly for he was too young to know the politics of the pack he was born into. When they finally came to a stop he sat quietly with his head hung down in a mix of sadness, exhaustion and submission. Though his tail did wag lightly at Penthesilea - she at least was nice to him. His eyes moved to the other wolf, a stranger to him and he cringed slightly because it was another female. Had they brought him here to be punished?

Bracken like his brother wasn't sure exactly why things in his life happened the way they did, his sister received love and care, even their younger brother seemed to if not have their mothers lover then at least her consideration. But he and his brother, well no one seemed to care much about them, no one seemed to love them and he he glared at the strange female when he saw her. Just another bitter disappointment waiting to happen! If Thealia saw she'd probably cuff him for the glare - but he'd been cuffed so many times already in his small life that that wasn't much of a deterrent anymore.Chivosi's head turned as another wolf suddenly approached them, rushing two small puppies ahead of her - this she assumed must be the sister looking to unburden herself of her offspring and by the sounds of it with not a care in the world over the ethics of such a thing. And the puppies...oh the puppies, they looked so very tired and angry and her gaze softened slightly as she looked at them, heart slightly heavy at the thought of a mother so willing to abandon her young.
She let Penthesilea deal with her packmate - Chivosi had no desire to get into whatever might pass between them other then to arch a brow and cast the other wolf a look meant to display her thought upon her - she looked at her like a foolish youth who had the knowledge of proper manners but not the maturity to use them. It was a scornful look and was meant to be.
Ah but it seemed this pack was not the only one to be blamed for the puppies and their poor life thus far and this was somewhat of a shock, though once she thought about it it was not surprising YMCA held allot of young male wolves and looking at the pups beside their mother it was nigh impossible to tell which one it might have been that sired them. They might have just taken after their mother for all they looked like her. "Father you say..." She asked, hoping perhaps they might reveal said father's name - otherwise she would have to return to the pack and pester it out of someone. "We shall take the puppies for clearly their mother is incapable of treating them properly and their father has equal responsibility in their creation. Do they...have names?"

Thealia set her jaw as Penthesilea yelled at her for interrupting this meeting. Well what was she supposed to do wait forever hidden away with the two brats whining beside her. She had more important things to attend to, like her one beautiful daughter and that other little brat that will serve her as a slave when he got older. This other Alpha didn't need to know about the last male pup as far as she was concerned. Eyes narrowed a bit at Chivosi's comment but she restrained her tongue from lashing back.
Penthesilea didn't miss the look that Chivosi gave to Thealia. After all what female that had even the smallest amount of motherly instinct wouldn't think badly of Thealia for these things. She herself was quite mad at the green female for her actions not only today but those that resulted in these poor puppies. But at least they would have a good and safe home here. "I can understand your anger with her Chivosi, but Thealia is not like you and I. She thinks with her will, not her reason. Surely you have those within your pack with the same weakness."
Ah yes the father, Penthesilea glanced at the pups and then back to Chivosi. "Their father is Corvus." After another pause she spoke again. "As I said before I think it is best that these two be raised outside of Antianeira as they will be safe here. I would like to come and visit them as they grow to check on them. Thealia might not care what becomes of her children but I do." Her eyes moved back to Thealia for a moment then to the puppies. "Children come here." She asked of them and once they were close she introduced them. "This is Lichen." She nosed the male with the reddish points on his muzzle and paws. "And this is Bracken." She then nosed the bi-colored male with pink swirls like his mother. "Children, this is Chivosi and she will be taking care of you here at YMCA."
Lichen crept forward a bit hesitantly. He knew that Penthsilea wouldn't harm him but he was unsure about the other. Of course as he glanced back at his mother the cold stare he got made him hurry over to the Queens side. Eyes looked upon the other strange wolf and for a moment he was struck with fear over being told that she would raise him and his brother.Lichen looked at Bracken and then back to the strange Alpha.

Bracken followed his brother when they were called forward, unlike Lichen however Bracken did not bother looking back at his mother - he already knew he wouldn't receive any sort of encouragement from her so why bother? He knew better then to glare at the Queen however and of all the wolves he had met she had been by far the kindest to him so he listened to her. But even she was bound to disappoint him it seemed - foisting them off on this stranger to whom he gave a cool look.
"one or two perhaps" Chivosi allowed - though she didn't think there were any quite as nasty and cold as Thealia seemed to be. No sense in arguing that point however. "Corvus..I see, well that explains the lack of hints now doesn't it, being green as well he rather compliments your Thealia's colors" She mused, mostly to herself thought her words addressed Penthesilea. Chivosi was not angry at Corvus - he was young and male and most likely this female had been wily and manipulative. She would be quite beautiful if she wasn't also so ill tempered, Chivosi could imagine how things might have played out between the two, she did hope however that Corvus might learn a lesson from all of this.
Turning her attention to the puppies as they came close she gave them a warm look - in time hopefully they would loose those fearful angry looks and become the happy pups her own children had been. "Welcome to YMCA" She told them in a kind soothing voice. "I'm sure your dad will be very happy to see you' Though Chivosi doubted he even knew of them - she would make sure he was kind to them, or she'd chew his tail off. Looking back to Penthesilea she nodded "Of course - you will be welcome to visit them whenever you wish, I shall spread the word among our boarder guards and ranking members so none bother you when you come"

It pained Penthesilea to see the pups so sad and frightened but she told herself that this was the right decision, life would be far kinder to them here than it would in her own pack. Head swiveled to look at Thealia. "Return home now." She commanded. There was no reason for the pups mother to stick around, it was a miracle that she hadn't just abandoned the pups back where she had left them and their mother earlier.
Bending her head down she took a moment to address the pups. "Now children, this place is a good place to live. You know that I am doing this so that you can be happy. Here you can live with your father and learn things that you may not be taught in Antianeira." Penthsilea gave each of them a soft nuzzle, she did truly care for these pups much like she cared for Glacier, but she could only do so much for them. "Be good for Chivosi and your father, Iwill come and visit you often."
Raising herself back up she looked upon the other Alpha. "I do truly appreciate what you are doing for us. It is not every pack that would take in puppies, even if their father was part of the pack. I will let it be known to all my sisters and pack members that they can find refuge in your pack."
"Yes my Queen." Thealia said with a dip of her head. And without a glance at her pups or the wolf who would be raising them turned and padded off. Not even for a moment did she regret this choice, no she had the child she wan't back at Antianeira and that is what she would spend her energy and time on. Azalea would be a great warrior and perhaps more if she trained her well enough.
Lichen listened closely to the Queens words. Even if he wasn't going to be raised with her he still knew that she cared for him and that made his tail wag ever so slightly. Returning her nuzzle, which he had never once gotten from his mother he nodded to her. Lichen was a pup who didn't speak much, but that was only because he had always feared that anything he said would anger his mother.
